Chapter 112 - The Netherworld White Tiger and the Bloodline Seizure

The various disputes within the academy gradually subsided after the competition between Su Cheng and Zhu Zhuqing.

  Soon, nearly two years passed.

With the aid of the Nirvana Sutra and various medicines, Su Cheng and Zhu Zhuqing's cultivation progressed extremely rapidly.

They had both now broken through to level twenty, able to add a second soul ring to their martial souls.

During this time, Su Cheng also continuously improved his Nirvana Sutra, and every so often,

he would teach it to Zhu Zhuqing under the guise of Zhu Hongtao. Zhu Zhuqing had already told Su Cheng about passing on the technique.

He, of course, didn't say much about it.

Afterwards, Zhu Zhuqing would tell Su Cheng the revised technique word for word, leaving him somewhat amused and exasperated.

Zhu Zhuqing naturally had her doubts about Zhu Hongtao's ability to improve the technique.

She hadn't expected her father to be so accomplished in this area.

In her view, the existence of this cultivation technique itself was already ridiculously powerful. At least, she had never heard of any technique that could accelerate cultivation or even purify the quality of a martial soul.

For her father, with his cultivation level of only a Soul Douluo, to be able to optimize and perfect the original technique was simply a miracle.

Su Cheng naturally offered his explanation for her doubts.

He had hinted to Zhu Zhuqing long ago that he had conducted in-depth research on martial souls, and the improvement of this technique was due to that.

Although this reason seemed somewhat far-fetched, there was no shortage of research-oriented talent in the world, so it was plausible.

Most importantly, Zhu Zhuqing now trusted and admired her father immensely, and these minor flaws were mostly overlooked subconsciously.

The Nirvana Scripture was now vastly different from the past.

Besides the increased cultivation speed, its greatest effect was in purifying bloodlines.

Both Su Cheng and Zhu Zhuqing had now significantly improved the quality of their martial souls,

reaching a level close to the eighth level of innate soul power.

This improvement, seemingly less than a level, is actually quite significant.

After all, while their martial soul quality can't compare to top geniuses with innate soul power at level nine or even the maximum,

it's still among the pinnacle of talent in this world.

The lower the bloodline purity, the easier it is to improve.

The same applies to soul masters with innate soul power below level one; improving their martial soul quality by two or three levels is effortless.

Even bottlenecks that would otherwise be insurmountable throughout their lives can be easily overcome with the help of this technique.

Moreover, they've only been practicing the Nirvana Scripture for two years now, leaving plenty of time to continue improving.

However, Su Cheng predicts that once their martial soul quality breaks through to level eight, the rate of improvement will slow down considerably.

And after level nine, further improvement will be incredibly difficult.

But this is only the main function of the Nirvana Scripture at this stage.

It's merely a foundation, not Su Cheng's ultimate goal.

His future research on this technique will focus on optimizing the core essence of the martial soul.

Only in this way can he truly apply this technique to reality in the future.

His original Longevity Sword Martial Soul and Innate Array Diagram Martial Soul are already of extremely high quality, and he doesn't need these things to further enhance them.

However, these two twin Martial Souls may not be able to perfectly match and form a Martial Soul Fusion Skill.

Or rather, it is highly unlikely that they could perfectly match in the first place.

This requires the help of some external forces to achieve the final goal.

Of course, there is a big difference between weapon Martial Souls and beast Martial Souls.

From the perspective of bloodline feedback alone, the influence of beast Martial Souls is far greater than that of weapon Martial Souls.

This influence has both good and bad aspects.

But from Su Cheng's personal preference, he still prefers the way weapon Martial Souls are used, which have less impact on himself.

After arriving in the Soul Hunting Forest of the Star Luo Empire, Su Cheng looked at Zhu Zhuqing walking beside him and said lightly, "Zhuqing, we can try to absorb a soul ring across time limits."

"Absorb a soul ring across time limits?" Zhu Zhuqing was a little surprised when she heard this. "What do you mean by that?"

"It means exactly what it says. We can absorb the soul ring of a soul beast that is over nine hundred years old as our second soul ring."

"?" Zhu Zhuqing was slightly stunned.

"Your Zhu family has inherited cultivation techniques, and our Su family also has some inherited secret methods. By stimulating the body with medicine and external substances, we can temporarily increase our physical strength, thereby absorbing the soul rings of higher-age soul beasts. After absorption is complete, we use soul power to nourish ourselves, making up for the temporary overdraft of our physical potential, without any aftereffects,"

  Su Cheng explained slowly.

"Since you are willing to share your cultivation methods and medicines to accelerate cultivation with me, and we have a common short-term goal, then I don't want to keep my knowledge to myself. With the power of our Martial Soul Fusion Technique, killing a nine-hundred-year-old soul beast should be easy, right?"

Seeing that Zhu Zhuqing looked dazed and did not answer, Su Cheng assumed she did not believe him and was not offended.

He continued, "It's alright, I'll absorb it first, you just watch. Once I'm done and everything's fine, you can go absorb your second soul ring."

"..." Zhu Zhuqing gave Su Cheng a deep look and said in a low voice, "Su Cheng, don't underestimate me. Whoever encounters a soul beast that's suitable will absorb it."

In the past two years, their relationship hadn't become closer, but a strange tacit understanding had formed.

Su Cheng's attitude towards Zhu Zhuqing had never changed.

He would still mock her when necessary, and his words were often harsh.

But he never hindered her; she cultivated as she pleased.

Even their Martial Soul Fusion Technique was now extremely smooth and coordinated.

However, Zhu Zhuqing's feelings towards Su Cheng were extremely complex.

Before, he was almost like a demon, looming over her mind like a heavy shadow that she couldn't shake off.

But now, they were comrades striving for the same goal.     No matter how much they outwardly disliked each other, their work styles and goals were remarkably aligned.

Indeed, the term "comrade-in-arms" was extremely apt.

Not friends, not partners, and even their ultimate goals differed.

Yet, at this moment, she was willing to unconditionally trust Su Cheng, daring to entrust her back to him.

Looking at the spotted cat with over nine hundred years of cultivation before him, Su Cheng chuckled.

"Looks like you really need to absorb it first."

He glanced at Zhu Zhuqing, "Ready?"

Seeing her nod, Su Cheng's body trembled slightly.

With a low growl, the White Tiger Martial Soul emerged from his body.

Simultaneously, white fur and black tiger stripes surged wildly from within him.

Beside him, Zhu Zhuqing was enveloped in black light, her Netherworld Cat Martial Soul appearing.

Then, she charged towards Su Cheng.

Su Cheng opened his arms, meeting Zhu Zhuqing's illusory figure.

Then, the two figures merged, the auras of the White Tiger and Netherworld Cat Martial Souls completely merging at that moment.

In the next instant, a breathtaking energy surge swept out.

Su Cheng and Zhu Zhuqing's bodies vanished the moment they merged, leaving only a gigantic white tiger in place.

The white tiger was over six meters long, with a shoulder height of two meters, its entire body transparent, white fur with black stripes, and its purple eyes flashing with cold light.

It was coldly staring at the ferocious spotted cat before it.

  The battle ended quickly.

The Netherworld White Tiger simply raised its right paw and slowly slapped it down.

  "Crack!"

Under the palm's reach, the spotted cat's tiny figure had no chance to dodge and was instantly smashed to pieces.

A moment later, a yellow spirit ring appeared.

After unleashing this attack, the Netherworld White Tiger vanished instantly, and Su Cheng and Zhu Zhuqing reappeared.

Both of them were slightly tired, but there were no major aftereffects.

They had already used the Spirit Fusion Technique many times before.

Now they could clearly control the energy after fusion.

Looking at the nine-hundred-year spirit ring that appeared on the spotted cat's corpse, Zhu Zhuqing's eyes flickered.

Su Cheng tossed over the silver needles and auxiliary potions.

"Just focus on absorbing your spirit rings; I'll protect you from the outside."

Su Cheng now had a profound understanding of spirit fusion techniques.

The essence of spirit fusion was actually spirit completion, not bloodline advancement.

This was inspired by the Golden Sacred Dragon spirit fusion technique of the three golden trio: Yu Xiaogang, Flander, and Liu Erlong.

Yu Xiaogang's spirit, Luo Sanpao, was originally a product of failed spirit evolution.

However, after fusing Liu Erlong's Fire Dragon spirit and Flander's Owl spirit, it could briefly achieve the powerful form of the Golden Sacred Dragon.

Why did this spirit fusion technique use Yu Xiaogang, the one with the lowest cultivation level, as its core?

Because the core information of the Golden Sacred Dragon resided within Luo Sanpao.

This was enough to demonstrate that spirit fusion techniques didn't value the strength of the user.

In fact, it wasn't just that; even the strength level, spirit ring configuration, and mental strength level of the participating spirit masters were unimportant.

These data only affect the strength of the final Martial Soul Fusion Skill, but have no impact on the fusion process itself.

The most crucial element is the essence of the information originating from the Martial Soul.

Su Cheng's focus on this point is naturally not about the fusion skill itself, but about bloodline acquisition.

The prerequisite for bloodline acquisition is that this Martial Soul Fusion Skill is feasible.

Otherwise, fusing bloodlines will be harmful and will only lead to a mixed bloodline.

Su Cheng had already discovered this in the last simulation. The

so-called malignant mutation of the Martial Soul is not only caused by the Martial Soul of one of the parents being too weak. Rather,

it is caused by the accumulation of impurities in the bloodline as the Martial Soul is passed down from generation to generation, leading to the degeneration of the Martial Soul.

Purifying the bloodline to achieve ancestral reversion often represents a benign mutation.

The most crucial point in acquiring bloodlines is to achieve perfect complementarity of this inherited information.

Can the White Tiger and the Netherworld Cat do this?

There is no doubt about it.

The Martial Soul Fusion Skill of the Dai and Zhu families, passed down through generations, is perfect proof.

As for just how powerful the Netherworld White Tiger would be after bloodline fusion, the sheer power of the bloodline fusion technique was enough to give him a glimpse, something he had already deeply experienced over the past year.

"How powerful would a Netherworld White Tiger be if it were wielded by one person? Could it even reach the threshold of a divine-level martial soul..."

Su Cheng leaned against a large tree at the edge of the forest, staring blankly at the weeds swaying in the wind in the distance, his mind wandering wildly.
