Chapter 147 - Demon-level Monsters

The Iron Mongers lived up to expectations and blocked the monsters' attacks. After all, they were products of his own company, so Zod naturally had to put on a show.

Otherwise, if they were torn apart in just a few hits, he would completely lose face.

At the same time, the security department of Blade Tech Industries also walked out wearing War Machine armors.

"Hurry up!"

The captain of the security department was actually terrified too, but he had no choice. For the sake of their families whose situations were unknown, they had to step up and eliminate the monsters!

Fortunately, the War Machine armors provided by the company all had a Sub-Kryptonium coating on their surface, and the defensive capabilities of Sub-Kryptonium were obvious to all.

Not to mention, they were currently wielding the "Devastator" man-portable Gatling machine guns.

The bullet propellant utilized a new type of gunpowder invented by Zod Heath. This new gunpowder had not yet been sold as a commercial product.

It enhanced the power of the bullets by three times, while also improving their range, trajectory flatness, and firing accuracy.

Coupled with the tiny bit of Sub-Kryptonium at the tip of the warheads, the Devastator displayed astonishing destructive power.

"Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!"

"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"

Countless gunshots formed fiery whips of tracer rounds that lashed into the monster horde. All the approaching monsters were instantly torn to pieces under the terrifying high-speed firepower. Equipped with the new gunpowder, manufactured with new technology, and utilizing Sub-Kryptonium warheads, the Devastator's power was not far off from a 30mm close-in weapon system, and might even be stronger. This made it capable of shredding heavily armored targets in a short amount of time, let alone creatures made of flesh and blood.

Countless monsters died instantly without even being able to let out a scream. A hail of bullets poured down, sending flesh and blood flying everywhere!

Mincemeat, bodily fluids, and severed limbs danced in the air.

A Tiger-level monster had originally rushed right up to a War Machine armor, but before it could even attack, the explosively fired warheads pierced into its body, twisting its insides into meaty craters, leaving it directly in a semi-paralyzed state.

Blade Tech Industries also deployed drones. These drones were each equipped with a hundred missiles, and all the missiles contained the new type of explosive invented by Zod Heath.

Under normal circumstances, if a missile loaded with one kilogram of explosives had its payload increased to ten kilograms, would the pressure exerted on the target be enhanced?

The answer was naturally yes.

However, it would not be enhanced by ten times. Compared to one kilogram of explosives, ten kilograms mainly expanded the blast radius. The internal high temperature and extreme pressure generated would increase, but the enhancement would be extremely limited.

But the new explosive invented by Zod Heath inherently possessed a much higher energy level than all currently existing explosives.

The high temperature and extreme pressure generated by the explosion of one kilogram of this new explosive were equivalent to ten times that of one kilogram of TNT!

As a result, the missiles fired by these drones caused terrifying destruction upon hitting their targets.

"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"...

The shockwaves, accompanied by explosive flames and churning waves of heat, dirt, and stone, instantly knocked down the several monsters leading the charge.

"Boom!"

Large swathes of soil were scorched in the flames. Those few monsters that had just struggled to their feet happened to be situated right at the center of the explosion. They were torn apart like oversized ragdolls, clearly beyond any hope of survival.

"Hurry!"

Blade Tech Industries established a defensive line and began rescuing civilians.

The massive Iron Mongers wielded even larger Devastator autocannons. They possessed a larger caliber, a heavier explosive payload, and far greater lethality!

"Boom!" "Boom!"

Two precise explosions rang out. Aside from the upper body of a giant Seafolk being blasted directly into pieces, a severely mangled red tail was sent flying away, landing right in front of several black beetles in the distance.

The gem-like smooth back of the black beetle at the very front was now covered in cracks, and it roared continuously as it scurried along.

"Clang, clang, clang..." "Clang!" "Clang, clang..."

These monsters, created by Zod Heath using insects as prototypes, were incredibly fast. They dodged much of the sweeping gunfire. Even when bullets hit them, looking from afar, sparks flew everywhere as the bullets were continuously deflected.

However, only they themselves knew the truth. The constant pain transmitted from their carapaces told them that they absolutely could not afford to be hit by any more bullets.

An Iron Monger noticed these monsters that seemingly did not fear the War Machines' machine guns, and it immediately pivoted the barrel of its Devastator autocannon.

"Thump, thump, thump, thump..."

The slightly rotating barrage from the cannon barrel achieved complete coverage of that entire area.

"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"...

Building debris flew in all directions alongside a mist of flesh and blood. An entire layer was shaved off the facing side of the building. Many monsters were directly blasted to dust. The black beetle-type monsters only managed to hold on for a second or two longer. Several of them were directly blasted into the sky and then shredded to pieces by the autocannon midair.

The drones instantly fired off a quarter of their mounted rockets, with dozens of missiles locking down a specific zone.

"Boom, boom, boom, boom..."

When the flames faded, any monster that was even slightly slow to react, regardless of its size, was left as nothing more than a mangled, twitching corpse.

To be safe, the autocannons still mercilessly swept a barrage of gunfire over some of the seemingly more powerful corpses.

Watching Blade Tech Industries' overwhelming firepower, the civilians could not help but feel much more at ease in their hearts. They had no idea that this was just Zod Heath taking the opportunity to put on a show. None of the monsters that had come this way were above the Tiger-level, so they naturally could not withstand the firepower of the War Machines and Iron Mongers.

"Bang!"

On top of a hundred-meter-tall building, a sniper watched through his scope as a monster whose head had blossomed into a bloody flower twitched and collapsed. He muttered under his breath.

"I am a natural-born sharpshooter. That makes thirty-six!"

With warheads forged entirely out of Sub-Kryptonium and a terrifying twenty-millimeter caliber, this sniper cannon, which could only be wielded by someone wearing a War Machine armor, displayed astonishing lethality.

"Bang!"

Down below, an elephant-sized monster's head blew open, yet it continued to lumber forward slowly. Two of its four legs were already broken, and its body was a mangled mess of flesh and blood.

The War Machine next to him fired as well, and tongues of flame erupted simultaneously from the muzzles of both large-caliber sniper rifles.

"Bang!" "Bang!"

Struck twice more in the exact same spot, the heavy body finally collapsed to the ground.

On another battlefield, however, extreme danger was brewing.

The Incredible Hulk was brawling with a bug-like monster.

"I am the Demon-level monster, Bug God!"

A rock-hard carapace, immense strength, and even a second transformation state.

Bug God had completely torn through the human defensive line the moment he appeared. If the Hulk had not arrived in time, the casualties would likely have been disastrous by now.

Even so, the Hulk could only hold off Bug God alone. Other monsters continued their assault. In this situation, the number of superheroes S.W.O.R.D. had was practically a drop in the bucket.

After all, the entire world was under attack by monsters.

In the distance, a monster over a hundred meters tall with bulging muscles all over its body was destroying the city.

It called itself the Demon-level monster Giant Little Brother. With a casual wave of its hand, it could level everything within a radius of hundreds of meters.

After all, in order to endure such terrifying gravity while still maintaining agility, the air itself became a medium for it to transmit its power. To put it simply, for this monster, moving the air was just like pushing a car to crash directly into those towering skyscrapers.
