The Gold Dragon let out a deep, rumbling growl that vibrated through the stone beneath Lambert's feet. Its voice, ancient and calm, carried the weight of centuries.
"Look carefully, Lambert. Fire, water, earth, wind, lightning. Five elements moving in perfect harmony, like five rivers feeding one ocean." The dragon's golden eyes narrowed. "In this world… how many beings can even claim such mastery?"
Lambert's throat tightened.
"There is only one."
The words landed heavier than any blow he had ever taken. Color drained from his face. His breath came in shallow, ragged pulls as his gaze snapped back to the glowing sphere hurtling toward them.

*A Demigod.*
The truth crashed over him like icy water.
"The Zheng of the Desmont Mountains…" The name slipped from his lips, barely a whisper.
"But why would the Zheng appear here. Why would such a beast be on Kiara's side and..."
