Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Aftermath

Caiser clicked his tongue at the weakness he was forced to spar with. He didn't like boredom. A conviction he had kept since young. His interest lay solely in challenge. Only he knows the reason he remained at the border.

He turned his cold eyes to the other side of the field where countless sparks flew by.

The blurred shadows of Kaizan and the berserk vampire the only thing that remained visible.

He wanted to fight too. That bastard killed his friend, but he could only click his tongue and vent his frustration on the foot soldiers.

Further from the sulking commander; Kaizan struck the berserk vampire with the tip of his staff, a light jingle reverberating the air. The gentle green aura that had been in his company since young had transformed to a brutal wave. His stabs accurately tore at the vampire, his hatred and bloodline aura crashing down on him. Kaizan had always been gentle, even his enemies ended better of but now, his aura had a tinge of red.

Druids had always been docile, an embodiment of nature. Now though, he carried a resentment that resonated with the nature that surrounded him.

Brace looked overwhelmed, his deep red eyes flashing with panic. 'How did he end up with this psycho?'

He moved back trying to create distance between them but his efforts all proved for naught. Kaizan closed the distance again in an instant, his staff trembled, a blue glow surrounding its head.

The staff head clamped together, the rattles moving down, giving way for a forming spear head. It seems the staff too was furious.

Kaizan's robe floated, his hair fluttering about in the cold wind, his eyes now red at the edges.

Brace inhaled a sharp, cold breath. His muscles clenched, hazy tattoos appearing on his skin.

His transformation wasn't s flashy as the demon from before. His eyes grew redder, his nails elongating, forming grey claws. He kicked the ground and flew up creating distance between the two. Kaizan didn't chase this time. He waited.

Brace looked at the golden robed man before him, a cold smirk playing out on his face. His red eyes glowed with a ferocious light, his eyes trailing the druids figure.

"Druid...come with me, i promise i'll treat you well"

Kaizan's brow twitched, amusement laced his cold eyes.

Kaizan smirked, his now transformed staff jingled in the wind. He moved. Brace steadied his feet, regret flashing past his eyes. ' what a beauty!'

He crossed his pale arms waiting for impact. the spear met with his pale skin, a clang sound rang out. Kaizan's eyes widened in surprise. He quickly jumped back, eyeing the vampire from afar.

Brace let out a low chuckle.

"How about my offer....you really are a beauty."

Kaizan remained silent as he assessed the situation.

Kaizan stood still, his gaze unwavering. stretching his arm forward, the soil of the plain stirred. Brown energy pulsed as it gushed forth to the druid. A black branch mark adorned Kaizan's forehead as deep brown horns protruded out of his head.

The vampire's smirk faded, a serious look in his eyes.

Kaizan suddenly leapt, his spear stabbing straight at the vampire. Brace did the same thing, he crossed his arms but this time a black light wrapped around his arms. The spear was mere millimeters away from the vampire when his arms suddenly freed up. his grey claws brushed the spear head, deflecting it. He stretched his arms as he caught the druid in his arms. Kaizan's breath sprayed out on the vampires neck, his features twisting in hatred. He was trapped in the vile creatures arms.

"Beauty..my arms feel great don't they?"

The vampire teased, clear desire in his red eyes.

Kaizan pulled his head back and smacked the vampire with it, The hit caused the vampire to stagger back, his arms loosening around Kaizan. Kaizan's aura blazed.

He got into another stance, his once green bloodline aura now a deep red. He didn't leap this time, he walked. his steps caused faint tremors in the ground. His horns grew longer, vines coiled out from them forming green nets on his head. He looked like a tree god.

His strides grew quicker and quicker before he broke out in a sprint. Brace stood further, his eyes blazing with a frustration. Kaizan thrust his spear straight at the vampires face, Brace side stepped, avoiding the clash. Kaizan changed the trajectory of the spear head, using the shaft to hit the vampire's side. Kaizan crouched low, the spear head poked at the vampire's heel, Brie was annoyed. He sent a kick towards kaizan's head only to be stabbed by a golden thorn. The jingling thorns adorning the spear had gone into action. Brice winced.

Kaizan didn't stop, he swung the spear again hitting Brice's knee. The vampire moved back trying to create distance but Kaizan became more unrelenting, he chased after Brice like an enraged predator.

The clash lasted till Brice had accumulated a staggering amount of little cuts on his body. Kaizan stopped a distance away from the bruised vampire, his eyes colder than usual.

Brice let out a cold laugh, his bloodied arm combing through his hair. "Beauty...are you tired"

His voice held a mocking undertone but Kaizan only smiled.

His speared jingled lightly a s he turned to walk away. He made no statements, just his cold back. His stride was slow and deliberate.

The smile on Brice's face receded, his confusion was palpable.

He watched as Kaizan walked away not even glancing back, his blood churning.

'Badump Badump'

His heart was in disarray.

His blood seemed to be moving backwards. He spurted out a mouthful of blood, realization dawning on him.

Green vines sprouted out of his cuts, their roots burrowing deeper into his blood stream. they were feeding on his life force, draining him bit by bit.

The druid was sure of his victory.

Brice fell down to the ground, his body spasming as the vines grew longer tightening around his body. The pain was unbearable but he couldn't make a sound.

A thick flower bud tore through his throat as it tore out of his mouth, the resistance in his eyes fading, making room for despair as he succumbed to the darkness.

The Vampire was no more, his eyes dull with complexity.

Maybe he had forgotten, he wasn't dealing with just any druid.
