Rias took a sip from the warm tea, the fragrant aroma lingering in her mouth as she took a glance at the old clock on the wall, before sinking deeper on the luxurious sofa.
It shouldn't take much longer for her cute servants to wrap up their contracts for the day. Perhaps she could introduce Issei to the less pleasant of the Devil duties tonight.
He'd finally awakened the power that dwelled inside him, and what power it was.
Her mouth twitched with a smile at the reminder, stomach fluttering in excitement. It might be a bit too early to jump to conclusions, but the clues were all there to piece together.
Eight pawns for a mere Twice Critical? That would be impossible. It had to be the Boosted Gear, though perhaps not fully manifested just yet? He did lack the power to trigger a simple magic circle activation after all.
Rias took another sip from the delicious tea, kicking her feet in excitement.
To think she'd stumble upon a Longinus like this…
If only she had more luck in finding clues about those two…
Her smile dimmed, a sigh escaping her.
Maybe she could talk to Sona about it? That should get her interested, too, and if they all sent their familiars to keep an eye out—
A buzzing noise suddenly cut through her thoughts, eyes going to her vibrating phone atop the table.
A call?
She grabbed her phone, mouth tightening as she read the name on the screen.
Issei?
Did something happen?
She quickly answered, bringing the phone to her ear. "Everything alright, Issei?"
"Yeah, umm, hey, president." Issei's voice sounded uncertainly over the line. "There's this weird Baldy who wants to meet you."
Rias blinked, shoulders sagging in relief while her brows furrowed ever so slightly.
Baldy? What baldy?
"I also met this cute, foreign girl," he said again, enthusiasm entering his tone, "who's a nun and has a really awesome power."
He met a what?
Eyes wide, Rias sat straighter in her seat, demonic power churning under her skin.
"Issei, are you in danger right now?"
"Uhh, no. I'm okay, president."
She breathed out a relieved sigh, her power settling down as her shoulders sagged. "I see. Please explain from the beginning."
"Well, I uhh," Issei paused, trying to find his words, and she took another quick sip of her tea, the warm liquid soothing her nerves even further. "I was coming back from that contract, when this Baldy and two blonde, foreign beauties asked me for directions."
A bald guy and a blonde, foreign girl?
A sudden thought lanced through her mind, eyes going wide. Could it be…
"Does the guy have a large bag or a chair with him?"
The line went quiet, Issei's voice returning after a short while, all confused. "A chair? Why would he have a chair?"
Rias sat unmoving on the couch, a flash of embarrassment heating up her face.
Of course that guy wouldn't lug around a chair everywhere, why did she even ask that silly question…
"Does the other girl have red eyes?"
"Yeah, why?"
Rias blinked, mouth opening wordlessly, only to immediately close with a soft click of teeth as she stared ahead blankly. It was really them.
What were the odds…
"He's asking when they could meet with you."
Meet with her? Why would they want to meet with her—
Rias paused as another voice sounded in the background. Wait, he was right there?
"Issei, where are you right now?"
"At the mall, outside. They're about to leave, though."
She nearly jumped to her feet, her demonic power once again buzzing under her skin, ready to pour into a spell. She could just go over there and meet them right now, couldn't she?
There were plenty of spots to teleport around the mall, and she could get there within seconds, but…
Rias nibbled at her lip, reining in that urge. She'd look too desperate if she showed up like that. She couldn't just teleport there, no matter how tempting it was.
Ugh…
Brow furrowing, Rias drummed a finger on the couch.
But why was there a nun with them? It was supposed to be just a guy and a vampire… and why would a nun even hang around a vampire?
Unless…
Rias' eyes flew wide.
Was the guy related to the Church?
She quickly shook her head. No way.
Her gaze wandered to the ceiling as the thought kept bouncing inside her head. Still, that would make their love story even more romantic, wouldn't it—
"Uhm, president?" Issei's voice sounded uncertainly over the line, and she blinked.
"Yes, I'm still here, Issei. Did the nun say what she was doing here?"
"She said she was assigned to the old church."
Rias frowned, eyes narrowing. Could this somehow be related to those Fallen Angels skulking around her city?
Her mouth drew a thin line. She was missing something.
"He wishes to set up a meeting, right?"
"Yeah."
But she could figure it out later. Maybe those two knew something and might even be willing to share.
"I could meet them later, let's say around six in the evening." And then she could take her cute servants to hunt down that Stray.
Rias nodded to herself. Yes, that would be efficient.
There was another short pause before Issei spoke, "He says it's good."
A smile came to her lips. "Great. Tell them that we'll be meeting in the clubroom and come right back here."
She didn't want him accidentally stumbling across another Fallen angel…
"Got it, prez!" Issei said enthusiastically, the call ending a moment later.
Placing her phone back on the table, Rias picked up her cup, taking a quiet sip as she sank deeper into the luxurious couch.
Luck was really smiling upon her lately, wasn't it?
