Chapter 4 - System Hibernate

LAW

THE SYSTEM

The system is an interface formed by an ancient artifact — me — along with your

own power. It allows you to level up. There are many people in the world with

systems, and simply having one doesn't mean you are, or ever will be, the

strongest being. There are people who are strong without it. But yours is no

ordinary system. It gives you rewards depending on your actions, and it grants

you gold, allowing you to buy skills and do more. Moreover, it monitors

everything you learn and gain during training or battles, and adds it to your

repertoire.

For example, take the fire skill you bought. With it, you've gained the fire

element, and your Ekrin has risen. Skills related to aura raise your Aura Plane

as well. Also, the state you were in during your fight is now added to your

forms in the system.

There are also skills and Authorities, like the Art's Work Authority. It allows

you to scan the battlefield even in the heat of battle, helps you level up

faster, and allows you to gain the skills and authorities of the monsters or

people you defeat. It also raises your experience, creating a perfect artwork

of the battlefield. However, the amount and quality at which it can function

varies depending on your level.

THE WORLD

Powers and Abilities

This world is full of many dangers. To be safe, you need information, so I'm

going to explain everything I know about this world to you.

First of all: Aura. A power mostly used by swordsmen, it consists of Eight

Plane Mastery, composed of multiple layers, each corresponding to specific

aspects of life and connected to the eight main planes.

* Physical Plane: Representing physical health, it connects to the root plane

and is closest to the body, enhancing strength, speed, and agility.

* Etheric Plane: Home of psychic abilities, it connects to the throat plane and

is the seat of pure potentiality, granting mental fortitude, deeper

understanding, and knowledge, along with the abilities of the Physical

Plane.

* Emotional Plane: Linked to feelings, it connects to the sacral plane and

changes the color of one's aura depending on their soul and emotion — the mood

they are always feeling. This is where the color and resonance of aura comes

in.

Aura Resonance

Aura resonance refers to the vibration frequency, or "vibe," of an

individual's aura. It can be influenced by emotions, thoughts, and environment.

A strong and healthy aura resonates at a higher frequency, while a weak or

imbalanced aura resonates at a lower frequency.

Color Types:

* Red: Vitality, passion, grounding

* Orange: Creativity, joy, emotional connection

* Yellow: Optimism, intellect, clarity

* Green: Healing, love, compassion, growth

* Blue: Calmness, communication, trust

* Violet/Indigo: Intuition, spirituality, wisdom

* Pink: Love, empathy, compassion

* White: Purity, clarity, vibrancy, spiritual awakening

* Black: Dark thoughts, revenge, vibrancy, spiritual awakening

Grants the ability to augment aura into any weapon.

* Mental Plane: Represents state of mind and ego. It grants mental focus,

connects to the solar plexus plane, and produces colored sparks mentally. It

grants the ability to shape, bend, and move aura into any shape or

construct.

* Astral Plane: Represents spiritual health, the ability to give and receive

aura, and it links to the heart plane. It grants the ability to increase the

amount of aura on a user's body, allowing them to move through the air, gain

solid body protection, send out aura in the form of blasts or any attacks, and

absorb attacks of aura.

* Celestial Plane: Related to intuition and dreams, it connects to the third

eye plane and is the home of unconditional aura control and widely heightened

senses. It grants the ability to merge all the colors of aura one possesses,

gives the user something of a third eye or a third-man point of view, and

provides much stronger control of the previous planes. It is the level of sword

masters.

* Causal Plane: Stores information about soul purpose, connects to the crown

plane, and grants a beautiful golden glow. It gives the user the ability to see

beyond the natural, allowing them to see and predict attacks. It brings

calmness, balance, and is the next level of sword master — a true sword

master.

Spiritual Layers:

* Etheric Template: Represents divine will.

* Celestial Body: Represents higher states of consciousness.

* Kinetic Layer: Represents divine guidance.

The Aura Layer grants the user the use of the Etheric Plane state — a majestic

form reserved only for those who've reached the peak of Aura Plane sword

mastery. This is the highest level of a sword master: Sword Monarch, a Sword Legend.

They are rarely seen; only a handful of them are said to exist.

Now, Ekrin.

* First Core: Allows the user to use Ekrin; grants spell casting and

creativity.

* Second Core: A more increased Ekrin than the above; grants spell casting at a

more resourceful level.

* Third Core: Represents a larger pore; allows the user to use Ekrin to augment

their body while they fight.

* Fourth Core: Represents the color of someone's Ekrin core, which gives them

the ability to use more than one element and its attributes if needed. It

grants vast knowledge of the Ekrin realm, allowing them to sense and detect

someone's attack when it's coming and from where.

* Fifth Core: Gives the ability to regulate, nullify, and absorb other people's

magic or Ekrin attacks, and grants the ability for one to shape or reform their

Ekrin. A Fifth Core Ekrin user can cause a lower-level Ekrin user to be

affected by Ekrin overflow.

* Sixth Core: Represents Ekrin resonance; grants the user the ability to summon

their magic from any direction, which is known as Ekrin Space, and to merge

different elements, allowing them to create new magic. Hence, it is the level

of Sorcerers.

* Seventh Core: A Seventh Core sorcerer can utilize Ekrin Domain and Ekrin

Skin. That's the next level of Sorcerer — a true Sorcerer.

* Eighth Core: This is the highest level of Ekrin and the true power of a

well-advanced mage — an Arc Sorcerer. They can cast divine and ruin magic.

The types of elements that exist and their attributes:

* Fire: Sparks, smoke, lightning, heat.

* Wind: Atmosphere.

* Water: Ice.

* Earth: Iron, nature, gravity, magma.

* Space: Shadow, light, portal, healing.

The Three Controls and Their Metos

Force Control: This is a power that depends on the user's willpower and

stubbornness. It grants the user the power to wrap their body and the rest of

their power in Force Control. It gives them the ability to control the force

around them, also allowing them to use Force Sight. It allows the user to

destroy things they haven't touched and from afar — Force Death and Forceful

Wishing. Force Control is very versatile and important, but most people think

it's weaker than the other two controls. It's actually on the same power scale

as the other two, if used properly.

Metos: Force Death, Wishing, A Willpower — that grants the user mental

fortitude against any illusion, mirage, and mind control.

Void Control: This refers to the power that allows the user to manipulate the

void. It grants infinite teleportation to anywhere, grants void attacks that

can close and open any rift, distort, create injuries on opponents through

teleportation, and vanish attacks. It allows the user to see and hear things

from anywhere they want. The most important part is that it fuses the user to

their void weapon — their soul weapon — which can evolve depending on the

user's emotions and their path in life. The void weapons can transform and

allow the user to use Aethon, which transforms them. The void weapon has an

energy of the void that can kill anything.

Metos: Void Weapon, Void Domain — that allows the user to manipulate it to

create anything in it and bring them out, Void Mystery.

Arc Control: This power grants the user Arc Energy, a very vital power to

possess. It grants the user godlike powers like manipulating fate, death, and

life. An Arc user can delete their death concept, manipulate life and fate, use

different elements and elements not of this world, and can know the thoughts of

people who don't have any mental fortitude. It grants the user the ability to

enter a godlike Arc State.

Metos: Destruction, Creation, Life, Death, Fate.

Well, not everybody can use all the metos of all these controls, and when a

person is able to use all three controls, they can then reach true godhood.

Other Races

* Elves: They can control nature; the nobles can bring out wings from their

backs and fly.

* Dwarves: They are well known for their craftsmanship and sword arts; they are

good with earth magic.

* Giants: They are strong and capable warriors who take pride in their martial

arts.

* Beast Folks: In case you haven't seen one, most of their bodies are like

beasts — for example, their ears, fingers, and some even have tails. They can

transform into their mystical state because they are descendants of the

Mystical Gods.

* Humans: Well, you know — we have our swordsmanship, sorcery, and martial

arts.

Realms

There are multiple realms in this world. Don't worry, you'll learn more about

them at the academy. The ones you need to know about are:

* The Room Realm: Mercenaries, hunters, villains, and even the gods do battle

there. It's a messy place.

* Places where the gods live: Primal Realm, Forsaken Realm, No Realm, Ruin

Sanctuary, Haven, and lots more. Those are dangerous places.

As for the Labrets you are going to clear — there are five of them, each with

two waves and two stages. First, the Outside Wave, where monsters gather

outside the Labret. Second, the Inside Wave, where monsters gather inside the

Labret. Stage One, where you'll get to fight the first monster boss. Final Stage,

where you get to fight the final boss.

I'll be with you while you clear one of the Labrets, give you a training

regimen to follow, and then go into stasis — hibernation.

Now, for the final information I'll tell you about — all the gods I know of.

Gods

There are three main gods who follow the order of the God King: the Holy Gods,

Honor Gods, and Burst Gods. But there is a group of gods called the Unbound

Gods — gods who don't follow the God King. The God King created the Holy and

"So all of these are the things you need to know." I looked at Grey.

He seemed confused about what I had just said, and...

"How do you know all of this?" Grey asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You don't need to know about that. All you need is to focus on all these

things and get stronger."

They both deliberated on how to spend the eight hundred gold Grey had received.

Grey bought some more skills to help him clear the first Labret, which he had already

begun.

After adapting a little to his new skills, he headed straight to the Labret.

"Let's go," he confidently remarked, stepping through the void. He

appeared in another terrain. He looked around freely, relieved that there were

no surprise attacks.

GREY

Phew. There were no surprises this time.

I walked deeper, and in shock, I saw them — a horde of monsters waltzing about

in a cavern. I smirked.

"Looks like it's my turn."

I swooped in, my entire body covered in light as my speed heightened. I didn't

know how fast I was going, but what I did know was that I had reached where I

wanted to be in no time. Like... I disappeared. Swooping through — a gust of

wind came along. Limbs and torsos flew about in the area. I used my

authorities, *Art's Work* and *Ruler's Touch*. While Art's Work scanned and

regulated the battlefield as I fought, Ruler's Touch allowed me to control the

movements of my enemies. I gravitated my sword as I hacked through them like a

storm. The stronger monsters — looking scarier and more intelligent than the

others — tried a coordinated attack, gathering around me as they attacked

violently, rushing, swooping, switching positions in hopes of confusing me.

Utilizing my Sword Focus and my geographical sense, I located them. Infusing

different skills into the weapon I got from the goblin — magma, wind, solar

light, aura — a gust exploded from my body as everything came rushing in,

becoming heavy on the blade. My breath steamed in the process of focus; the

blade teased.

"Raaaah!" I yelled as I released a massive explosion, destroying

everything along with the monsters inside the cavern. The environment opened

up, and there was an explosion.

SYSTEM: You have leveled up! It said nineteen times.

I hope this skirmish didn't draw more attention to me.

Voom — a cold chill came down on me as I felt the presence of something

dangerous. I looked up into the sky and saw a strange figure, getting closer

and closer to me! Realizing what was going on, I tried to block without getting

hit, because it was already too late for me to dodge. Jumping back, I raised

what was left of the blade I had borrowed, and as soon as it came in contact

with the flying figure, it was destroyed.

Shock. Boom.

The terrain widened, and the debris cleared up. I looked up — a strange shadowy

figure stood in front of me. Then I saw it.

"Wait, isn't that a... hulk?"

It rushed at me. Our eyes met — with a crushing blow, he sent me flying into

the air.

"You've got to get a hold of yourself," Law said.

I stopped myself in mid-air using *Aerial Ace*.

"What was that?"

"That was a seventh-class monster. There are a total of ten monster

classes. The higher the number, the more power and intellect they

have."

So that's how monsters are. That means the one the entire party joined forces

to fight last time must have been fifth or sixth class! And it took the entire

party to bring it down, but... I reminisced. What chance do I stan— No. This is

a new me. I can do this.

I covered my entire body with Light Speed while using Aerial Ace. I kicked my

heel off the air using wind pressure.

Immediately, I met with the hulk. In a scary scenario, we exchanged blow for

blow. As we hit each other, the shock we created sent both of us flying

backwards, but I can't keep this up for much longer. The hulk immediately

sensed that I couldn't hold up against it. It used its sheer force to kick the

air and maneuvered up against me in the air. He was above me; our eyes met,

facing each other. He was upside down.

He landed a kick that knocked me off the air, sending me into the ground,

decimating the area. I tried to stand up, but he was about to land on me. I

retaliated, summoning Luminous Shield along with Ekrin Shield. He smashed and

smashed repeatedly. I teleported myself out of the way. My body glowed as I

rushed at him, kicking him with Light Speed and sending him flying. Both of us

blitzed through the battlefield, creating shockwaves.

I used fire, conjured ice, used wind. We were at a stalemate, but I was the one

mostly battered — looking all beat up and ragged. The monster, enraged, roared

at me furiously. The environment darkened; the air stiffened. His body turned

black; lightning clad his body. I couldn't move.

"What power do I have to match this?"

"Remember — think of the things you have in your arsenal," Law

remarked.

That's right! I calmed down. Not paying any attention to the creature charging

at me, my breath deepened; my eyelids glowed. The monster reached me. My eyes

snapped open, anew, glowing bright white, infused with white lightning. The

monster hit me. In surprise, he realized that his fist was stuck to an ice

statue.

While in the Zone, I used Dazzling Display and confused the monster. He raged

at me, who was standing next to him. The ice broke.

"Ki#@$%*&^%$@ll."

What's he trying to say? Does he mean "kill"? Well, this fight is

over either way.

"Law... I need a weapon."

Law activated the system and bought a weapon. The weapon materialized out of

thin air next to me. Whoa! What a majestic weapon — light reflecting off its blade,

the hilt well stabilized and balanced, emitting a mysterious energy. While I

was admiring the weapon, the monster tried to land a mighty blow on me. I

grabbed hold of it and blocked the monster's fist, slicing his hand clean off.

It tried to regenerate, but the sword dulled its regeneration time.

Law, realizing the kind of power Grey was using.

LAW

He is completely focused. He instantly reached the next level of focus in no

time. The kid's got the heart to win and a strong will to not give up.

"Hey, boy — try focusing that energy into your weapon."

Grey started to focus into his blade. The ground beneath him widened and

shattered. The weapon clad in lightning and white energy. Some sparks of

lightning sponged towards the monster, but he blocked them, his body injured.

He saw his blood. It sucked air like a vacuum and spat a great flame at Grey,

but Grey used Ekrin Shield to block it as he was sent flying into the air. The

monster quickly rushed at him, trying to hit him across the sky.

"Graaaaaaah!" the hulk yelled.

In shock, the hulk found out that he hit a mirage. Grey appeared right behind

the monster and then released all the stored-up energy straight at the monster.

A massive explosion raged, sending shockwaves through the entire battlefield.

It hit the ground and created a massive shockwave. The monster tried to get up,

but Grey landed on it and slaughtered it with barrages of furious sword swings.

The hulk tried to regenerate, but Grey severed its head.

SYSTEM: You have leveled up. It said six times.

Grey, with his eyes still glowing, bought some fresh clothes. He healed as he

clothed himself. Law, in surprise, wondered what was going on.

"I sense the presence of someone strong," Grey gritted.

He claimed all his stacked-up rewards from his system: Black Rage, Hell's

Flame, Spirit Dash, Unpredictability, Exploding Flames.

A strange gate appeared in front of him. He opened it and went in. Law

suggested,

"I think you should rest. The monster you are going to face next... is

going to... b-be!! Wait, oh no."

A strange monster was right in front of Grey. Law, who was about to warn Grey

of something important, got cut off by the restriction of the system. He had

been holding himself off from hibernating all this time. In an instant, he was

cut off.
