Chapter 229 - Book Two, Chapter 104: Back Home

Marcus looked at the results of all of the tests he had made Lacus do.

It was better than he had expected.

It would seem the hybrid creation has boosted some of the Innovator traits.

The girl inherited scientists' memories, but with her Accord and Innovator abilities, she swifly… adjusted those memories and improved on them, making them her own?

Like she found the faults in some of the scientists' methods and adjusted.

All of that happened in a matter of a few short days…

Apart from that…

Well…

The girl takes her 'job' very seriously. Marcus never truly defined what her job is. Wife, Assistant, Helper, Cook, Private Singer, basically all of them were true.

But even then, he expected a bit of 'distance', after all, there should be a bit of time when one should be adjusting, but not this particular pinkette.

After all of the tests, he expected her to be tired and go to one of the spare rooms Marcus had prepared in his hideout, but nope, she went right for his room.

"Lacus?"

"Yes?"

"Is there a particular reason why you are in my room?" Marcus, who was enjoying some snacks in his room before bedtime, asked the girl who strolled into his room.

"It should be obvious that I am here to do my duties." She said in a confident tone. Like, it should be obvious why she was here.

"How did you come to such a conclusion?" Instead of brushing her away or sending her back or any of the negative reactions one would do, especially the Japanese kind, where they blush and stutter when a girl begins to undress, the Emperor asked to disclose her train of thought.

"Well, for one, you create me with the sole purpose of entertaining you and serve with your whole being.

And since there is none of your wives here, those duties fall on my shoulders." The girl explained as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

Maybe it was normal for her, since those are his designs.

'Interesting, I do recall giving her 'common sense' but others can overwrite those.'

"Is that so? Well, in that case, why don't you come over here?" Marcus motioned towards his lap, and the pinkette walked over there without hesitation.

She ended up sitting on his lap, and he then motioned for her to feed him.

A small smile appeared on her lips as she began to do just that with giddiness.

The Emperor was a bit amused by how much she liked that.

The whole feeding session lasted for several minutes, but then it was time to sleep. So Marcus moved to the bed.

Now that's where things got a bit heated.

~~~
After obtaining his data and creating Lacus, Marcus had little else to do in this reality.
The sheer technological gap bored him in this place, so he returned to his world.
"Whoa…" The pinkette watched the portal power up as the trio crossed into A.S.P Headquarters.
Once there, he simply turned the portal off. He had a special remote created for the portal's use. The remote, powered by the Cosmic Tablet, sends a specific vibration to the limestone, triggering a reaction.
It had been nearly two decades since they had been studying the portal and precursor human technology. One could say that only now are they starting to understand how vibrations work and how to recreate these portal stones with their methods.
Now it will take time, maybe another decade or more, until they utilise something like portals from one planet to another, or from one sector to another.
They still have no idea whether these portals have any negative effects on the planet, since the main portal they utilise still uses magnetic fields to power itself.
It could be affecting the planetary rotation for all he knows.
So it needs to he studied further.
"So this is the Headquarters. We are inside a huge cavern." Lacus commented as she looked around.
"Indeed, the sun in this area can be brutal, so we went with a cavern system. There is direct access from the sea, so we get some cool wind.
"Now come with me. I want to show you Shamna, the head of the Geass Order."
"Of course. Please, show the way."
One would say that she should be nervous to meet one of the Empresses, at least that is what Jeanne thought, but Lacus was different.
"So that's what you created with all that data? You made… yourself a girl?" The blonde Empress was a bit surprised, but then it made sense.
What else could he possibly make? A guy? Not in a million years.
"Oh, please, what else could I make, besides, check the data of what she could do. A perfection if I do say so." Marcus looked at Lacus, who smiled at him.
"You can begin development of possible troops with this," he explained as he offered her a thumb drive.
"This is all of the data you need, and the results of my tests."
"I see… though you will need to explain to your other wives why you created yourself a girl." Shamna took the offered thumb drive.
"I don't need to do that. Lacus can cook. That's all the explanation I need to do." Marcus snorted after experiencing the heaven of a beautiful girl cooking for him… It's hard to come back from that!
"...Is that so?"
"Indeed, now let's go, ladies. I have other things to do."
The Emperor took one of the shuttles that took him to his Capital.
Lacus curiously looked at everything, as it was the first time she had seen the wider world.
So when he arrived at the Citadel, there was one of his wives waiting for him.
"..." When Leila saw Lacus, she narrowed her eyes. By this point, she is quite distrustful of pinkettes!
First Anna, who got knocked up before her, then it's Euphemia who jumped on her husband and now this…
"So…"
"This is Lacus Anaheim."
"...You gave her the dynasty name…" The blonde was speechless!
"Indeed, she will be my Assistant. I used data from that world, along with Veda's technology and my own. Think of it, three world technologies came together to produce her."
"..."
"The best part is she can cook."
"..." Leila stared at him for a bit.
"You do realise that any of us could have learned how to cook."
"Indeed, but I am close to 20 years since I got married to you girls, and still none of you can perform in the kitchen."
"...But…"
"Yeah, that won't work. I gave you all power to create retinues, followers, entire armies, so don't give the silly excuse that you are too busy." Marcus winked at Leila, making her deflate. He was right.
After ruling the Empire for years, they grew accustomed to it and began delegating tasks or automating processes with AI.
"...I never considered that you cared that much…"
"Is it? I thought you knew your husband well."
With that said, he walked towards his citadel. There are things to do.
The colony in Centauria has been up and running for a year.
The temperature and the gravity are quite similar to Earth's.
However, there is a lack of oxygen, and the atmosphere is mostly toxic to humans. But there are dome cities built in temperate zones.
The help of massive colony ships moved the first five million Innovators.
Well, calling them colony ships is a stretch, as they are simply big boxes with GN drives.
With the first cities up and running on Centauria, the colony needed a proper means of communication. For now, they use a crude method based on the Solar Cannon.
Basically, the gravity resonance would warp space, creating a tunnel through which the comms laser would fly into the Sol System.
That will do until the Sentry Array's first phase is complete.
And the construction of that is on its way. Extractor variants were already built and sent over to the magma worlds, where the extraction of minerals has begun.
One could say they are now an interstellar Empire, and humanity exists in two Solar Systems.
But it was not just that, Saturn's development is on its way as well.
Marcus classified Saturn as his Sol System's harbour. It's where the Empire will build warships and where the Imperial Logistics Department will sort resources from other solar systems out before being sent to Earth and the inner planets.
Speaking of Inner Planets, Venus was no longer a molten rock.
The Gravity Hammer had its first test run. Gravitational forces hammered into the world, slowly increasing the speed of rotation around its axis.
Bit by bit, over the years, the planet's day grew shorter and shorter. The hammering continued, and by the time Mars was green, Venus's day was just shy of thirty hours.
The only difference was that Venus rotates in the opposite direction… which means the sun rises in the west in that world.
'A true representation of why women are women.' Marcus sighed as he watched his wives meet and greet Lacus, who was super friendly and giddy to see them.
That friendliness is making them uncomfortable, which is amusing; his wives, from time to time, do have friction.
Especially now, when most of the kids are close to twenty years old.
'Time sure flies.'
As he thought about that, Anna stared at him.
His first Empress is itching for another child. She has been trying to get one for the past ten years, but Marcus is crafty when it comes to that.
He doesn't easily give what they want.
"Do catch up and learn about them, Lacus, while I have things to do." Marcus was about to leave, but some of his wives stopped him.
"Hold it, we need to talk!" Kallen commented as she looked at the pinkette he just brought! It would have been fine if he had just brought a girl, but he made her!
"Then talk."
"I want to know why you made a girl."
"I was created to breach three different realities and their technologies into one singular Imperial technology, which was a success.
Then another reason that I can cook. Which would seem to be a big thing for my Emperor."
The Empresses stared at him with raised eyebrows.
"Continue."
"And I am his Assistant, I am versatile in many fields of science, as well as dancing and singing." Lacus just commented from the top of her head.
'It sounds like he made a mistress for himself.'
Strangely enough, some of the girls began to wonder if history is repeating itself, Marcus could be following his father's steps, did he just make his 'favourite'?
"Wonderful, now is there something else you want to know?"
"...Will you be making more of them?" Anna asked, looking at the pinkette.
"I don't need to. Shamna has the data, I pioneered the technology, now it's up to her to make soldiers and scientists who could assist her in integrating more of Precurson human technologies into our Empire."
"I see. You do know that we won't accept it that easily." Anna crossed her arms as she looked at the latest addition to the Anaheim family.
"I would be dissapointed if you did. You can start with kitchen classes. Because I just found out that it's an amazing experience when a woman is cooking for me."
"Nearly half of our chefs are women." Leila rolled her eyes.
"Yes, and that's the thing, I don't see them do it." He shrugged before walking away, but this is where panic began to settle in as Lacus simply followed after him.
Marcus didn't need to say a thing as the pinkette simply followed after him.
"It would seem she is about to claim your spot as 1st Empress~" Kallen teased Anna a bit.
"Hmph, we will see, I don't give up that easily." The Science Empress narrowed her eyes. She began to follow them as well.
"He forgot that I need another child!"
"...Umm…yeah, I might sit this one out." Leila shook her head. Don't they realise that they have all the time in the world?
She even went to see doctors to figure out how Innovators age. Simply put, their ageing is very weird. Instead of getting older, she got a bit younger, as if Innovator powers stuck in her twenties.
For how long will it be? No one really knows.
