After a quick shower, he went down to the dining area and saw Raam already having lunch while looking at his phone with interest, he didn't notice Gideon had come close until Jaice cawed to get his attention towards them.
After having lunch together, they left the Hanjaan market to get back to Kamisk before Gideon's parents came back from the farm.
But, when they reached home, they stood in front of the couple who had been waiting for them since morning, keeping their eyes focused on the doorway to welcome their beloved son who had gone out to hunt monsters.
Seeing Gideon getting down from the bike, Sienna ran to him with a smile hugging him and kissing him all over his face which made him protest, which went to the drain that was running close to them.
"Mom … I am 15 now, you can't treat me like a baby anymore." He said with a frown which made her laugh.
"You will always be a baby to us, kid. Even when you have kids of your own." Henry said which only made him groan in frustration.
Henry hugged him from the side while tactfully trying to get him away from his overprotecting and caring mom so he could get inside the house away from the eyes of the neighbours.
Raam followed them into the house with a teasing smile which made Gideon more shy and shot a tiny angry look at him. Ramm immediately stopped smiling and turned towards Sienna who brought them an evening snack and freshly brewed cold coffee for them.
It was shoved into Raam's hands before even he could protest against it and looked pathetically towards Henry who looked away whistling as if he didn't notice the silent plea from Raam.
Raam left around 07:00 PM after explaining everything that had happened in the forest which made Sienna more concerned and angry at Gideon for taking a task that was far more dangerous than they had agreed upon.
She was clearly not ready to accept that it was just a Tier-1 task that was agreed by them at the beginning of his adventure journey. She was angry and concerned at the same time which made Gideon feel guilty of accepting a task that took him into a forest that was full of dangers.
Henry, knowing Sienna, kept his thoughts and feelings in check, not daring to utter even a word until his wife spat out all she had in her heart and regained her calm and matured face.
Only then he said "We have to let him go, honey." Which made her stare at him with anger that made him feel a little scared, but didn't show it on his face, but kept a resolute expression.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?" Sienna asked louder than usual showing that she is angry again.
"I am sorry, honey. But, he is not a kid anymore. He is an adventurer who has to take on tasks and complete them to earn some dallans. We can't hold him back." Henry said with a little quiver in his voice which didn't go unnoticed.
"I am not letting my son go alone on dangerous tasks. He should be safe." Sienna rebuked him while breathing heavily trying to control her anger.
"I am not alone, mom. Raam would be there, at least for some time." Gideon said feeling he had to advocate his own freedom.
"NO. You will not go out again. Not even if the village guardians come with you." She said looking at him as if she was going to chop him into pieces.
"Don't scare him, honey. He has to find his own way in this world. He can't walk the road we pave for him if he is not willing to." Henry said in a soft voice, hugging her softly from behind her while placing his chin on her shoulder.
This made her angry eyes turn moisture with tear drops flowing down her cheeks. "I can't let him... He is my son." Sienna said, turning around, burying her head in his chest.
Henry caressed her back while humming a melody which she loves to hear, trying to calm her while subtly gesturing to Gideon to go to his room.
Gideon nodded and went to his room and sat on the bed with a complicated expression on his face.
He knew Sienna and Henry love and care for him like he is their own biological son, but today's family drama is making him hesitant to take even a single task of fighting from the Adventures Association.
'I think I should be thankful to them and work on the farm, safe in front of them.' He thought while keeping his hands on his head as if he was suffering from a head splitting pain that he couldn't ignore anymore.
Feeling his mind is in turmoil, Jaice flew to his side and pecked his thigh with a soft caw as if saying that everything was going to be fine.
He patted her head softly heaving a heavy sigh of breath before lying on his bed with Jaice on his chest.
Gideon felt a pleasant and warm current through his body when she laid on his chest. He could feel her breath over his chest and their hearts beating together like a rhythm.
With that soothing rhythm, he slept with a calm and peaceful mind not caring about what would happen to him in the future.
He woke up at 04:00 AM the next day and sneaked out of the house not to wake up his foster parents and went to his morning jogging session which he couldn't do the previous day in the Hanjaan market.
He kept jogging around inside the defence wall till 05:30 PM before coming back home and continued doing his morning exercises.
After completing his exercise and a quick shower, he went to the dining hall to see Henry as usual reading the newspaper with his tea while Sienna was happily humming to her favourite song, cooking breakfast in the kitchen, dancing? It was like, as if they did not fight last night over their son's safety and future.
Seeing them not noticing their arrival, Jaice cawed from Gideon's shoulder which made Henry spill tea on his shirt that he was about to sip while Sienna turned as if she was startled by their immediate appearance out of thin air, adjusting her clothes and hair with an awkward smile.
"Hello there. Didn't realize you were coming so soon." Sienna said with a shy and awkward look which made Gideon feel like he was seeing a teen girl who just got caught by someone doing a nadty prank on others.
"I woke up early and completed my routine exercises soon." Gideon said and sat on the chair close to the dining table looking at the television which was showing a music channel instead of the usual news channel which Henry listened to in the morning.
"I... I'll get you some fresh tea then. Just give me a minute." Sienna said wiping her wet hands on a clean towel that was hanging on her shoulder and started making tea.
"We are sorry for fighting like that in front of you, son. We shouldn't have done that." Henry said after a few seconds of silence.
"It's fine dad. You were fighting for your son's future. You want me to be safe and happy." Gideon said in a low voice so Sienna wouldn't hear him, while glancing at the kitchen from the corner of his eyes.
"I am sorry I burst out in anger at you yesterday son. I was only trying to keep you safe." Sienna said while placing a tea cup in front of Gideon and keeping a bowl at the centre of the table for Jaice.
"It's okay mom. You fought for what you think is good for me." Gideon said with a smile which made her sigh in relief, but still replied "No son. I should have been more lenient on you. You have to find your own place in the world and I give you my full permission to pursue what you want to become."
'Did I hear it right? Did she just agree to be and do what I want to?' Gideon thought while raising his brows in question looking at her with disbelief written all over his face.
"What are you looking at, son? I can be persuaded by the right person at the right time, if the situation is good enough." Sienna said looking at Henry who was clearly trying to control his smile.
'Man! What a woman she is? Changing sides way faster than the politicians after an election.' Gideon thought with a smile and felt relief in his mind as he almost got himself ready to leave the adventurer life and become a farmer just to make her happy.
After having breakfast he went to the Adventure Association to submit his task completion letter that was given to him by Max, the security guard in the Hajaan market and get the task rewards.
He was too eager to visit the Adventure Association after getting Sienna's permission and wanted to see if there are any other tasks that would allow him to fight a monster that is stronger than what he had fought so far.
He also left Jaice with his parents to go to the farm and help them if needed in chasing the monsters that try to enter the farm.
