Krillin collapsed onto the ground, letting out a long breath.
The overwhelming joy of surviving left his entire body limp.
"It's over… it's really over…"
Loren clapped his hands together and walked straight toward Android 18.
"Hey, Loren!" Son Goku called out. "Bulma's throwing a celebration party! Want to come with us?"
"No thanks."
Loren waved without even turning his head.
The others exchanged glances, then could only smile helplessly.
Android 18 looked at Loren's lazy back. A faint smile flickered in her eyes, and without saying a word, she followed him.
The two—one in front, one behind—slowly walked away from the noisy, cheering battlefield.
The setting sun stretched their shadows long across the ground.
"You…" Android 18 finally spoke, her voice cool.
"Just now… you were very cool."
Loren stopped and turned around, surprised.
"Huh? What did you say?"
Android 18's cheeks faintly flushed. She turned her head, looking at the sunset.
"Nothing."
Loren smiled but didn't press further.
"Then… does what we agreed on earlier still count?"
Android 18 paused for a moment, then remembered.
Before the battle, she had casually invited him out.
"It counts," she replied calmly.
"Good."
Loren grinned.
"Let's go. I'm hungry."
"There's a new barbecue place in West City. Supposedly good."
"…Mm."
There were no dramatic confessions.
No grand vows.
It was as if what had just ended wasn't a battle for the fate of Earth—but an ordinary day finally winding down.
They flew side by side through the evening sky.
Quiet. Comfortable.
At the same time, televisions across the world were endlessly replaying the same image.
A man with an afro, a championship belt, and boundless confidence—
Mr. Satan.
After crawling out of the human-shaped crater, he faced the cameras and began his legendary bragging.
"Did you see it?! Ladies and gentlemen!"
"That monster Cell was punched away by me, Mr. Satan!"
"Ultimate life form? Hah! Under my iron fists, he was nothing!"
The public—still shaken by fear and destruction—desperately needed a hero.
Mr. Satan filled that role perfectly.
Overnight, he became a godlike figure.
The savior of Earth.
West City — Barbecue Restaurant
The grill sizzled.
Meat crackled.
The TV continued broadcasting Mr. Satan's interview.
"So I am the strongest! Hahahahaha!"
Android 18 glanced at the screen.
"Idiot."
Loren casually placed a freshly grilled piece of beef tongue onto her plate.
"Isn't it good?"
"Someone else wants the spotlight."
"Saves us trouble."
"From now on, petty criminals are his problem."
Android 18 looked at the meat, said nothing, and started eating.
She realized something then.
Being with this man felt… easy.
She glanced at Loren across the table, who was fully absorbed in battling grilled meat.
The corner of her lips curved upward without her noticing.
After dinner, they walked along the streets of West City.
"What are your plans now?" Loren asked.
"I don't know," Android 18 replied honestly.
Loren suddenly spoke again.
"My place is quiet."
"It's big."
"Plenty of rooms."
"Just missing someone to clean."
Android 18 stopped and looked straight at him.
"Are you inviting me?"
"You could say that," Loren shrugged.
"If you don't want to, forget I said anything."
The night breeze brushed her golden hair.
After a moment of silence—
"Okay."
Loren froze.
"You… agreed?"
"Mm."
Android 18 looked at him, a hint of mischief in her eyes.
Seven Years Later
Seven years changed many things.
The ruined cities had long been rebuilt—more prosperous than ever.
Mr. Satan became a permanent legend.
And near Capsule Corporation in West City stood a quiet, detached villa.
This was Loren and Android 18's home.
Loren lay sprawled on the sofa, head resting on a soft pillow, game controller in hand.
On the screen, a muscular brawler was being beaten senseless by a petite magical girl.
Bang!
K.O.
"Boring."
Loren tossed the controller aside.
"You're just bad," a cool voice replied.
Android 18 walked out of the kitchen with two glasses of juice.
White T-shirt. Denim shorts. Ponytail.
No makeup.
Still stunning.
She placed one glass in front of Loren, sat down, and picked up the controller.
"I'll play."
Loren rolled onto his side, watching with interest.
Her fingers moved swiftly.
Dodging. Blocking. Combos.
Smooth. Precise.
Less than thirty seconds.
PERFECT K.O.
She set the controller down and took a sip of juice.
"See? Simple."
Loren laughed.
"Yeah, yeah. You're amazing."
He leaned over, wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Wife."
"What are we eating tonight?"
Android 18 stiffened for a moment, then relaxed, leaning back into him.
"I don't know."
"How about barbecue?"
"We had that yesterday."
"Seafood hotpot?"
"The day before."
"…Damn."
Loren sighed.
He could erase planets.
But he couldn't decide dinner.
Was this… the trouble of happiness?
