Chapter 83 - Chapter 82 Duke Kurt

Seeing the shocked crowd, Kote had anticipated this, but didn't expect it to be so severe. Now, the people's emotions for him were even more fervent.

"Kote!"

"Kote!"

After emerging from the Mandalore mines with the Mythosaur, sunlight streamed down. All the Mandalorian people cheered Kote's name, but others from outside worlds didn't understand what they were cheering for, or why their emotions became so intense after he appeared with a beast.

The Mandalorian people beside them introduced a part of Mandalore's history and mythology to the outsiders.

"So that's it. This represents all the characteristics of a Mandalorian ruler?" the person asked.

"Exactly. Governor Kote perfectly embodies all the characteristics of a Mandalorian ruler. He is the next Mandalore Emperor!" the fervent Mandalorian exclaimed.

"But isn't Duchess Satine the rightful ruler?" a passerby asked.

"The Duchess is good, but Kote is better! Long live the Vizsla Clan!" the zealot shouted, clearly his surname was vizsla or he belonged to a subordinate clan.

Meanwhile, Kote rode the Mythosaur to the next scene—Peace Plaza.

In Peace Plaza, the Mythosaur, over thirty meters tall, lay beside Kote. Under the gaze of the crowd, Duchess Satine bestowed an honor upon Kote.

With the last gift his father left him, the ducal seat was passed to Kote.

"Duke Kote!"

"Duke Kote!"

The crowd cheered Kote's coronation.

"Next, I have even more surprising news to announce!" Satine declared a segment that had not been discussed at all before, clearly a result of Satine's careful deliberation.

"No!" Kote tried to stop his Cousin from speaking from below, but Satine stopped Kote.

"From now on, Mandalore will be co-governed by Duke Kote and me! And when Duke Kote wishes to become the sole ruler, I will step back!" Satine announced the news that shocked everyone. Kote, however, didn't want this at all. He didn't intend to force his Cousin to step down; he only wanted to begin the first step of Mandalore's revival, letting the people feel it.

Kote walked onto the stage, "Thank you, my dear Cousin Duchess Satine, for everything you've said, even though others were unaware of this. However, I will shoulder my responsibilities and will not shirk any duties the people bestow upon me. Mandalore will be great again! Long live Mandalore!" Kote raised the dark saber and shouted loudly.

"Long live Mandalore!"

"Mandalore will be great again!"

"Long live Duchess Satine! Long live Duke Kote!"

The two smiled happily, listening to the cheers of the people.

"Next, we will increase trade cooperation with other planets in the Outer Rim, making the entire Outer Rim an integral part of the Republic. Long live the Republic! Long live the Outer Rim!" Kote remembered that the Republic might feel threatened by Mandalore, so he offered compliments to the Republic.

"Long live the Republic!"

"Long live the Outer Rim!"

The guests below had different thoughts upon hearing Kote's words, some even planning future dealings with Mandalore, ready to discuss them at the banquet.

As Kote elaborated on his future goals and plans, the main focus was on making the entire Outer Rim better and increasing cooperation with the Republic.

Soon after Kote finished his speech, everyone moved to the final location, Tare Vizsla's statue in the desert on Mandalore. Kote stood beneath the statue, and unlike the dark saber stuck into the ground behind him, Kote held the dark saber high, symbolizing his and the Mandalorian people's current focus on the future and moving towards the Galaxy. This was the original intention of the new Mandalorian Government: to bring peace to the Galaxy.

With the end of the celebration, people returned to the city, where a banquet was underway in the palace.

"Oh, Chewbacca, long time no see," Kote said, embracing Chewbacca and discussing Alaris's recent situation.

Then Palpatine also took time to congratulate Kote, as he was too busy. There were many people here he needed to befriend, which would help him gain more votes in future Speaker elections.

After a busy night, Kote, as the protagonist of the day, was extremely exhausted. Even his The Force training on the planet hadn't been this tiring. He was simply not suited for politics. The next day, people gradually began to leave Mandalore, returning to their own planets or to Coruscant.

Kote now had multiple responsibilities, so he handed over his chief of police position. Although he hadn't managed the police force much, it was better to find a more responsible person.

Although Mandalore was now jointly governed by Kote and Satine as supreme rulers, the Prime Minister's responsibilities were further divided. It was now more like a grand steward who handled all unimportant matters, while important matters were managed by Satine and Kote.

However, Kote was not as good as Satine at managing civilian affairs, so he only handled military matters, working in Vadir instead of personally coming to Mandalore. In short, his title increased, but Satine still handled the practical work.

Kote spent half a year in Vadir, during which many events occurred in the Galaxy that would affect later affairs. Most of these were Palpatine's conspiracies, such as the Eriadu Summit, which was a blatant conspiracy. The Nebula Front organization, resurrected from the dead, attacked the summit, further contributing to many subsequent events, such as the Naboo Crisis caused by the Council's attempt to unilaterally pass the BR-0371 bill.

"Damn it, you can't do this!" Governor Gunray angrily slammed his desk, while Dourde beside him advised Gunray not to get angry. Yes, Dourde had been reinstated once again. Although Dourde always suffered setbacks with Kote, he was still quite capable.

"Governor, we need more votes to get people to support us, otherwise these corporations will eventually end up like us," Dourde offered his idea.

"It's not enough at all. Everyone wants to sanction us to fill the Republic's huge financial deficit!" Gunray was at a loss.

"Contact the current Senator Lott Dodd. The Republic must be stopped from doing this!" After all, this would deal a significant blow to the Trade Federation.

"Yes!" Dourde quickly went to contact Lott Dodd upon receiving the order.

Meanwhile, Nute Gunray's mind was rapidly working, trying to think of who else could help him. Suddenly, he remembered the senators who attended the Mandalore celebration two days ago, and the protagonist of the celebration, Kote Vizsla.

"Right, Kote's reputation in the Outer Rim is much better than mine. I'll just ask him for help," Gunray quickly contacted Kote personally.

Kote, in Vadir, suddenly received a communication from Gunray. He knew Gunray well; he guessed it was about the tax. He had been waiting for his message, after all, Gunray was asking him for help, and this tax wouldn't significantly affect his various companies.

"Governor Kote, are you short on money recently?" Gunray asked Kote in a humble tone.

"Oh, if you put it that way, I was originally going to play hard to get, but since you said that, fine. I'll go to Coruscant tomorrow to see if I can mediate this matter." Kote was surprised by Gunray's straightforwardness, not expecting him to even bother with pretense.

But after Gunray and Kote ended their communication, Sidious also contacted Gunray.
