"Whoa… so this talisman is from the Transformers universe," Ethan muttered as another notification faded from his vision.

He frowned slightly as he reviewed the data again.

"Though it looks like crafting this is going to be difficult," Ethan said, projecting a blue holographic blueprint in front of him. He studied it carefully, mumbling under his breath.

"To create it, I'll need Transformium, which I already have. But more importantly, I'll need a massive amount of energy just to stabilize it and push it into a higher-dimensional state. The frequency alignment alone is a nightmare—not to mention I need a constant source of energy."

He rubbed his chin.

"I need the Tesseract to do this properly. Only that level of energy can let me reach the output this talisman expects," Ethan said quietly.

"…Or maybe a particle accelerator."

He shook his head almost immediately.

"No. A particle accelerator won't be enough. Not for this."

His eyes narrowed.

"I still need to get my hands on the Tesseract cube. That thing is basically an infinite energy source—and it's perfect for activating and feeding this talisman."

Ethan exhaled slowly.

"Looks like I have no choice," he said. "I'll have to ask if they have it."

He pulled up his phone and contacted Coulson.

"Coulson," Ethan said as the call connected, "can you come back here? There's something important I need to ask."

On the other end, Coulson—who had just settled into the Helicarrier—sighed lightly.

"…Alright," Coulson replied. "I'm on my way back."

A few minutes later, Coulson arrived back at the Cliff Mansion.

"So," Coulson said as he removed his jacket and found Ethan lounging on the sofa, "what did you want to talk about?"

"I learned about the Tesseract," Ethan said calmly. "The same one the Nazis used—and the one tied to Captain America's last mission."

Coulson's expression sharpened instantly.

"How did you learn about that?" he asked.

"From Grant," Ethan replied without hesitation.

Coulson let out a short breath and nodded. "Yeah… that's true. The Tesseract did exist. Howard Stark recovered it from the ocean while they were searching for Captain America."

He paused, then added more seriously, "Right now, it's locked away in a highly secure S.H.I.E.L.D. containment facility. We call it the Fridge—a storage site for extremely dangerous artifacts."

Coulson looked directly at Ethan.

"And before you ask," he said calmly, "access to it is restricted at the highest level."

"I just need it for one day," Ethan replied.

"It's restricted," Coulson repeated.

"Just one day."

"It's restricted."

"Pretty please?"

"It's still restricted."

"Tch." Ethan clicked his tongue. "Fine. What do you want in return?" he asked.

Coulson smiled faintly.

"Some amount of Vibranium and Transformium."

"Oy, that's a lot," Ethan protested. "I'm only asking for a day, not a lifetime."

"Given your capabilities," Coulson replied evenly, "it's more than reasonable. We're letting it be in your hands for a full twenty-four hours."

Right now, Coulson was on comms with Fury—Director Fury silently giving his approval through a series of instructions. Of course, Ethan had no idea about that part.

"Still, I can't give you the Transformium. I'm keeping it secret from the world for now," Ethan said.

"Hm… fine," Coulson nodded. "Then Vibranium it is."

"Okay. When can I get it?" Ethan asked.

"You can get it in another hour," Coulson replied."I've already assigned one of our capable men. He'll retrieve it for you."

Ask him why he wants it, Fury said through the comms.

Coulson looked back at Ethan."So… why do you want it?"

"I'm working on a new project," Ethan explained. "I need a great source of energy. I tried particle accelerator, but they failed. So I need the Tesseract. I learned it stores a near-infinite amount of energy."

"But we still haven't found a proper way to use that energy," Coulson said.

"That's why I'm asking for a day," Ethan replied calmly. "I'll figure out how to use it safely—and then apply it to my project."

Ask him if it's a weapon, Fury's voice came through.

Coulson studied Ethan for a moment."This project of yours… is it a weapon?"

"No," Ethan answered without hesitation. "A defensive measure."

Coulson's eyes narrowed slightly."What's the difference for you? Your defensive measures are usually more powerful than most weapons out there."

"Hm. You're right," Ethan admitted with a nod.

"So," Coulson said flatly, "it is a weapon."

"Armor," Ethan corrected. "Like the Iron Man armor—but more advanced. You've seen the War Machine suit I made, right?"

Coulson nodded slowly."I see. You want to make a much better defensive suit. Still… what kind of defensive measures are you working on that require an infinite source of energy just to use the armor?"

"It's not for powering it," Ethan said. "It's for making it. I need to mold and transform materials during construction. Recently, I learned how to create certain components—but they need to be energized continuously for long periods."

He looked straight at Coulson.

"And nothing on Earth emits that level of stable energy for that long… except the Tesseract."

"You need it to make the armor," Coulson said, nodding slowly. "Now I really wonder what exactly you're planning to create."

"Don't worry," Ethan chuckled. "I'll show you."

Soon, time passed, and the Tesseract finally arrived.

"Ethan, meet Hawkeye—Clint Barton. He's one of our best agents," Coulson said.

Ethan stepped forward and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you."

"So you're the new prodigy?" Clint said with a faint smirk.

Ethan smiled in return, shaking his head slightly.

"I still have a lot to learn."

Hawkeye placed a reinforced case on the table.

"Here it is—the Tesseract Cube," he said as he opened the biometric lock.

Inside rested a glowing blue cube.

Ethan scanned it, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"So this is the Tesseract," he said.

Hawkeye immediately warned him, "Don't try to touch it with your bare hands. You'll get vaporized."

Ethan nodded calmly.

He activated his watch, and a faint, transparent energy field unfolded around his hand. Only then did he lift the cube.

As soon as he picked it up, Ethan looked at it.

"The energy density… it's insane. This thing really is on another level."
