Chapter 79 - Chapter 76.2: Explaining to Kirlia [P2]

My mind was still spinning. I was caught between every reason to pull back and the quiet, patient weight of Kirlia's gaze.

Then I felt it: warm, soft pressure on my shoulder.

Meowscarada's paw rested lightly on my right shoulder first. Her sleek fur brushed my skin with that familiar, grounding steadiness.

A second later, Lopunny circled around from my right. Her long ears swayed gently as she stepped into place on my left.

She placed her paw on my left shoulder.

I turned left. Lopunny's eyes were bright and happy, ears tilted forward in that unmistakable relaxed way.

A soft, rolling "Lopuuun~" purred from her throat, warm and encouraging.

I turned right. Meowscarada's expression had softened.

The usual sharp mischief was gone, replaced by something quieter, almost tender.

She let out a low, rumbling "Nyaaa..." that vibrated more like a contented hum than her usual teasing drawl.

Both of them were smiling. Both of them okay with this.

The knot in my chest loosened, just a fraction, then more.

I remembered the day Lopunny and Floragato relaxed into something real only after I accepted them.

And now here they were. Not pulling away. Not tensing. Not looking at Kirlia like an intruder.

They weren't just tolerating this. They were welcoming it.

The frantic hammering in my ribs slowed. My breathing evened out. I looked from one to the other, then finally back to Kirlia, still standing there, tiny hands gripping the hem of her dress, huge red eyes locked on me and waiting.

I took a long, shaky breath. My face was still burning, ears hot, but the panic was receding.

Slow and hesitant, I gave a small, shy nod.

"...Okay."

The change was instant.

Lopunny's ears shot straight up, then flopped happily forward as her whole face lit up.

"Lopunnn~."

Meowscarada's eyes narrowed in that pleased way, before giving one firm, satisfied flick.

"Nya~."

Even Kirlia's horns pulsed brighter for a second, a tiny shimmer of pinkish light.

I exhaled again, softer this time. My hands still covering myself, as I shifted slightly and slowly crouched down so I was at her eye level.

"But Kirlia... listen.

We're not going to do anything like that.

Not sex.

Not anything close to that kind of relationship.

Not until you're grown up.

Not until you evolve into Gardevoir..."

"Only then, if you still feel the same way, if you still want this even when you've had time to understand everything, then we can progress further. Okay?"

Kirlia's shoulders drooped just a little.

But then she looked back up.

A small, determined nod.

"...Kir."

The moment the word left her, they closed in.

Meowscarada pressed fully against my right side. Her sleek form felt solid and warm as she leaned in. Lopunny, settled on my left, reached across to help guide.

One of Meowscarada's arms slid around my back. Her other paw gently urged Kirlia closer. Her deep purr rumbled straight through me. "Nya... nya~."

Lopunny mirrored her on my left. Her plush body molded to me. Her long ears already draped forward like a protective curtain over Kirlia's head.

She let out a bright, delighted huff-laugh. Then she wrapped both arms around the small frame in the center, pulling Kirlia snug against my chest while squeezing me at the same time. "Lopuuun~♡"

Kirlia was right in the middle now. Tiny and perfectly cradled between us three.

Her head pressed to my chest, right over my heart.

I could feel the quick flutter of her own breathing syncing up with the steady thump-thump beneath her cheek. Each beat seemed to echo louder in the quiet, like she was listening, memorizing it.

The moonlight filtered through the leaves above, dappling her horns in silver. It made the faint pink glow pulse even warmer against my collarbone.

A soft, trembling "Kirliaaa..." slipped out. Brighter now. Steadier. Almost like she was finally feeling like she belonged among us.

We stayed like that for a long while.

Warm.

Safe.

Together.
