"Hmph! I don't understand why everyone believes we are destined to fail this war, as if this savage land of Earth is bound to bring us misfortune!"
"Half a month ago, I set out from Cybertron and formed an alliance with the Decepticons and the Harvestors, two major interstellar fleets. Wherever we went, terror and dread followed!"
"I have campaigned across the stars for millions of years, defeating countless resurrected powerhouses. I am virtually unrivaled!"
"That realm of vibrant vitality and fierce competition is still vivid in my mind!"
"In just one night, the Reaper Civilization lost more than half its forces, and the Decepticons leader is missing. Has this mere Earth truly become our burial ground?"
"No matter what, we still possess several times the troop strength of Earth in this war. The advantage is ours!"
Aboard the spacecraft, Lockdown fiercely threw down the communicator. The heavy device clattered against the metal floor and skidded a short distance before coming to a stop, its screen still flickering with fragmentary battlefield reports that only deepened his irritation.
Yesterday afternoon, The Fallen completely lost contact. A terrifying giant Transformer appeared in the Egypt region, killing instantly, and was unbeatable! Reports described entire battalions vanishing in the span of minutes, their signals cut off mid-transmission as if the very air had swallowed them whole.
By this morning, the leader of the Reaper Civilization had lost contact in China. That powerful Titan Beast named Mothra rampaged across the sky, tearing countless battleships to shreds! The biological fleets that had once darkened the skyline were reduced to scattered debris raining down over cities and countryside alike.
According to the intelligence Lockdown possessed, the Decepticons army was leaderless, fighting in scattered chaos, and being slaughtered by a coalition of human armies, Autobots, Titan Beasts, and even some strange mages. Units that had once moved with ruthless coordination now fired blindly into the dark, their command chains shattered beyond repair.
The Reaper Civilization, which had the largest numbers, was repeatedly hit hard. Although they killed tens of millions of humans, their own losses far exceeded the brains they harvested. Wave after wave of bio-constructs charged into urban districts only to be met by coordinated counterattacks that left streets littered with ruptured husks and drained nutrient sacs.
Especially after the leader of the Reaper Civilization went missing, its biological armies fell into complete disarray, proving even more useless than the Decepticons, and were actually harvested by combined human infantry forces. Ordinary soldiers with rifles and makeshift barriers were cutting down creatures that should have overwhelmed entire continents.
Seeing this, Lockdown truly didn't understand why this Planet had so many factions.
Mutants, Inhumans, Eternals, Superheroes, Supervillains, Demons, Specters, vampires, werewolves, Autobots, Kamar-Taj, Titan Beasts... The list stretched longer every time new intelligence arrived, each name carrying its own brand of unnatural power that refused to fit into any clean category of organic or mechanical life.
The moment their group arrived here, it was like they had poked a hornet's nest, getting beaten up by a bunch of dishonorable bastards. Every landing zone turned into an ambush. Every advance met resistance from directions no one had prepared for.
He personally witnessed a several-meter-tall Harvestor behemoth break into a skyscraper, only to be jointly subdued and killed by a group of Specters. The massive creature had smashed through concrete and steel with ease, yet those translucent figures simply passed through its armor and tore it apart from within while it thrashed in confusion.
He even saw a small single-soldier biological unit run to a graveyard looking for fresh brains, only to have its own brain eaten by a group of zombies with rotten brains. The irony was almost insulting. Creatures that should have been easy prey turned the tables without hesitation, as if the planet itself refused to let anything claim an easy victory.
He was truly defeated!
There was also a group of green-skinned, shape-shifting Skrulls.
He truly didn't understand why the Skrulls, who were wanted by the Kree Empire, had lost their homeworld, and were wandering around like stray dogs, were even braver than the Earthlings in resisting the alien invaders. They fought with a desperation that bordered on madness, slipping into human forms one moment and revealing their true shapes the next as they struck at supply lines and isolated units.
What connection does Earth have to you?
Why the fuck do you need to fight this hard?
Lockdown initially relied on his army to suppress the United States, but was then jointly annihilated by Thor, Hulk, and a group of local super-powered individuals and monsters. Lightning that cracked the sky itself, raw strength that turned tanks into crumpled metal, and a dozen other abilities that ignored every tactical calculation he had prepared.
In the end, Lockdown had no choice but to flee in embarrassment.
Just thinking about the previous scene made Lockdown feel incredibly humiliated.
What is meant by "Jumping a motherfucker with a gang always worked, no matter how powerful a motherfucker is"? This was it.
Due to a lack of understanding of Earth, even someone as powerful as Lockdown felt quite helpless when facing types like Thor and Hulk. Strength alone was not enough when the battlefield itself seemed to rewrite the rules at every turn.
Just then, the communicator rang.
"This is Lockdown. Who else is alive?"
"I am Sentinel Prime. I need the help of your army. I am setting up the energy pillars in New York. Once I summon Cybertron, you will be the new Decepticons leader!"
"..."
Lockdown was very surprised that Sentinel Prime was still not dead.
Only after checking the surveillance did he discover that when Sentinel Prime descended upon New York Earth yesterday, he was jointly repelled by Optimus Prime and Jetfire, and had no choice but to hide while holding onto the energy pillars.
He only reappeared after Optimus Prime and the others had finished eliminating the nearby invaders.
However, all the Decepticons under Sentinel Prime's command had been killed. Without subordinates to help, Sentinel Prime could not possibly complete the teleportation array smoothly.
Idiot! At a time like this, are you still obsessing over your broken energy pillars?
Even if Cybertron is teleported over, what then? If you don't first exterminate all life on Earth, are you planning to gift Earth a fortune—a resource Planet full of rare metals?
If things continue like this, who knows who will end up invading whom!
Lockdown cursed silently and looked back at the meager forces he had left.
Twenty-three medium and small battleships, carrying the last few thousand mechanical wolves and robots that made up the Night Hunter Legion. The hangars that had once been packed with gleaming war machines now felt half-empty, the remaining units standing in neat but diminished ranks.
Originally, Lockdown's strength was the weakest of the three factions.
Now that the situation was critical, how could he waste time dealing with Sentinel Prime?
A dignified Autobots leader, defecting to the enemy before his own people were defeated—what was praiseworthy about such a scoundrel of a leader?
"I still have one last chance..."
"As long as I can eliminate the greatest danger on Earth, this war can still be won. Yes, it must be won!"
Lockdown thought to himself, looking at the specialized bombs in the warehouse with a fanatic expression. The crates lined the walls in careful rows, each one marked with the cold, precise symbols of The Creator's design.
"The 'Seed' bombs are world-ending weapons manufactured by The Creator!"
"They can convert all organic matter into metallic particles beneficial to the Transformers."
"As long as I can convert the enemy leaders into robots, the remaining guys won't be worth fearing!"
One of the agreements Lockdown reached with The Creator Quintasha was to eliminate all existence on Earth that might obstruct the plan.
Besides retrieving the Scepter of Life, his most important task was to collect the Seed bombs and convert Earth's surface life into metal.
But unfortunately, the Scepter of Life hadn't been acquired yet, and the allied forces were already defeated.
