"Hannah...is tired..."
Hannah fell on her knees, catching her breath. Her cheeks were red from the heat and the fun. Sammy's backyard was so wide and flat that she could run around without worrying about anything. The grass cushioned her fall nicely, and she smelled her daddy's scent almost everywhere.
Unlike at the park, she didn't need to be careful about bumping into other people. She didn't need to be worried about smelling something awful. Talking about it, the house smelled almost like her and her daddy's house. It was something subtle like flowers and a nice meal, layered under a faint scent of neutralizer.
So, so, so nice.
"Phew...that was fun, wasn't it?" Samantha grinned beside her. The older girl was plopping down on the grass, crossing her legs to rest. "Once I get better at skating, I'll teach you too."
"Skating?" Hannah perked up.
