I make a basic silk pouch on my back to carry Allister. I can't exactly leave a talking cat running around. I fly up with Sapphire, her large wingspan smashing through any gold or stone in her way. Kaiju roars and stampedes are the only things I can hear, except for the squelching of any of them Sapphire tears through when she leaves the canyon.
"How…" I have to stop talking when all the dust in the air gets in my nose. To the west it's impossible to tell how many Kaiju there really are, very few of them can clearly stand over the dust. The only ones that can are S classes, some of which look concerningly like big turtle. To the east the skies are black with fire, lightning and smoke. Kaiju of all sort are destroying anything they come across, even the super durable architecture. Down by the now demolished wall I can see Satoshi and Misty fighting what Kaiju they can. Theres a huge red tree Kaiju that looks like it's keeping them on the defensive. Its vines create sonic booms with every swing and any Kaiju it hits seems to wither to a husk. I look from them to the city, I can't see any ranger force people. Where are they?! What's taking them so long?!
"Get out of my way flea bag!" I hear Satoshi yell.
"Don't test me pointy!" Misty yells back as she casually dashes a vine swipe. In a split decision i summon as many kaiju as I can manage. From what I can tell I just made at least one thousand at once. That's by far the best I've ever managed. The fall down to the land beyond the city, instantly colliding with the opposing horde. Their only order is to protect everyone in the city, especially Satoshi and Misty. I can't spend any more time here though. With that i have Saphire fly us across the city. I send down Kaiju towards any I see, but that creates a feeling in my stomach that I'm going to take as a warning. So pretty soon I have to compromise and send a single Kaiju to handle groups. For what it's worth I have my new super S class destroy as many as she can. And she is really good at it. The roads are flooded with red and purple blood, though the purple obviously outweighs the red. A few miles away the ranger force base sits perfectly clean, untouched by the violence I thought they were supposed to deal with. Although it's not like they've been shining bastions of heroism lately. To be fair though if I had a choice I wouldn't want to fight this either. But I have to, I think this might be my fault. But the biggest thing on my mind is the beach. There's no end to the destruction, could a kaiju have made it all the way across so quickly? I just need to see if everyone there is ok. Every second I feel more Kaiju return to the wand. Even some of my best like Norbert and Pup are back. I can't worry about that now though. I'm finally close enough to see zone W on the horizon. Waves the size of skyscrapers threaten the now glass beach. Theres not any smoke or fire yet but I can see a lot of Kaiju souls. Oh, didn't know I had that on, would explain the pain in my eyes. And I guess I'm calling them souls for now. When we get there I see what they are. Man sized purple frogs. When they get close to a fleeing or resisting human they explode, spreading deadly poison everywhere. The only other is a black armour plated behemoth. It's quadrupedal stance showed of its three barbels tails in its back. It's three flashlight like eyes rotated behind a thick glass like substance. Mini tornados blow away a lot of the kaiju I sent to help with the frogs. Some of them are carried further back though by a beautiful yellow dust. I immediately realise what that must mean. I spot Lilith flying around the black Kaiju, blood dripping from her forehead. The most startling thing though is that she's human sized. Not just human sized though, at least a foot taller than me. Because today couldn't get any worse.
"I'll kick your ass ya spineless tadpole!" Mr Ryuji is hard to miss, even from up here. I hold back a chuckle when I see him charge a frog with a broom. But that'll get him killed so I should send Raven to save him. Only problem is that Raven is already out. A black gloved hand smashes though his protective wing to grip my face. I'm instantly taken off my feet as I fly out of Saphires hand. The sudden rush of wind makes it hard to see so I just launch a dozen Thundercats at my attacker. But some small purple thing shoots through each of them before a single lightning bolt can be fired. When I realise we're falling to the beach I send a gummy bear to break our fall. It splats to pieces but at least we aren't dead. The gloved hand still has an iron grip on me, but now I can see who it is.
"Hold still, if you have to live you might as well see." Morrigan looks down at me with what I can only call quiet resentment. I don't have time to dwell on that so a sworn of bomber beetles are my only response. This finally gets her to let go of me and move back. The gem on her chest shines brilliantly next to all the fire and devastation. Around her thin limes of water seem to appear out of nowhere and intersect, leading them to becoming chain shaped. I get up as soon as I can, I think Lilith said something in the distance but I can't hear it over the black Kaiju.
"Your the witch from my dream." I'm not sure if that means anything to her but if it does she doesn't show it. The gen seems to melt into a black mist that spreads around her. As it condenses into something she launches her floating chains at me. Even with Raven blocking it feels like we're being crushed!
"I just want you to know that you look ridiculous." She calmly says. With a slow twist of her wrist the chains bend. Thanks to the momentum they wrap around Raven tightly. I'm able to duck just before being crushed. My feet start to slip on the ground, my only warning before the light blue wave crashes into me. Naga emerges to coral me to the side before I'm washed away to the psychotic ocean. I send Saphire to punch at Morrigan but she's stopped by a black slimy hand. The smoke has transformed into a demon with bat wings on its back. On its head are tentacles mimicking hair that cover a single large eye. The tentacle demon punches Saphire into the air, the shockwave alone shattering the cliff. The two engage in a high speed battle in the sky, Saphire unable to hit her opponent with a supernova without being hit with some wobbly stuff. I don't have time to understand that though. Naga fires a stream of poison that is instantly blocked by a water wall that emerges from the ground. By drawing energy from the planet I summon my biggest phoenix yet. Naga slithers in to hit her with a tail attack. She moves faster than I can see to the left to avoid it. I don't know if she needed to but she did. And with that I release the flaming bird with no reason to worry. It turns the ocean to steam as it travels. The body of water moves to form a wall in front of the witch. But that's fine. Because that's not the only place I put the planets energy. The powered up bomber beetles fall towards Morrigan.
"Eat this!" I yell as they are about to hit her. But then she exhales slightly and the air around her turns blue. Or maybe that's just my imagination because all my beetles freeze and shatter in less than a second.
"Your so close. Just a few more pushes." I somehow hear her regal voice from so far away. From there she just appears next to me, the kicked up sand the only indication that she moved. A dozen kaiju are summoned at once and promptly ensnared in chains. Tigers and bears and wolves and gorillas and dinosaurs all get dragged and kept to the ground, despite any snarling. I try to back away from her but end up tripping on nothing. I look up at her cold gaze. Behind her our kaiju are still battling, much closer in strength than we are. Closer to us is Lilith clashing humongous wing like blades with tornadoes and columns of lightning surrounding her opponent. She also uses her dust to seemingly melt the frogs that attack her. And in the sky I can see the silhouette of something huge. I can't tell what it is but I think it's watching me. Anther step from Morrigan leads me to raise the wand. But a snap of her fingers has me on my back screaming in pain. There was a pink wisp near her hand for a second but I can't really focus on that. Everything hurts. It feels like my veins are burning. My hearts going to burst! Why won't this throbbing in my head go away?!
"Stop!!!" I scream. I'd like to think I would have come up with something more dignified if today went better.
"Maybe. I'm surprised you didn't dodge that. But you'd probably just not ready. If you ask me it's cruel to keep pushing you in such a short time frame. Then again who am I to talk about cruelty? I just altered your body to make your blood poisonous." Wait what?! How the hell am I supposed to fight something like that?! "Although I can't really blame my sister for this either. She just wants to finish this. No more mental health breaks. Sucks for you." Her voice is a strange mix of sympathetic and mocking. All of it is drenched in that distant regality of hers. It's nothing like Louhis inviting nature. She looks into the sky while I curl up and take deep breaths. Each one only leads me closer to a blackout. "This brings back memories. You couldn't know this but that fills me with a wrath I haven't felt in twenty years. That's unfortunate for you." Chains wrap around my body, but before I can even acknowledge it they break. As if they were tied together, the pain evaporates as well. Gold dust settles on me, but seems to struggle to touch Morrigan, a light shimmer of water covering her body.
"Do that again and I make you forget how to eat." Lilith threatens in front of me. Up close it really is insane how identical she is to her smaller size. I know that makes sense but still. Behind Morrigan the black Kaiju lumbers over, thunder crackling with each step. The screams and roars only grow strong and stronger. In the sky a silver line of light appears for a moment, flying from east to west. A few seconds later an absolutely humongous line of blue light flies from west to east. I don't know if I should notice anything else but my senses are screw up beyend belied right now. I think Lilith said something but like before I can't hear it. She places a finger on my temple and I'm out like a light. That's happened way too much today. You know what? Even if someone tries to wake me up, I've earned a lay in. Just this once.
