Chapter 27 The Shadow Drum and the Frozen Revenge
Agni Akshansh Aksh and Kalpit followed that scream and entered the chamber where ice was frozen everywhere The air was so cold that breathing felt like needles piercing the lungs Akshansh covered his ears and his fingers were turning blue Aksh and Kalpit drew their swords but the increasing cold began to grip their fists and a thin layer of ice started forming on the edges of their swords
A dim frozen light spread in the chamber from the dark ice Aksh Kalpit and Akshansh began to shiver and their teeth chattered
Agni eyes filled up Neer stood before him
Neer body had transformed into a blue light An intense illuminated blue aura was emanating from his body so strong that Agni himself could not go near him It was as if an invisible blazing shield was keeping him away In Neer blue eyes there was a rage that was not fire but like a storm of the deep ocean Calm Merciless And destructive His body was releasing such cold wind that it froze the bones directly The entire chamber was frozen with ice
On the floor below King Ravitej sat with his hands folded as if someone had frozen him right there Blood was flowing from his head and there were injuries in various places The drops of blood flowing from his head fell down and as soon as they touched the floor they turned into pieces of red ice The king was kneeling before Neer with his hands folded and trembling His clothes were torn He was begging for his life

Neer was still looking at him with rage In Neer hands was a small drum that had turned completely black Black energy was emanating from that drum swirling in the air and making the ice crystals around it even darker Neer began playing the drum
The earth around began to tremble Agni was astonished to see this Agni said softly No Neer No Do not do this
Akshansh was startled to see this He said Margdarshak what is in that drum that you are so afraid of
Agni looked at Akshansh and said in a trembling voice The Chhaya Damru

Agni said Yes The Chhaya Damru A drum whose unstruck sound is like endless arrows before which no black magic and no dark power can stand But today this Chhaya Damru given by Mayaangini herself has become the form of death It will take King Ravitej life

Neer began descending from the air Agni caught Neer in his hands Neer body had become weak The Chhaya Damru disappeared from Neer hands Neer body was weakening He was in Agni hands Neer looked into Agni eyes and said Agni I have taken revenge for the death of our son
And saying this his eyes closed Agni caught him in his hands Akshansh took Agni and Neer swords Jwala and Varshini from Agni hands Agni lifted Neer in his arms and began carrying him First the stairs of the palace then the main gate then to the horse He seated Neer on the horse and then sat on the horse himself placing Neer before him He tied Neer to himself with a cloth tied around his waist and began riding the horse fast The sound of the horse galloping echoed along the entire path There was no expression on Agni face as if he just wanted to take Neer safely to his kingdom somehow Agni pulled the reins of his horse harder The horse galloped even faster towards Prakashgadh Akshansh Kalpit and Aksh kept watching Agni and began following right behind
After a journey of several hours Agni finally reached Prakashgadh He stopped his horse in front of the palace and then lifted Neer onto his back and walked inside the palace He laid Neer on a bed in a chamber inside and quickly brought water in a clay pot He began cleaning Neer entire body with a cloth Then he cleaned the dust on his face and fixed his hair and said Neer are you alright
Just then Akshansh arrived and with him came Aksh and Kalpit As soon as Akshansh entered the chamber he said Margdarshak
Just then Agni looked at Akshansh and signaled him to be quiet Akshansh stopped right there Agni went to Akshansh and took his and Neer swords Jwala and Varshini from him and latched the chamber door from outside Agni said No one will speak Neer is sleeping otherwise he will wake up He looked at Aksh and Kalpit and then at Akshansh Akshansh signaled with his eyes to stay calm Akshansh said to Agni Margdarshak compose yourself Margdarshak Neer will recover soon Do not worry
Agni looked at Akshansh and said What has happened to me It has happened to Neer And he opened the door and sat down beside Neer Aksh started to go inside but Akshansh stopped him Stop Aksh We must give Margdarshak some time
Aksh nodded yes Akshansh along with Kalpit and Aksh began walking outside And Agni rested his head near Neer head and fell asleep and murmured Neer When will you wake up
