As the sun set in the city of Dallas, the skyline transformed into a breathtaking canvas of oranges, pinks, and purples. The towering skyscrapers stood like sentinels, their glass façades reflecting the fading light. The streets pulsed with life, as if the city's rhythm was slowing down to savor the beauty of the moment. In a small café on Main Street, a lone musician played a melancholy tune on his saxophone, the notes drifting like whispers on the evening breeze. The scent of sizzling fajitas wafted from a nearby restaurant, enticing passersby to linger and indulge. As the stars began to twinkle like diamonds in the night sky, the city took on a magical quality.
we finally got back home late at night,the summer vacation was over,it was a long and stressful journey.
I went to bed early 'it was past nine' I left my parent in the sitting room I don't know what they were talking about though but it was none of my business. Suddenly my phone beeped ,it was a mail and it has been sent since morning but was delayed due to the unstable network,I checked it and it turned out to be my admission letter into Baylor university "a Baptist university OMG"!
I got confused cause i didn't apply for it I didn't do anything so how come I got admitted,these thoughts kept playing in my head so I finally decided to tell my parents,I went down to the sitting room they were not there,to the kitchen,to the garage, they weren't there either. where could they had gone .
I finally went up to their room I barged in like I didn't got to know how to knock,the position they were was something else "oh my goodness I am sorry,I am sorry" I ran out and went to my room.
Not like they were doing something bad ,they were just kissing! 'Ewww disgusting aren't they old enough,do they still do this things'.
After 30 minutes I heard a knock on my door I didn't answer at first,them the knock became louder, who is at the door! I shouted. open this door before the count of three unless you want to become doorless,it was my mum's voice.
Sorry! "I said", give me few minutes I am taking my bath. I rushed out of the bathroom put on my singlet and boxers my thing was dancing at the same time.
My mum finally entered,why were u in my room the other time 'she said ' and didn't I teach you how to knock? as if you ever did that I said to myself,she didn't hear me of course.
I told her I saw something on my phone which I didn't understand,or maybe they did mistake and sent it to the wrong Email address.
Stop beating around the bush and go straight to the point! she yelled, the thing is mum I got admitted into Baylor university and I couldn't remember when I applied or did anything,my mum went silent for a while she didn't say anything mum! mum! mum! oh sorry I got carried away by something, mum you didn't say anything to what I just said,oh sorry I forgot to tell you your dad did it on your behalf,he has some friends there so it was easy for him to get through and don't forget that we have the copy of all your credentials, oh mum why? I don't think I am ready for that right now I still want to stay at home at least for another year and figure something out.
Shut up boy what do you know ,do you think you are old enough to decide for yourself,do you think because we let you be sometimes you can have absolute control over your life"hell no" we are your parents and we know what is best for you.
Okay mum I've heard you i am sorry for that I wasn't thinking straight.she stood up and went to meet her husband in her room.
I was alone in my room different thought started flowing through my mind,am I up for this,can I do it alone,can I cope,can I adjust well to the knew environment blah blah blah...
Suddenly,a moment flashed through my head the picture was vivid,the moment was clear,it was once time I was in the room with my dad he just wanted to talk to me about something I can't really remember what the matter was but I remember a lines that he said "do not think so little of yourself,you can do whatever you set your mind on" the word settled in my brain.
I am ready for this ,it isn't over until it is over. It is late at night already let me sleep.
