The sharp report of the gunshot cut through the quiet air.
A 7.9mm round erupted from the upper barrel like a streak of lightning, the projectile slicing through the space between them in a blink. The bullet struck the rock with explosive speed, drilling straight through its surface before disappearing out the other side.
The spent casing clinked softly as it fell to the ground.
