Chapter 158 -  Drake Completely Confused!

The Seven Swordsmen Are Headed for Tragedy!**

At the dining table.

Four people were seated together.

Drake glanced at Minako.

She responded by giving him a flirtatious wink.

"…Not Minako."

Drake immediately ruled her out.

Next, he turned his attention to Kushina-senpai.

"What's wrong with you?"

Kushina asked, giving him a strange look.

"Nothing."

Drake shook his head and shifted his gaze to Hinata Lingyin.

"Huh? Why are you staring at me?"

Lingyin looked completely puzzled.

"Damn it…"

Drake cursed inwardly.

Last night, he hadn't activated his perception at all.

As a result, he had no idea who he actually slept with.

After all, the three women had fairly similar figures, the room had enhanced illusion barriers, and it had been pitch-black.

No matter how he thought about it, he couldn't figure it out.

After a moment of struggle, Drake stood up.

"Kushina-senpai, come here for a second."

He pulled Kushina into a room and asked cautiously,

"Kushina-senpai… who slept in the room on the left last night?"

"You don't know?"

Kushina smiled faintly.

"I really don't. If you tell me, I swear I won't sell you out."

Drake made a solemn promise.

"Actually… I don't know either."

Kushina shrugged and walked out.

"…What?"

Drake was absolutely certain—

Kushina knew.

She just wasn't saying anything.

With no other choice, he dragged Minako into the room next.

"Minako, who slept in the room on the left last night?"

"I don't know~ I went to bed very early."

Minako spread her hands innocently.

Even without a clear answer, Drake had mostly reached a conclusion.

Logically speaking, it should've been Lingyin.

But what he couldn't understand was—

why Lingyin was acting so calm.

She didn't seem like someone who had just spent the night with him.

So finally, Drake pulled Lingyin into the room.

"Lingyin, tell me honestly—

which room did you sleep in last night?"

"I slept together with Kushina-senpai,"

Lingyin replied casually.

Drake's mind went blank.

Completely.

By the time he left Happy Hot Bath, he still hadn't figured anything out.

"Women really are terrifying when they get crafty,"

Drake muttered, rubbing his chin.

He decided not to think about it anymore.

After all, he didn't lose anything.

And whoever it was—she was a woman.

Walking through the street, Drake glanced at his status panel.

Spirit: 40,960 (×) [Secondary Tier]

"…Still spirit doubling?"

"But this makes no sense."

From Drake's perspective, with over forty thousand spirit points, he should've already reached Six Paths-level immunity.

So why was he still classified as secondary tier?

After some thought, he came to a conclusion.

"Mental defense is passive."

"So it probably requires an even higher attribute value to fully resist spiritual attacks."

That explanation made the most sense.

Just then—

Tap, tap, tap.

Obito came running over, looking extremely anxious.

"Drake, something happened."

"Hm?"

Drake raised an eyebrow.

"The clan leader took a large number of people out of the village—

they went to the Mist battlefield."

"…Isn't that normal?"

Drake was confused.

The Uchiha were responsible for the Mist front.

Fugaku personally leading the troops was expected.

"I heard from a clansman that the Mist released a Tailed Beast,"

Obito said urgently.

"A Tailed Beast?"

Drake frowned slightly.

"The Three-Tails?"

"Most likely!"

"…The Mist are courting death,"

Drake sighed.

Then he added calmly,

"You really don't need to worry."

"Huh?"

Obito looked stunned.

"Did you forget? Your clan's genjutsu prodigy is on that battlefield,"

"and Minato-sensei is there too."

"What are you panicking for?"

Obito froze—then suddenly realized.

"Oh… right! How did I forget Shisui?"

"You should trust your clansmen,"

Drake said earnestly.

"And trust Minato-sensei."

With that, Drake jumped into the air and began flying.

"Where are you going?"

Obito shouted.

"To take a look at the Mist battlefield."

After leaving that sentence behind, Drake shot off with a whoosh.

"I'm coming too!"

Obito leapt into the air and followed closely behind.

Mist Battlefield

Near a massive mountain range—

The Three-Tails was rampaging wildly.

The strange thing was that it wasn't just attacking Konoha ninja.

Even Mist ninja were within its range of destruction.

"What the hell is going on?"

Zabuza Momochi's successor, Biwako Jūzō, looked completely dumbfounded.

"Didn't they say the Three-Tails was under control?"

"Who knows what the sealing unit messed up,"

Samehada's wielder Kisame Hoshigaki replied, equally confused.

"The sealing unit is already wiped out,"

Raiga Kurosuki said with a headache.

"This thing doesn't distinguish friend from foe at all."

As the main force of the Mist's surprise attack,

the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had run straight into both the Uchiha forces and Minato.

To gain an advantage, they had ordered the sealing unit to release the captured Three-Tails.

The result?

The Three-Tails smashed the sealing unit to death on the spot—

then began indiscriminately attacking everything.

Not only were the Seven Swordsmen stunned—

Even Minato's side felt speechless.

"It looks like the Mist only captured the Three-Tails,"

Shisui Uchiha said calmly.

"They never actually controlled it."

"Shisui, can your genjutsu control the Three-Tails?"

Minato asked.

"Not right now."

Shisui shook his head while observing the rampaging beast.

"Its chakra is far too chaotic."

"So that's why."

"If it were calm, I'd have some confidence,"

Shisui explained.

"But in its current state, even the Sharingan can't control it."

After a brief pause, he added,

"If my Sharingan evolved into the Mangekyō…

this would be easy."

"You really say whatever you want, don't you?"

Minato laughed helplessly.

That kind of statement should've been a closely guarded Uchiha secret.

But Shisui said it openly.

In Minato's eyes—

Shisui was simply too pure.

Meanwhile, the Three-Tails continued its destruction,

its chakra seemingly endless.

Both sides withdrew to a distance.

Mist side—

"This isn't working,"

Jinpachi Munashi rubbed his forehead.

"That thing's blasting the mountains instead."

"Yeah, it's barely hurting Konoha at all,"

Kushimaru Kuriarare agreed.

"I've got an idea,"

Biwako Jūzō suddenly spoke.

"Oh? Let's hear it."

The other six urged him on.

"It's simple,"

he said with a grin.

"While the Three-Tails keeps wrecking things here—

we go around and attack Konoha Village itself."

The others' eyes lit up instantly.

That's right.

Konoha's high-level combat forces were all deployed on the front lines.

The village itself would be nearly empty.

If the Seven Ninja Swordsmen caused chaos there—

Their names would shake the entire ninja world.

"Hahahaha—"

"At last, it's time for the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist

to make history!"
