"7 o'clock. Just before dinner time." Goten said as he arrived back at his house's doorstep.
"Thanks for giving me a ride back home," Goten said as he waved goodbye to the flying nimbus that sent him back home.
Goten opened the door and heard noises coming from the kitchen.
"Mom. I am back." Goten said as he went towards the bathroom to wash himself up.
"Oh. Goten. You are back. Then go and wash yourself first. Then call your brother. Dinner is almost finished." Chichi said to Goten.
In the bathroom, Goten looked at himself in the mirror.
"Hmm. Did I get a bit taller?" He asked himself.
He wasn't entirely sure, but he felt he was a few inches taller than before.
He wonders whether he was imagining it or whether the divine water has some effect on his body.
But he hoped that he was right about him being a bit taller.
Otherwise, he might have to use the dragon balls or find some magic to accelerate his growth.
After taking a bath, he called out to Gohan, who was still in his room, to come to dinner.
"Gohan. Dinner is ready." Goten called out.
"Just a minute. Tell Mom I am coming." Gohan replied.
Goten went towards the dinner table.
"So what did you and Trunks do all day?" Chichi asked as she put some food on Goten's plate.
"Well, we played at his house. Trunks showed me his new game that he just bought." Goten lied because he knew that his mom would freak out if she found out that he had gone around the kami's lookout, drinking water that could have killed him.
"I am here, what are you guys talking about?" Gohan joined the dinner table.
The three people started to eat without saying much because talking while you have food in your mouth is considered rude.
"Mom. I have something to tell you." Gohan said in a low voice.
"Dad said that he is coming back for the budokai," Gohan muttered.
"What? Goku is coming back." Chichi yelled out.
Although she yelled out very loudly both Goten and Gohan could tell that she was happy when she said those words.
"That's great. Goten you will be meeting your dad very soon." She said as she patted Goten's back.
"Although I may be getting old he is still going to look the same, people don't age in the afterlife. How long has it been, 7 years?" Chichi said as she started to imagine the life that she is going to have with her beloved husband and her two sons.
"Mom. Can I enter the Tenkaichi Budokai too? The winner will get 10 million zeni and the second place will get 5 million." Gohan said as he carefully examined Chichi's reaction.
"10 million zeni?" Chichi was in shock.
"Go for it. Between you and your dad, we will win 15 million." Chichi encouraged Gohan.
"Well, we haven't won yet," Gohan replied.
"Oh you two will win for sure," Chichu replied.
"But I have to skip school for a while and train just to be sure," Gohan said as he tested his mother's temper.
"Well you can go to school later," Chichi replied.
Her greed and the family's need for the prize money outweighed Gohan's studies when she heard how much money could be won from the tournament.
"Phew." Gohan sighed in relief.
Goten who already knows how things are going to be played out just looked at Gohan as he continued to eat his meals.
"Goten. Tomorrow I will be taking a leave from school and train for the tournmnet do you want to join me?" Gohan asked Goten.
"Sure. I wanted to see how strong you really are Gohan." Goten replied.
Although he can sense how much ki Gohan currently has, he still wasn't sure how much Gohan is holding back.

The next day.
In a forest near Goten and Gohan's house.
"First let's start with Super Saiyan," Gohan said as he transformed into Super Saiyan form.
Gohan was wearing a purple gi similar to the one that Piccolo usually wore.
While Goten was wearing the orange gi similar to the one that Goku wore with the only difference being the black undershirt with long sleeves.
Gohan quickly picked up a boulder which is bigger than Goten and smashed it into pieces with one punch.
"Goten. Stand there and throw those rocks at me." Gohan asked Goten.
"Do you really want me to? I don't think that you might be able to dodge it from this distance." Goten asked.
"Sure. You don't need to worry much. Believe it or not, your brother was once the strongest in the world." Gohan said.
"Ha." Goten smiled while looking like he didn't believe Gohan.
"Then here I go," Goten said as he threw a small rock at Gohan.
I held back a lot so he should be able to dodge it. Goten thought in his mind.
However, he realised that the rock hit Gohan in the stomach and caused him to fall to his knees.
"Wait. Gohan. Are you okay?" Goten asked in worry.
Of course, Gohan should have been able to dodge the rock that Goten throws easily if he were locked in especially since Goten was holding back a lot and Gohan was using his Super Saiyan form.
But he was too careless and was too overconfident in his ability which caused such an accident to happen.
"Sorry about that. I was not expecting you to be that strong." Gohan said as he got up.
"It looked like I had to get serious too," Gohan said.
"Goten. Do it again. Don't hold back. And throw the rock at me with everything you got." Gohan said to Goten.
"Are you sure? I was holding back the last time." Goten reminded Gohan.
"You are holding back?" Gohan questioned.
Still, even if he was holding back, I should be able to dodge the rocks that he threw at me easily. Gohan thought in his mind.
"Yeah. No holding back." Gohan repeated.
