As Alessa's dark side, Cheryl appeared to be only about ten years old, the same age as Sharon.
This applied to both her physical form and her mental state.
That was because Alessa had separated her good and evil halves ten years ago and had Lisa send the good half to an orphanage in New Silent Hill.
She had hoped that her good side could experience the family warmth she herself had never known.
As a result, Cheryl's age and appearance remained fixed at that point in time.
Only when Alessa truly moved forward could Cheryl change as well.
Cheryl saw herself as a comrade fighting alongside Alessa.
They were inseparable.
They shared both joy and suffering.
But she had never expected… Alessa would betray their bond and sneak off on her own.
Sharon's innocence was understandable.
She was not an ordinary human child. Though she looked young, she was, in a sense, a vengeful spirit, even a demon.
How could one judge the age of a spirit by its appearance?
Moreover, because she and Alessa shared the same origin and had never been completely separated, she could also share Alessa's senses!
When they suffered, they suffered together. Naturally, they also shared moments of pleasure.
However, she had just experienced Alessa's feelings, yet in the end, it wasn't her own experience.
That kind of happiness felt empty and unreal. Not only did it fail to satisfy her, it made her even more restless.
Cheryl glanced at Sharon, whose eyes still held a simple, almost foolish innocence.
She shook her head.
Even though Sharon was essentially another part of the same origin, Cheryl still felt that she was far too naive.
After thinking for a moment, Cheryl headed straight for Yulenka's bedroom.
In her view, both Emma and Sharon were still children.
Only Yulenka was someone like her.
Yulenka was surprised to see Cheryl arrive alone, and when she heard what Cheryl had to say, something stirred within her.
The two girls, whose minds were far from ordinary, gathered in the bedroom, whispering quietly about something unknown.
Outside the door, Sharon quietly followed and leaned against the doorway, trying to listen in.
All she could catch were fragments like "so amazing," "yes yes yes," "harder," and then someone clapping..?
Sharon blinked in confusion. What were they watching? Were they watching a homework video, which was hard, and then they clapped when they got the answer right?
But deep down, why did Sharon feel like they wanted to… become her mother?
Her eyes widened. In her mind, Yulenka and Cheryl suddenly became incredibly mean.
She treated them like sisters, but they wanted to become her mom?
"Sharon, what are you doing?"
In the darkness, a woman with striking blue eyes approached.
It was Annabeth, a descendant of Athena, who was temporarily staying here.
Her friend Kelly was currently enjoying herself on the top floor of the villa, indulging in earthly pleasures.
Although Annabeth had a favorable impression of Luke, she still didn't know much about him. Because of that, she kept her distance and suppressed her feelings for now.
Using her connection as Kelly's friend, she had been staying in the same room.
Left alone tonight, she had come out for a walk out of boredom.
She hadn't expected to see Sharon lurking outside Yulenka's room like a thief.
"Shh—Annabeth, keep it down!"
Sharon jumped, her face tense as she whispered urgently.
Annabeth grew suspicious.
Is Yulenka doing something questionable inside?
Let me take a listen.
Annabeth leaned closer to the door as well. Seeing this, Sharon let out a quiet sigh of relief.
But since Sharon had never done anything like this before, she felt too nervous to stay after being caught. She quickly slipped away.
Annabeth ignored her and bent down, listening carefully.
After a moment, her expression turned increasingly complex.
Was this really something she was supposed to hear?
Good heavens. The daughter was already planning to get rid of her future siblings before they were even born.
What kind of ruthlessness was this? Others acted after the fact, but they were planning to strike in advance.
Annabeth was still listening when the room suddenly fell silent.
Not good.
Bang!
The door flew open. Yulenka and Cheryl stood there with grim expressions, Cheryl's white dress now turned pitch black. They stared at her with eerie smiles.
"Sister Annabeth, what did you hear?"
"If I say I didn't hear anything… would you believe me?"
Annabeth swallowed hard. Despite carrying the bloodline of Athena, she found herself too frightened to even move in front of these two girls.
If her distant relatives heard about this, they would probably laugh themselves to death.
Cheryl slowly floated into the air. Annabeth suddenly realized that, at some point, she had been pulled into a gray, gloomy dimension.
She felt completely defeated.
Who exactly was the demigod here?
Yulenka reached out and gently tugged Cheryl, signaling her to calm down.
Cheryl immediately understood. She quietly withdrew the domain and put on a harmless, slightly dark smile.
"Sister Annabeth, since you're so curious, why don't you come inside and we can talk?"
"Can I choose not to?"
Annabeth was filled with regret, wishing she could slap herself for being so nosy.
Yulenka and Cheryl exchanged a glance and answered in perfect unison, "No."
"Sister Annabeth, we heard you have connections to those ancient gods. You must know a lot. We just happen to have something we'd like to ask you…"
Each of them grabbed one of Annabeth's hands and dragged her inside.
With a loud bang, the door slammed shut, sealing off the room once more.
Tonight was destined to be anything but peaceful.
...
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
At Triskelion Tower,
Nick Fury was abruptly awakened in the middle of the night.
When he learned that several secret research bases under S.H.I.E.L.D. had been breached, he roared, "Who the hell dares to mess with me? Find them and eliminate them!"
"Director… it's Thor."
"So what if it's Thor? I—wait, Thor? The God of Hammers from Asgard?"
Nick Fury froze for a moment, his tone turning uncertain. "Wasn't he beaten up by Godzilla yesterday? Then he vented his frustration on a bunch of unmanned mechs today. Why is he targeting us now?"
On the other end, Maria Hill, who had been dragged into late-night overtime, sent over a file.
"It's about Calvin. Thor says Calvin is extremely dangerous, and that humanity is headed toward destruction if they don't stop researching it. So he decided to destroy all Calvin samples for us."
Fury opened the attachment.
The footage showed Thor crashing down through a laboratory roof, hammer in hand, effortlessly disabling security. Then, with terrifying lightning, he reduced the Martian lifeform Calvin, which they had captured at great cost, to charred remains.
Fury slammed his fist onto the desk, furious.
"Damn it! This is Earth, not Asgard! He thinks he can just come here and smash our hard-earned assets with his hammer? That's outrageous!"
Yes, Thor was powerful, and his background was formidable.
But Earth wasn't something to be taken lightly either.
Under S.H.I.E.L.D., they had Tony Stark and the Hulk as their main pillars.
Then there were the so-called Four: Black Widow, Hawkeye, Coulson, and Agent Mark Smith.
With countless agents stationed worldwide, they had nothing to fear from Thor.
Not to mention… they also had Luke.
And Fury knew that Asgard's Bifrost was no longer intact.
Thor coming to Earth and acting this arrogantly… who gave him that confidence? Did he really think they were easy targets?
"Director, Thor said this was Luke's order," Hill added calmly.
"...oh."
