My heart is racing so fast that I think it might explode.
Mother, Aunt Ærella, Nayeesha, and I walk through the castle hall in silence, but I can barely hear the sound of our footsteps against the stone.
All I can think about is Luceris.
His eyes… his face… his voice.
Knowing that he's here inside these walls, only moments away from me, makes it almost impossible for me to even breathe normally.
Gods I've missed him so much.
The moment we turn the corner, I freeze.
There he is… standing at the opposite end of the hall.
The moment our eyes lock, my heart melts inside my chest in a way that almost hurts, and for one impossible moment, it feels as if I'm dreaming.
He starts walking toward me and I do too.
The distance between us suddenly feels too long. And with every step I take, I fight the urge to run to him and throw myself into his arms.
By the time we finally reach each other I can't hold it anymore.
