Chapter 281: The World He Yearns For, Imu Once Personally Shaped
Mary Geoise, Pangaea Castle.
Room of Flowers.
The four Five Elders — who had decisively abandoned Saint Saturn and fled back to Mary Geoise just moments ago — were kneeling on the ground, their heads buried in the grass of the Room of Flowers.
They didn't dare look up at that Lord beneath the canopy in the distance.
But—
Thud. Thud.
The butterflies that fell into the Room of Flowers — their wings and limbs shattered — told them everything. That Lord was very angry.
And the reason was self-evident.
They could feel it. A certain part of the Abyssal Sea Contract that had been connected to their souls for hundreds of years had permanently disappeared.
Saturn was dead.
This made them glad they hadn't stayed on that terrifying island.
It also made them terrified — because they knew that although Hebi was the culprit behind Saturn's death, Saturn's ultimate demise had been dealt by the very Lord before them.
"Lord Imu, please forgive us."
"We are not afraid of battle — it was merely an expedient measure."
"Please give us another chance!"
"This incident happened suddenly. We didn't expect—"
They struck their heads against the ground, displaying the most submissive posture.
And before them—
Imu stood beneath the canopy of the Pillar of the World, looking down at these four subordinates.
He raised His hand, His vibrant, youthful fingers curling slightly.
He could feel that a portion of His power was permanently lost.
Just like at God Valley and Dressrosa — only that person, only Star Lord, could do such a thing.
And this time, through the connection of the contract, He also felt Star Lord's sharpness. The man was no longer afraid of Him. He had already begun to catch up.
So Imu truly felt a sense of urgency.
Someone was coveting His divine throne. He needed to make a move.
But—
He calmly looked at the four Five Elders below. These were the minions He relied upon.
Clearly possessing power yet cowardly. Clearly swearing loyalty yet harboring their own ambitions.
Cold killing intent appeared in Imu's heart.
A moment later, it dissipated.
He was very angry — even wishing He could immediately retract the Abyssal Sea Contracts from these four. But He couldn't.
The death of one of the Five Elders was already a massive incident that would shake the heavens. If the Five Elders all died at the same time, the structure of the entire world would fall into chaos. Although they were incompetent, they had nevertheless been the "highest authority" for centuries and were the cornerstone stabilizing the Celestial Dragons.
Imu didn't want to lose them just yet.
However—
VMMM!
Silently, Imu raised His hand.
Invisible power spread out.
The next moment, the expressions of the four Elders changed drastically.
They could feel it — the power of the Abyssal Sea Contract within their bodies was being stripped away.
"Lord Imu!"
Their already aged faces began to rapidly age further. Panic seized them, thinking Imu was going to reclaim the contracts entirely.
But a moment later, they realized the stripping had quietly stopped.
Even though they had aged more than ten years in that brief moment, they were still alive.
They breathed a sigh of relief.
"This is a punishment."
The Source Energy of Lineage Factor extracted from their bodies shifted constantly in Imu's hand.
"Next time, if you repeat what you did today — I will let you feel the agony of decaying to death."
Imu said coldly.
"...Yes!"
All four responded at once.
They were unwilling, yet simultaneously somewhat glad — they understood that at least they had survived this time.
But beyond that—
"Lord Imu... what should we do next?"
The four Elders spoke somewhat hesitantly.
Even they were unsure of what to do now. Capturing The Zodiac was inevitable, but the power the other party had displayed now exceeded their understanding.
Matters concerning another God naturally required God Himself to decide.
Hearing this, Imu pondered for a moment.
Then—
"Push forward the establishment of the Star Hunters Unit. Let them be primarily responsible for finding and capturing The Zodiac — grant them all the authority they deserve."
"Garling will serve as the new Warrior God of Science and Defense."
"Besides that... the God's Knights are disbanded."
He spoke calmly, and every word sent a shock through the four Elders' hearts.
But a moment later, they understood His meaning.
Imu clearly did not trust their abilities — at least not their ability to capture The Zodiac.
And that was indeed the case.
After confirming that Star Lord had some method to steal His power — even the power of the Abyssal Sea Contract — Imu clearly couldn't leave power with the God's Knights any longer. Even the power of the Five Elders had been mostly reclaimed.
Leaving these powers outside meant that once The Zodiac seized the opportunity, it would essentially be delivering supplements to Star Lord.
So He decisively chose to disband the God's Knights and instead handed the responsibility of opposing The Zodiac to the Star Hunters Unit. Letting the two heroes of the Marines search for and deal with The Zodiac was clearly a more worthwhile choice.
"Lord Imu, the Marines... especially Garp and that Kuru — they both have Conqueror's Haki, and both have done rebellious things. They are not trustworthy people..."
The four Elders spoke in unison.
In fact, they didn't need to remind Him. Imu Himself knew this — He couldn't possibly entrust everything to the Marines.
But He no longer needed a bloated organization like the God's Knights either.
So—
"After the God's Knights are disbanded, let Shamrock come to Me."
He toyed with the massive amount of Source Energy of Lineage Factor extracted from the four Elders. "Besides that, dispatch CP0 again to contact a person for Me."
What He needed was a powerhouse who, after obtaining power, could truly clash with The Zodiac and defeat them.
"Contact... a person?"
The four Elders were bewildered. Who could Imu want them to contact personally?
And after Imu spoke the name, the four Elders almost suspected they had misheard.
"Lord Imu — you mean to cooperate with him? How is that possible?!"
They spoke almost instinctively.
But—
"I do not like to repeat Myself."
Imu offered no further explanation.
"Tell him for Me — he has seen My power. And the world he yearns for, I once personally shaped."
"If he is willing to cooperate, then... I do not mind letting that world happen again."
