Cana kicked him in annoyance, clearly thinking he meant that if they all lived together, then when he and Erza got busy at night, Irene as the elder would hear everything.
Kabe caught her restless little foot and said with complete seriousness,
"I'm only stating facts, aren't I? With Irene's strength, even if the soundproofing in the house were perfect, she'd still hear the slightest movement.
And never mind Erza. What about when you and I sneak off to sleep together?
Or are you saying you actually like that, and want someone listening in while you're enjoying yourself?"
"Go die, you idiot! I'm not that much of a pervert!"
Blushing furiously, Cana shoved her foot straight into his face to stop his imagination from running any further.
"B-but... you do have a point.
Even if she couldn't hear anything, just living with an elder like that would still feel awkward.
For example, if she were around, I definitely wouldn't dare do that kind of thing with you in the living room."
Watching Cana get embarrassed while she talked, Kabe could not help showing a wicked grin.
"That kind of thing is nothing. I've got even more interesting things I want to do with you."
"W-what? No way, you want to do it here?!"
Cana's heart jumped, and her face instantly turned burning hot. She immediately tried to pull away and run.
But once the duck had already flown into his mouth, how could Kabe possibly let it escape?
He tightened his grip and pulled Cana back toward him, lowering himself to kiss her...
Rumble...
A sudden and violent shaking interrupted every single thing Kabe had been about to do.
Taking advantage of the brief moment he was stunned, Cana immediately slipped free from his arms.
Watching her dart behind the sofa and stare at him like she was guarding against some kind of criminal, Kabe, whose move had been interrupted halfway through, instantly exploded.
"Who the hell is that?! Causing this much noise next to somebody else's house, do they have no public decency at all?!"
Seething with rage, Kabe let loose a stream of furious insults at the unknown culprit.
Yet he had barely finished cursing when another tremor shook the ground beneath his feet, and the roaring sound came again.
"Damn it. They just won't stop."
Furious enough to burst, Kabe immediately strode to the living room window and looked outside, determined to see which suicidal idiot had dared ruin his good moment.
Cana too was curious to see which hero had just saved her from the tiger's jaws, so she went to another window and looked out.
On the empty land next to Kabe's estate...
A manor, only slightly smaller than Kabe's own, was rising straight up from the ground.
At the entrance to the new manor, Levy stared blankly first at the building, then down at her own hands, and cried out in disbelief,
"T-this... did I really do this?
This is incredible. To build a manor this large, even if I used my Construction Magic at full power, it would still take me most of a day.
But after Aunt Irene enhanced me with her magic, it was done in an instant!!"
It was not only Levy herself. Erza, Mira, Lisanna, Juvia, and the other girls watching nearby all turned in unison to look at Irene with mouths slightly open.
Their eyes were full not only of shock, but even more of pure admiration.
Irene clearly enjoyed the adoring looks from the girls, especially the one from Erza.
She lifted a hand and withdrew the enchantment she had placed on Levy. Then, turning her head with a smile, she said to Erza,
"It was only the most basic form of High Enchantment Magic. If you want to learn, Mama can teach you, you know~"
"Wah... Irene is the coolest!"
Erza's eyes instantly filled with sparkling stars.
