Chapter 252 - Lightning Release — Thunderbird!

Swordsmanship!

Taijutsu!

Ninjutsu!

Genjutsu!

In just a few minutes, Allen cycled through everything he had learned. Applying the combat mindset and style he forged in the Hunter x Hunter world, he easily suppressed his opponent, forcing the man to rely on Earth Release's superior defense just to survive. This was despite Allen intentionally holding back to keep the test going.

Damn it! What is with this kid? He's used so many high-level Jutsus, yet he doesn't show a hint of fatigue! Is his Chakra infinite?

The longer the battle dragged on, the more desperate the Stone Ninja became. By now, he had seen this silver-haired Genin with rare violet eyes perform at least forty distinct Jutsus, including high-difficulty Medical Ninjutsu. In his heart, he had upgraded his assessment from "genius" to "monster."

Yes! A monster wearing human skin!

Allen noticed this shift and offered a comforting smile. "Sorry, please hold on a little longer. Once I test this last one, I'll end your suffering."

Pant... pant... pant...

The Stone Ninja no longer had the energy to speak. He used this brief respite to recover his strength for one final, suicidal charge. As a veteran of the Second and Third Shinobi World Wars, he didn't fear death; he just didn't want to die in vain. He wanted to inflict at least one permanent injury on this Konoha monster, either blinding an eye or severing a finger.

"Nice eyes. It seems you've embraced the resolve to die. In that case, witness a Ninjutsu I created myself before you go."

As he spoke, a massive amount of Lightning-natured Chakra began to gather in Allen's hands. Because the volume was so staggering, the blinding white light surpassed the brightness of the sun. Gradually, the Chakra took the shape of a bird of prey, about five meters long with a wingspan exceeding twelve meters. The sheer sight of it made one's scalp tingle.

"Lightning Release: Thunderbird! How is it? A magnificent Jutsu, isn't it? Anyone killed by this will feel no pain. Under millions of volts, a human heart stops instantly, and the body is charred to ash in a heartbeat," Allen introduced his invention with excitement.

This was no easy feat! Shaping the violent element of lightning and imbuing it with controllability was an impossible task for most Lightning Release users; it required mastering both Shape Transformation and Nature Transformation of Lightning Chakra simultaneously. Even if those "pink-eye" types from the Uchiha clan came, they likely wouldn't be able to copy this.

The most critical factor was the sheer volume of Chakra. Creating a Thunderbird of this size required Allen to condense and compress about one-twentieth of his total Chakra, otherwise, the lightning couldn't hold its form.

"M-Monster! How can such a monster exist in this world!"

The Stone Ninja had clearly been driven to the brink of insanity by the sight of the giant bird. He charged forward madly, tearing open his vest to reveal hundreds of Explosive Tags, attempting to take his enemy with him in a suicidal blast.

Allen remained unmoved, standing perfectly still. Only when the opponent entered the fifteen-meter warning zone did the Thunderbird vanish into a streak of light.

The next second...

BOOOOM!!!!

A massive pillar of white light pierced the heavens!

The poor Stone Ninja died instantly, without even time to scream. Had Vaelastrasz not reacted quickly enough to lunge out and spray Flames of Life to encase him in a cocoon and swallow him, there wouldn't even have been a corpse left.

"The power was a bit overkill. Maybe I'll try to make the Thunderbird a bit smaller next time," Allen mused, staring at the scorched ground.

After all, he was still a Konoha Genin. Using S-rank or Forbidden Jutsus like the Thunderbird too often would surely draw the unwanted attention of the "Darkness of the Shinobi World," the famous "Godfather of Cauldrons," Danzo Shimura. Ever since Allen had shown his talent for Chakra control and Medical Ninjutsu, he had felt a few ill-intentioned gazes lurking around him.

...

Meanwhile, Might Guy, fighting the other Stone Ninja, noticed the pillar of lightning rising into the sky. His expression shifted slightly, and he immediately activated the forbidden technique he had spent years mastering, the Eight Inner Gates.

"Sixth Gate: Gate of View, Open! Asa Kujaku!"

With the "valves" restraining his Chakra blown wide, he transformed into a red blur, unleashing hundreds of punches at a speed invisible to the naked eye. The poor Stone Ninja was swallowed by bright flames before he could even blink. When it was over, every bone in his body was shattered into something resembling a meat pie.

Guy didn't stop for a second, racing toward the site of the explosion at maximum speed. Finding Allen standing there unharmed and dazed, he finally sighed in relief. "What just happened?"

"Uh, I used a Jutsu that's still in the experimental phase. I didn't expect the power to be quite so... high," Allen blinked, putting on an innocent look.

"A Jutsu you developed yourself?" Might Guy's surprise was unconcealed. At this age, most Genin were still in the stage of basic learning. Anyone capable of creating their own Jutsu was an undisputed genius whose name would surely ring throughout the Shinobi world.

Allen nodded slightly. "Yes, a Lightning Release Jutsu. If Lee and Neji haven't finished the last enemy yet, I could give you a live demonstration."

"What are we waiting for then! Let's go support them!"

With those words, Guy grabbed Allen and bolted toward the nearby battlefield. Before long, they saw a battered but not lethally injured Neji and Lee. The Byakugan could easily see through Genjutsu and hidden tactics, leaving the Stone Ninja with few options. Furthermore, Neji could observe the flow of Chakra to predict the type of Ninjutsu and take precautions. Since their goal was only to stall for time, they had managed to hold out, otherwise, against the average Jonin, they would have been long dead.
