"I messed up." I pace back and forth on the the desert floor. I have no clue where Lilith has taken me, just that there's a lot of red sand. Like, a LOT of sand. Also coral isn't supposed to grow on land is it? Because why are coral trees sprouting out of the ground?
"Yeah kinda." Lilith taps her finger on her side with her eyes closed. Her voice makes it pretty clear that she's mad at me. Also I can sense that flame in her flaring up, mixing with the land around us until they become inseparable.
"I shouldn't have done that. Oh no oh no oh no. What have I done?" I feel myself getting out of breath with my panic. But it's not just that. The air itself is 'less' now. I don't really know how to describe it but that's what it is.
"Yeah, almost like you should have stayed out of all of this! Maybe next time when a genius tells you not to do something, you listen to her! Only you went above and beyond! Because of you there might not even be a next time!" Gold dust rises from her body as she grows into a taller, more muscular form. She looks down at me with anger clear in her black eyes. I back away slowly and put my hands up.
"I-I didn't mean for this to happen." I push back tears and fall over on my butt. The sand feels like it's burning my hands, not that something like that is my biggest concern right now. "I just wanted to help people!".
"And look how that turned out! All because your ego couldn't imagine just being weak!" I feel the wand vibrate, all my kaiju growling in rage.
"That want it! I couldn't help people if I was weak! If I was weak I couldn't have saved you! I didn't know it would go like this!" What the hell does she know about being weak?! She's the absolute last person I want to hear this from!
"You shouldn't have saved me! Clearly everything would be better if you never got that thing!" She breaks into a chuckle. "I was an idiot. I let some stupid crush get in the way of my plans." She covers her mouth with one of her red hands.
"Crush?".
"I should never have given it up. But I can still fix this." She stares up at the sky with a serene smile. "But they need a strong leader. Someone who can bring them together before Louhi properly finishes." I don't think she's talking to me anymore. Maybe I could just sneak away… nope! Can't move! "I've got to head back and get Misty first. Mum will be a pain in the ass but I know I can get her in line." Mum?! "We can use you to get to the ranger force." She slightly tilts her head my way.
"Why me?! Your the same aren't you?! We can both transform!" She's not actually going to hand me over to them is she?!
"Well for one your the one who just awakened and started the ritual. I don't think you understand that anyone who's anyone is looking for you right now. And secondly, we aren't the same…" her voice changes slightly to that happy confidence she usually has. At this point I end up transforming without really meaning to. A bunch of building sized kaiju immediately pounce at her, spewing lava and lightning. Like some sort of Wild West quick draw she summons a faceless silver clone of herself. The clone releases a wall of ice from her hand, creating a massive explosion of steam when the elements collide. I manage to fly away before the gas burns me. At the edge where the steam gets thin enough to see through, I can see the sand start to crystallise and form into spikes poking out of the ground. That can't be normal. I try and fly higher to create some distance but some threads wrap around my arms, pulling me down. I summon Raven to cut them and block and incoming punch. He parries Liliths punch with his wing and returns with one of his own. When their fists collide it creates a shockwave that sends me flying away. The winds the clash creates forms sandstorms pushing out in all directions. I get an idea and quietly apologise to Raven as he gets mind controlled by Lilith, the rest of the initial kaiju having been broken down by her. I summon me fizzards to blast the sand she's surrounded with. The heat immediately causes a reaction, crystal spikes form everywhere in the air. I wince when I realise that both Lilith and Raven have been stabbed and inpaled dozens of times in the newly formed cage. But I know they aren't that easy to kill. And I know with this power I can heal them. It's already here, might as well use it while I can. With a bit of effort she flexes and shatters the cage. I summon Saphire to block the supersonic shrapnel. At this point golden tornadoes are zooming around everywhere and armour it creeping up her body. With a single twitch of her finger a thread cuts through Saphires left wing. While she grows it back quickly that's not really what I'm focusing on. That thread cutting through the ground and sky, separating the clouds and the desert. Rumblimg and shaking and lava form from the tiny line that stretches into the horizon. She cut the entire landmass in half. All that over a fight?! How far does she expect us to take this?! And why is she smiling?! Where's she going now?! And then a spotlight shines on me from above and I can see several ships flying overhead. Oh dang, she wasn't kidding. The ranger force got her shockingly fast. Well this could be worse I guess, if I'm gonna have to fight on my own I might as well have some training dummies.
