Gianna jerked slightly as Zane's deep whisper brushed the shell of her ear. A wave of heat instantly flooded her entire body, racing clear down to her fingertips.
Before she could even register a response, Zane moved past her, casually strolling across the room to stand beside Sandro—acting as though he hadn't just destabilized her composure. He clearly didn't want to tip off their friends that a dangerous, electrically charged camaraderie had ignited between them.
In truth, Gianna had felt him step into the room the exact moment he crossed the threshold behind her. She always knew when Zane entered a space. Her senses seemed to involuntarily hone in on his presence, and even if her instincts failed, his intoxicating, signature scent of smoked vanilla and dark cedar was enough to give him away.
