Azeria's chambers are quieter than the rest of the palace.
Or maybe they only seem that way because my mind is somewhere else entirely.
Azeria and Nayeesha are sitting across from me. They've been talking for a while now but I haven't heard a single word either of them is saying.
Because my thoughts keep circling back to the same thing.
The dragons.
No matter how hard I try, I can't stop thinking about the way they looked at me.
The way they moved toward me. .
The way they lowered themselves and crooned while nuzzling against me.
"Agnarath and Dawnstar are celestial creatures. It seems they can sense what you carry inside you."
Seraphim's words still haven't left me.
And every time they echo in my mind, a chill runs down my spine because if creatures like that can sense what is inside me…
What else can?
As I stare out the tall window into the moonlit sky, my thoughts drift to Seraphim and Ærella.
I want to know more about both of them.
