Chapter 96 - 96: For a god, this wasn't too much, right?

Boom!!!

Luke exhaled. The pale blue Atomic Breath cut through the night, pierced ten thousand meters of deep sea, and instantly evaporated millions of tons of seawater, forming a cylindrical tunnel of light ten meters in diameter.

In just a few seconds, it penetrated deep into the Mariana Trench, directly striking the abyssal wormhole created by the Precursor Civilization.

The Atomic Breath continued to pour out, instantly surpassing the energy generated by plate tectonics and exceeding the maximum capacity the wormhole could withstand.

Luke clearly felt the Atomic Breath encounter a barrier in the first few seconds, but it violently broke through, piercing the protective membrane and surging into the wormhole with savage force.

The Precursor Civilization had no time to react. The Atomic Breath actually traveled tens of thousands of light-years through the wormhole.

It was a direct strike on the Precursor planet.

...

On the Precursor planet, tens of thousands of light-years away,

the Precursors were frantically monitoring the massive wormhole space in the sky.

Under their terrified gazes, the wormhole continuously expanded and contracted, then began spewing vast amounts of blue plasma, tearing apart the floor of the bio-beast breeding facility.

The Atomic Breath continued its rampage, drilling deeper into the planet as if intending to pierce straight through the entire Precursor world.

Seeing this, the Precursor scientists hurriedly shut down the wormhole.

Because of the enormous energy contained within the Atomic Breath, the closing process was far from smooth.

The massive energy forced the channel open, compelling the Precursor Civilization to forcibly cut the output.

Only then did the wormhole slowly close, finally ceasing to emit energy beams.

However, in just those few minutes, the Atomic Breath had already bored through more than a thousand kilometers of the planet's crust, forming a bottomless pit dozens of meters in diameter, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom.

Luke didn't know what the Precursor Civilization was thinking.

When the Atomic Breath encountered another protective membrane, Luke realized the wormhole had been closed.

Continuing any further would only deepen the Mariana Trench and might even blast into the inner Earth world.

Luke quickly stopped the energy output.

Phew~

Under the astonished gazes of Jean and Suyin, Luke lightly exhaled, releasing a ring of white smoke.

"It's over."

"No new Kaiju will appear in the next few years. As for later… we'll deal with it when the time comes."

Suyin blinked, then looked at the ocean that had refilled the deep pit after the energy flow ceased, falling into thought.

As for Jean Grey, she was secretly comparing Luke's Atomic Breath with Scott's Cyclops.

Luke's was so thick and long, while Scott's was so thin… the two were not on the same level at all.

Thor smacked his lips. "Don't tell me the energy you just released blasted through more than ten thousand meters of deep sea?"

Luke nodded, then shook his head. "I also took the opportunity to blast the Precursor planet and give them a lesson. I just don't know if they'll remember it."

Thor's mouth twitched.

He glanced again at Mjolnir.

Although he could summon lightning capable of slicing through ten thousand meters, he could not cut through ten thousand meters of deep sea.

While his lightning was also thick and long, it wasn't sustained enough; it simply couldn't reach the deepest parts of the ocean.

In comparison, Luke was far too sustained. If he kept going, wouldn't he blast straight through the Earth?

Thor tactfully suggested, "You should take it easy with that move and not use it recklessly. I'm worried you might blow up the Midgard…"

"Don't worry. The Earth isn't as fragile as you think."

Luke waved dismissively. He had already held back; at most, he had only penetrated about a hundred miles into the ground.

Thor muttered, "But it's not as solid as you think either."

He then thought of Asgard.

Although Asgard is one of the Nine Realms alongside Earth, it is not actually the size of a planet.

Rather than a true world, Asgard is more like a massive floating city filled with mountains and water.

The city is surrounded by an endless ocean suspended in the void.

If Luke were to do something like that in Asgard, wouldn't it already be destroyed?

Sss… It seemed better not to invite Luke to Asgard in the future.

Asgard was very delicate and couldn't withstand rough treatment.

"Thor, there are still a few Megalodons in the sea. If you're interested, go deal with them. I'll be leaving first."

Having dealt with the Kaiju and the Precursor Civilization, Luke prepared to head back and get some proper rest.

Those few blasts just now had consumed about one-twentieth of his energy.

With his current capabilities, it would take about an hour to recover.

When Thor heard there was still work for him, he immediately became excited.

"Megalodons? Sounds like big guys! Leave it to me, don't worry!"

Since he had come all this way, returning empty-handed was not Thor's style.

He had to slay a few monsters to take back as trophies.

A blue arcane teleportation rune appeared beneath Luke's feet.

Thor stared at it for a while, realizing it wasn't a rune he recognized, nor one from any of the various large or small universes he had studied.

Seeing he couldn't make sense of it, Thor simply turned his head away.

Compared to using his brain, he preferred using his hammer and his muscles.

Luke then looked at Jean Grey. "Jean, do you want to head back?"

Jean hesitated for a moment, vaguely realizing this was some kind of teleportation ability.

"Then I'll trouble you."

As soon as Jean stepped into the teleportation array, and just before the two were about to leave, Suyin hurried in as well.

Dr. Zhang didn't even have time to stop them before he saw one man and two women vanish from the cruise ship.

"Suyin!"

"Buddy, stop shouting. If I'm not mistaken, they should already be in New York by now."

Thor sympathetically patted Dr. Zhang on the shoulder. "Relax. Beautiful women always like heroes. Your daughter won't suffer with Luke. I know him. He's very attentive to his women."

His women?!

Dr. Zhang's face turned pale. "No, my daughter is still a pure maiden! She just left with him like that. Will her virtue still be intact?"

"Stop worrying about that. It's better to figure out how to lure that Megalodon out."

Thor found this rather troublesome.

He was Thor, the God of Thunder, not the God of the Sea; he really wasn't familiar with ocean matters.

Letting him discharge some lightning was fine, but moving mountains and overturning seas like Luke was too difficult for him.

"Forget it. Heimdall, lend your brother a hand!"

...

New York.

"So your trip to the Argo this time was because Professor X detected Simon's plan to team up with mercenaries to commit insurance fraud, and he had you infiltrate the cruise ship to protect the tourists when the time came?"

Luke was quite surprised after hearing Jean Grey's explanation.

But after thinking it through carefully, it actually made sense.

Because there were more dangers in this world, the threat Mutants posed to humanity was diluted.

As a result, Mutants' living environment here was relatively better than in the Mutant universe.

But that was only relative.

The Mutant community itself was still subject to unfair treatment.

To change this situation, Professor X had implemented a series of measures.

They dreamed of gaining recognition and support from the elite class.

That was why Jean had come to the Argo alone.

She just hadn't expected the crisis this time to be even greater than anticipated.

Not only did Jean fail to save anyone, she had nearly gotten trapped herself.

Then, through misfortune, she was lucky enough to meet the mysterious Luke.

"I remember your X-Men missions usually involve two people teaming up."

Jean shook her head. "It used to be that way, but recently problems have been popping up more and more frequently, and the X-Men are short-handed, so most situations now require solo action."

"The Professor has decided to expand the size of the X-Men, so things should improve after a while."

"That's not necessarily true…"

Luke said meaningfully.

Ever since the incident with Asgard's Bifrost Bridge, aliens had begun pouring in.

The vast Earth had already turned into a mess.

In just one or two weeks, it had experienced multiple alien invasions.

It wasn't hard to imagine how bad the days ahead would be.

In fact, today might be the best day of the future.

Things would only get worse…

Jean didn't understand why.

Under Professor X's guidance, they were full of hope for the future, yearning for Mutants to truly gain human acceptance and coexist peacefully with ordinary people.

World-ending destruction still felt like a distant concept.

"What are you doing?"

Luke looked at Suyin, who had been holding her phone and taking notes ever since they returned.

Without lifting her head, Suyin said, "I am documenting new biological species. This is a major discovery. After I finish compiling it, I plan to upload it to the United Nations so all countries can prepare their responses."

"After all, the wormhole was only temporarily destroyed. Once the Precursors repair it, a new storm will arrive."

"That's up to you, but why did you follow me here? Asia is much safer than this place."

Luke had already noticed a pattern: in this world, the United States was full of crises and was the primary target of major villains.

Of course, for Luke, where others felt fear, he saw opportunity.

The more dangerous the place, the more suitable it was.

There were plenty of Anomaly Points to earn.

Suyin's finger paused, and she offered a rather clumsy excuse.

"Because you are the only person who has had close contact with the new species, I naturally need to stay with you to perfectly document their condition."

Do you call crushing the enemy from thousands of meters away "close contact"?

Luke shook his head and said no more.

Having one more beautiful girl like Suyin wasn't a problem. He didn't lack food for one person.

The only issue was that there weren't enough rooms.

Currently, nine adults and two children were already staying there.

If two more people arrived, Luke would have to sacrifice himself and share a room with several women.

It seems I need to find an opportunity to buy a large villa… or just buy an entire apartment building.

Luke's idea was simple: one room per person, and he would decide each day who to sleep with.

For a god, this small wish wasn't too much, was it?
