Red finished looting and retrieving his arrow from the bodies. He turned around, looking at the house that was still on fire. He expected the kobold to rush over to find him, but he hadn't seen any coming for him.
'Do they think I am dead inside that fire?'
That was a possibility as to why the kobold stopped coming for him. But soon he found out that was just wishful thinking because three kobolds walked through the side of the fire.
They seemed to be looking at the ruined house at first, but one of them spotted him in the distance. Eight kobold bodies around him, and he was ready with his bow and arrow.
The moment they turned toward him, Red fired his first arrow. His right hand was already moved, taking the second arrow. When the second arrow was nocked on his bow, his first arrow hit a bullseye. It landed right between the eyes.
