Sharon lowered her hands slowly, still breathing a little fast.

"…So I can absorb energy and shoot it back through my eyes," she said, trying to wrap her head around it.

"Looks like it," Ethan replied. He put the gun in the drawer and walked closer, keeping a cautious distance just in case. "But we need to figure out how much you can store… and what sets it off."

Sharon nodded, rubbing her arms as if trying to feel the energy under her skin.

"I didn't even decide to shoot. It just happened. The moment it built up too much, it came out on its own."

Ethan frowned.

"That's not great. If you can't control the output, you could fire beams in the middle of a conversation. Or while sleeping."

Sharon's eyes widened.

"…Okay, now I'm scared. I don't want to wake up and blast a hole in my apartment."

Ethan pointed at her eyes.

"We'll need to train you to control the release. Maybe focus on holding back the energy instead of letting it pile up."

Sharon looked down at her hands, clenching them into fists.

"So I need to learn how to NOT explode?"

"Pretty much," Ethan said with a shrug. "Think of it like… pressure. Build it up, hold it, release only when you want. But right now you're more like a shaken soda can with no lid."

Sharon groaned.

"Great. I always wanted to be a living soda can."

Ethan chuckled slightly, then turned serious again.

"Let's test something else. Try jumping."

"Jumping?" Sharon raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"If the energy strengthened your muscles, your physical abilities might be higher too. And we need to know your limits before you break something by accident."

Sharon rolled her shoulders, took a breath, then jumped straight up.

The first jump sent her almost to the ceiling—way higher than she expected.

She landed awkwardly and had to take two steps back to keep her balance.

"…Okay," she said slowly. "That's definitely not normal."

Ethan wrote a note on a tablet.

"Enhanced strength confirmed. Maybe speed too."

Sharon glanced at the damaged wall again, then at Ethan.

"So… what now? Training montage? Tests? A whole list of powers?"

Ethan nodded once.

"All of that. But first—food and rest. You burned a lot of energy today."

Sharon let out a tired sigh of relief.

"Finally something I can agree with."

Ethan gave a half-smile.

"And after you eat, we start checking what else you can do. Carefully."

Sharon groaned again, but it turned into a small laugh."As long as it doesn't involve more lasers coming out of my face without warning."

"That's definitely something we don't want," Ethan replied. He told her to go rest, but not before collecting her blood samples.

"Go. In the meantime, I'll check if you need any stabilizers," he said as she nodded and walked off.

After Sharon left, Ethan placed her blood sample into the analyzer machine. A few minutes passed before the results finally came out.

"Hm… the cells are fully stabilized. Good—no secondary reactions," Ethan muttered, relieved as he reviewed the data.He ran a few more tests just to be sure, and everything came back clear. Sharon was perfectly healthy—just enhanced.

"Thankfully it was nothing extreme," he said under his breath.

He leaned back and glanced at the reinforced walls, remembering the earlier blast."Hmm… I need more detailed data to understand exactly what she can do now."

He walked over to his workstation and opened the CCTV footage. Unlike regular cameras, his were equipped with advanced scanners. The footage displayed layered data of the energy beams she released.

"The energy beams vibrated the molecules of the wall… so it's actually a vibration-based energy beam," Ethan looked at the data. "As it travels through any medium, it supercharges the molecules in its path. In this case, it over-vibrates the air, generating friction and heat, which then causes combustion—and that's what scorched the surface." Ethan nodded at the readout.

He switched to another scan that tracked Sharon's energy intake and release.

"She absorbs kinetic energy, stores it, and her hair acts like a capacitor… then her eyes release it as a focused beam."

He leaned back in his chair, processing the results.

"Her power is actually pretty good—though potentially dangerous, given how unstable it is right now."

Ethan saved the data and started typing notes into his personal research log.

He paused for a moment and stared at the screen.

"If she releases that energy without meaning to… someone could get seriously hurt," he said quietly. "I need to build a safety limiter—or at least something that helps her control output."

He rubbed his eyes, stretched, and stood up.

There was still work to do.

First, he checked the medical readouts again—everything remained stable. No signs of cell decay, no abnormal mutations, no unusual brainwave spikes. Her enhanced DNA looked consistent.

"Good. At least her system won't collapse on itself," he said with a small nod.

Ethan closed the lab for the night and went toward the small break room with his tablet in hand, still reading data.

"Maybe I can build her something like what that Cyclops mutant guy has—the shades that help him control his laser-type powers," he muttered. "Though I need accurate readings first."

He placed the tablet aside and let the data process on its own while he worked.

Sharon slept in the break room the whole time, her breathing normal and her body less strained than before.

After about an hour, Sharon returned to the lab, looking more awake. Ethan looked up from his work, and when she opened the door he asked,

"So, how are you feeling now?"

"Much better now," she replied.

Ethan nodded.

"Okay then, let's run some tests on your body."

He attached several sensor wires to her arms, back, and legs to monitor her vitals.

Once everything was connected, he pointed toward the treadmill.

"Alright, start with a light jog," he said. "I'll monitor how your body reacts under physical activity."
