CHAPTER 58 Call of Blood and Revenge of the Void

The courtyard of Nabhgadh was now not a cremation ground. It was an open shroud. Ash particles were dancing in the air, as if death had scattered rangoli with its own hands. Nirag, who had a glowing wound on his chest from the attacks of Aksh and Kalpit, was still standing. Broken, but not defeated.

He touched the wound on his chest with his fingers. His fingers burned like hot coal. He laughed loudly. A laugh that had pain, anger, and a strange kind of hunger in it.

You think you defeated me, his voice was double. One of Nirag, one of Andhak Void. This wound only increases my hunger.

Then.

A roaring sound from above. As if the sky was tearing.

Everyones eyes turned upward.

Agni was descending from the rampart. He was not jumping. He was descending. Flames of fire were making stairs under his feet, with every step stone was melting into lava. In his right hand was Jwala. Its red color had now become deep like blood. In his left hand was Neer sword Varshini. Its blue glow had a painful peace.

As soon as Agni landed on the ground, the soil stepped back. His eyes were fixed on Nirag. In them was not fire, but frozen lava.

He raised his hand toward Akshansh, Anvay, Aksh, and Kalpit. Step back.

His voice was so cold that the air froze. This is a matter between father and son.

Agni slowly moved toward Nirag. With every step, the ground burned. Smoke rose, stones cracked. Nirag raised his head. His third eye was twitching, as if a snake was waking up.

Come, father, Nirag said mockingly, the corners of his lips soaked in blood. Come to cut the throat of your own blood.

There were tears in Agni eyes. But those tears were not tears, they were melted steel. Nirag. my son. What have you done, his voice was broken, but every word had burning pain. That innocent childhood. That learning I gave you. Where did all that go. You killed my friends. You turned this earth into hell. Why, Nirag. Why did you give shelter to that Andhak Void inside you.

Nirag shouted loudly. His voice became double, the fight of two souls.

I did not choose him. He chose me. Because I was tired of your light. Your morality, your duty. All this is weakness. Andhak Void gave me the power you could never give. I am now his son. He is my real father.

Hearing this, Agni patience broke.

He swung Jwala in the air. A wave of fire came from the sword, tearing through the air toward Nirag.

Nirag raised Andhak Dhaar. The two swords clashed.

Boom.

No sound. A shockwave. The remaining walls of Nabhgadh shook, piles of debris began to shift again. Agni struck one blow after another. With every strike, a question.

Was it for this that I taught you to wield weapons. Clang. Swords clashed.

Was it for this that Neer gave you love like his own son. Thud. Another strike.

Where is that Nirag who used to show mercy even to enemies.

Nirag was blocking every blow. But Agni anger was a disaster. That Nirag is dead, father. You killed him. By putting so many expectations on him.

Nirag released a black ray from his third eye. Straight toward Agni chest.

Agni put Varshini forward. Neer sword cut that dark energy into two pieces.

But Nirag did not stop.

He clenched his fist. And pulled black fire from the ground. The fire surrounded Agni from all sides. His body began to burn, but Agni did not feel the pain. There was only one thing in his eyes. Nirag.

Nirag. Stop. There is still time, Agni shouted.

No, Nirag roar shook the air. Now time is only for ash.

Nirag threw his sword. And grabbed Agni neck and lifted him in the air. Both were flying upward. Nirag fingers were digging into Agni skin, leaving burning marks.

See, father. how helpless your fire is in front of my void.

Agni saw. The Andhak Void inside Nirag had now completely taken over. Nirag face was distorting. Eyes turning black, lips blue. He opened his third eye completely. Energy was gathering in it that could burn the whole Nabhgadh in a moment.

Now be sacrificed, Nirag prepared to release the ray.

Then.

A rustle from behind.

Varunya ran with lightning speed. Her blue eyes were glowing, an unshakeable decision on her face. Nirag thought. She is coming to attack Agni.

Yes, Varunya, finish him, Nirag laughed.

But Varunya did not do what Nirag thought.

She gave a strong push to Agni. Agni flew far away. And Nirag deadly ray passed over his head and destroyed a tower in the distance.

Nirag was stunned. Varunya. What is this.

Before Nirag could understand, Varunya took a clay pot from her waist. Small, plain, but with complex carvings on it. She quickly threw it and broke it where the three elements and the void had met.

Boom.

A terrible explosion happened. When that clay pot broke, a new form appeared. A glowing particle.

Varunya reached Agni. She grabbed Agni hand. And placed that particle on his palm. That particle looked insignificant, but the light coming from it was as if thousands of universes had gathered in one place.

Acharya, put this on Varshini edge, Varunya voice had emotions for the first time. Not fear. Hope. Use it. Or it will swallow everyone.

Seeing this, Nirag went mad. His face turned black with anger. Varunya. You betrayed me. You will kill me with this particle.

Varunya turned and looked at Nirag. A painful smile was on her lips.

I am not killing you, Nirag. I am trying to save you.

Agni looked at that particle sized weapon. It was trembling in his palm, as if a huge storm was trapped inside it. He placed it on Varshini.

Suddenly.

Both swords, Jwala and Varshini, began to melt in Agni hands. Fire and water together, merging into each other. And joining with that particle, a new sword was being born. A sword that was neither fire nor water. It was only Justice.

Nirag raised his sword. And rushed toward Agni for the last time.

I will destroy you.

Agni closed his eyes. And raised that new weapon.

The whole Nabhgadh was submerged in white light.
