"So you must be my teammates?" Akiko asked as he looked at a man and a woman who looked like they were in their late twenties.
They were the two teammates that Santa introduced to Akiko since the Chunin exam was a team event.
"Hello. I am Komugi and this is Inaho." The man introduced himself and his friend to Akiko.
"I am Akiko." Akiko introduced himself.
"We both don't have specialised fields but we are really good at hand-to-hand combat," Inaho said.
"I am a sensor ninja," Akiko replied.
He didn't reveal his other abilities outside of sensor skills since he just met those two people and he doesn't think he can trust them just yet.
"You two seemed to have taken the Chunin exams before so tell me about your experiences," Akiko asked.
After that, the two older teammates started to tell Akiko about the quizzes and tests that they had done before.
However, they weren't able to tell anything outside of that since they had never reached past the first part.
"I see. So most of the questions and quizzes that you have to face in the first part usually revolved around teamwork." Akiko said.
I have the mind-body transmission jutsu so being able to be in sync with these two might not be difficult.
So what I mainly need to worry about is the part after that. Akiko thought about his mind.
*****
The next day.
"This should be the place," Akiko said as he arrived at a building with his team.
"There should not be any mistake. After all, there is already a line here." Komugi said.
The three also decided to line up.
The line slowly moved until their turn arrived.
Two shinobi were waiting for them while sitting with a box in front of them.
"Your chunin exam vouchers." one of the men said.
All three of them handed the voucher that is needed to take the chunin exam to the man.
"Then you need to draw the lots." the man said as he pointed towards the box that was in front of him.
"I am One," Akiko said as he pulled a lot that had the number one written on it.
"Then you have to go to the classroom in front. Two and three are upstairs." The man said.
"Then I am off," Akiko said as he went towards the classroom where he was assigned.
It was a lively room where many powerful Shinobi were present.
The most eye-catching among them were two shinobi who had white eyes without any iris.
After that, a man followed him before the room closed.
The man who last entered the room tried to open the door but it was futile.
Then suddenly a screen lit up, revealing a man who looked like he would rather be anywhere but the place he was in.
"My name is Shikamaru Nara and I am the examiner responsible for the first part of the exam." He introduced himself.
"Participants take one sheet from the paper stack and take any seat they like." He said.
Everyone followed his instructions.
"Is everyone seated?" He asked.
"Since this is a drag, I will get straight to the point." He continued.
"What do you mean this is a drag. It's serious for us." One of the participants complained.
"You guys are lucky. Since I am the examiner this year." He said.
"He is right. Since he is the examiner he might not do anything unreasonable." One of the other participants who seemed to know the examiner supported his claims.
"This is a written test. Read the questions carefully. There are three questions. 30 points, 40 points and 50 points from top to bottom. You will need to answer one question each and the total score of you and your teammates will determine the result of the exam. If all of your combined scores exceed 100 you will fail."
After he said those words, the room started to complain.
"Then from the passing teams, we will look at the average and anyone who scores less than the average will be disqualified. Exams start now," he said as the screen which was displaying his face changed into a timer that had thirty minutes on it.
These are not hard. But how do I make my team rank above the average? As Akiko was thinking of a solution he saw the white-eyed man start to stand up from his seat.
He then walked towards the windows.
"Double-panned windows. They seem to really want us to be unable to communicate with our teammates." He said.
"It reminds me that we were told a few rules but there isn't a supervisor." He continued.
"I see. That means they didn't care if we cheated or not." The other man said as he started to walk around the classroom.
"Now I remember. The previous test was all about cheating, wasn't it?" The white-eyed girl said.
Everyone looked around to see if there was any kind of clue or things that could be exploited.
"If one team member scores zero points we will definitely get 100." One person said.
"But there is no guarantee who will be the one to answer the question and who will leave it blank."
At that time while some classmates were communicating with each other Akiko had already finished.
"This should work." He said as he smiled after looking at the paper.
Since only teams that were below average will be disqualified, Akiko thought that being exactly at 100 would remove the chance of getting eliminated.
If they eliminated everyone who is above or below average he might have to think but since the exam only eliminates the ones below average getting the highest possible score that is needed without going over the 100 point limit becomes a risk-free option.
He communicated his thoughts to his two teammates.
After a while, most people from all three classes started to shout after they found out the room was not fully soundproof.
Then bit by bit other shinobi started to make plans again, and two people almost fought because of disagreements.
Akiko who has already finshed his test couldn't care less and watched all the chaos unfold.
