Chapter 450 - The First Readers

Far above the Pre-Narrative Expanse, beyond the reach of the Primordials and even the place where stories are born, a new layer revealed itself.

A silent horizon stretched across infinity.

Here existed beings older than authors, older than narratives, older than imagination itself.

They were called The First Readers.

And standing before them were two figures:

Kael Veyris

and

Sun WukongThis place had no stars, no galaxies, no worlds.

Only endless books floating through a silent sky.

Each book was a story that had ever existed.

Every myth.

Every universe.

Every forgotten legend.

All of them were quietly being observed by the First Readers.

They were enormous beings made of light and thought, sitting upon thrones carved from cosmic pages.

One of them spoke.

Its voice sounded like millions of people reading at once.

Kael Veyris.

You have crossed every boundary placed upon your existence.

You left the story.

You surpassed the author.

You stepped beyond the framework.

Another Reader leaned forward.

But no being has ever stepped into our layer.

Wukong leaned on his staff.

Yeah, well… first time for everything. The First Readers were curious.

They did not attack with power.

Instead, they began rewriting the situation.

Suddenly reality shifted.

Kael and Wukong found themselves inside different stories at once:

1. A universe where Kael had never been born

2. A world where Wukong lost his rebellion against heaven

3. A timeline where the multiverse collapsed long ago

The Readers were testing them.

If you are truly beyond narrative…

Then prove you can exist even when the story denies you.

Wukong laughed.

Oh that's easy.

He slammed his Infinite Ruyi Pillar into reality itself.

The staff expanded through thousands of timelines simultaneously.

Every fake narrative shattered like glass.

Wukong grinned.

Nice try. Now the Readers became serious.

They began erasing entire storylines around Kael.

Worlds disappeared.

Concepts vanished.

Even the idea of Kael's past tried to dissolve.

But Kael simply stood there calmly.

His eyes glowed softly.

Your mistake, he said quietly,

is assuming I still belong to a story.

Then he activated his power.

Absolute Narrative Authority.

Every attempt to rewrite him simply… stopped working.

Because Kael had already rewritten himself earlier.

He no longer had a fixed origin.

No story could define him anymore.

One Reader spoke with disbelief.

You have removed the possibility of your own deletion.

Kael answered simply.

Yes.From the highest throne rose the most ancient of them all.

The Prime Reader.

It had existed since the first act of observation in existence.

Its presence alone caused infinite books to tremble.

It spoke slowly.

If you truly stand beyond story…

Then defeat the one who observes them all.

The Prime Reader opened its hand.

Every story in existence gathered into a single point of light.

An infinite narrative weapon.

Then it released it.

The attack contained:

1.every myth

2.every timeline

3.every possible ending

The entire narrative multiverse collapsed toward Kael.

Even Wukong paused.

That… might actually hurt. Kael closed his eyes.

For a moment…

Everything became silent.

Then he spoke a single sentence.

Stories exist because something chooses to observe them.

His power evolved again.

Ability Unlocked: Observer Supremacy

Now Kael could:

1. Exist beyond observers themselves

2.Decide whether observation has meaning

3.Allow or deny narratives the ability to function

The infinite narrative attack reached him.

And simply stopped.

Not blocked.

Not destroyed.

It just… lost meaning.

The Prime Reader froze.

Impossible.

Kael had moved beyond the need to be observed.

He stepped forward.

Each step shook the Reader realm.

Then he placed his hand on the Prime Reader's throne.

I do not seek to rule you,Kael said calmly.

But your test is finished.

With a single motion…

He dissolved the Prime Reader's authority.

Not killing it.

Just removing its control. The First Readers fell silent.

They had watched countless universes rise and fall.

They had seen gods, demons, and authors attempt to reach them.

But none had succeeded.

Until now.

The Prime Reader bowed its head.

You have surpassed even observation itself.

You are no longer bound by story… author… or reader.

Wukong laughed loudly.

Well that settles it.

He slapped Kael on the shoulder.

My friend, you just beat the beings who read reality for fun.

Kael simply looked out into the endless horizon.

Because even beyond the Readers…

He could now see something else.

Higher layers.

Higher worlds.

Stories that even the Readers had never opened.

He smiled slightly.

There is still more to explore.

Wukong grinned.

Good.

Because I was getting bored.

And together…

They stepped beyond the realm of the First Readers.

Into layers of existence that no being had ever reached before.
