Shuiss watched Sawa head off into the woods and shook his head. He had seen him lurking at Ganne's hut and couldn't approve.
The woman was deceptively dangerous.
Adept at leading prey to the slaughter, he recognized the skills of another killer. The only difference between him and Ganne was that he only lured prey to hunt and Ganne targeted people. If Sawa wasn't more careful, he might end up hunted.
Shuiss stretched out his snake form. He wasn't really supposed to shift in the city, but what others didn't see couldn't be reported. When Ganne had made the rule that men had to stay in their beastman form, he hadn't liked it.
There was nothing he could do, though since Urse followed whatever Ganne wanted. Being the strongest beastman in the city, there was nothing he or his hut mates could do.
And Urse was irrationally in love with his mate. At one time, he thought that Urse would join with their family but with the appearance of Ganne, he forgot about their friendship.
