"What the hell is that?"
Ramon squinted.
"Looks like a cloud."
"A cloud doesn't spin like that."
"Maybe it's a magical cloud."
"You're an idiot."
"Well! I'm drunk!"
"Then you are a drunk idiot!"
The sphere suddenly pulsed.
BOOM!
A shockwave tore across the ocean, and the fishing vessel rocked violently beneath their feet.
Several fishermen were thrown against the deck, while bottles and equipment went flying.
Sam grabbed the railing.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?"
The captain's face had gone pale.
"Keep turning!"
The ship began veering desperately to the side, but it was already too late. The dark sphere had stopped expanding.
A faint humming sound began to radiate from its depths, but it was so low that it was much easier to feel than to hear.
Everyone aboard watched it in dreadful anticipation, waiting for some great horror to emerge, yet nothing happened.
The violent rocking gradually subsided, and the waves calmed.
