"We don't need to worry about the Imperial Advanced Academy in tomorrow's challenge. But against the Chaos Academy's Magic Academy, our Mage Tower must win. This is a promise I made at the oath-taking ceremony before I came here. However, you must remember one thing: the students at the Magic Academy have varying levels of strength. Fight to the point and do not intentionally hurt anyone, otherwise it will have a bad impact on the reputation of our Mage Tower." In the conference room of the Los Empire's embassy in Chaos City, Albert looked at the dozen or so young mages present and said seriously.
"Master Uncle, those little brats from Chaos Academy who can't even hold a magic wand properly, I could wipe them all out by myself. There's nothing to worry about. Besides, battles are inherently dangerous, are we supposed to go easy on them?" Hank asked Albert with a relaxed expression.
"Yes, if I cast a spell and I'm worried they can't handle it, should I cast it or not?" George, sitting nearby, also asked, somewhat puzzled.
The other boys also looked quite relaxed, clearly not taking Chaos Academy seriously.
"During the battle, you may go all out, but just don't intentionally hurt anyone when the outcome is clear or the gap in strength is obvious." Albert nodded, looking at everyone with a somewhat serious expression, and said, "Although your strength is among the best of your peers in the Mage Tower, but don't underestimate Chaos Academy. In the annual challenge tournaments, Chaos Academy has always had some students with considerable strength participating, and in five previous challenge tournaments, Chaos Academy even emerged victorious. Not underestimating your opponents is a quality that a mage should possess."
"Yes!" Seeing Albert's serious expression, the teenagers all responded earnestly.
Hank merely gave a lazy reply, clearly not taking Albert's words to heart. He listlessly toyed with his green magic wand. With his level four mage's strength, he was more than capable of crushing all the students in this year's Chaos Academy—that's what his master had told him before he came.
"You've all been traveling for half a month, you must all be tired. Go and rest. You have battles tomorrow, so no one is allowed to go out tonight." Albert said, nodding to the group.
…
"Master Crassus, is that magic wand really purple?" Amy asked, tilting her head up beside Crassus.
"Of course it's real. You'll see in a moment. Why would your master lie to you?" Crassus nodded somewhat helplessly. He'd said the same thing the whole way, the little one's curiosity was just too strong. Fortunately, they'd arrived at Yulian's magic potion shop.
"Hello, Princess Amy." Black Charcoal greeted Amy, its tone quite respectful.
"Hello, Amy." Green Bean echoed.
"Hello, Black Charcoal and Green Bean!" Amy looked up and waved to the two birds, then excitedly walked towards the magic potion shop, calling out, "Master Yulian! I'm here to get my magic wand! Are you really done?"
"Little Amy, you're out of school?" Xi Xi held a clear, long-necked glass bottle, inside which green and red magic potions were slowly mixing. She smiled as she looked at Amy entering.
"Yes, hello Sister Xi Xi, I'm here to pick up my magic wand. Where's Teacher Yulian?" Amy nodded, looking at Xi Xi expectantly.
"The magic wand that Little Amy was so eager for is ready, of course it's done. Take a look and see if you like it." Before Xi Xi could speak, Yulian's hoarse voice came from inside the room. He slowly walked out, carrying a long, black box.
"You old codger, still playing mysterious? Hurry up and show it to us." Crassus walked in, glanced at the box in Yulian's hand, and scoffed.
"Lord Crassus." Xi Xi bowed respectfully to Crassus, looking at the box in Yulian's hand with equal curiosity. A magic wand crafted by three great mages—it was truly something to look forward to.
"Can I open it?" Amy's eyes lit up as she looked at the box in Yulian's hand, her gaze filled with anticipation.
"Of course." Yulian replied, handing the black box to Amy.
Amy carefully took the box, gently placed it on the chair beside her, clasped her hands together in front of her chest and blew on it, then slowly opened the lid with anticipation on her face.
A beam of purple light shone from the box, illuminating the ceiling and revealing the silhouette of a half-elf girl—the very same image printed on the Rou Jia Mo bag from the Restaurant Mai Mi.
The box shimmered with a pale purple light. A dark purple magic wand, about thirty centimeters long, lay quietly in the center of the box. It gradually narrowed from bottom to top, with a small segment in the middle. Its surface was smooth as jade, and its streamlined shape and deep black-gold texture exuded luxury.
At the end of the handle is a dazzling purple-gold crystal, with a hint of gold in the purple, resembling a deep eye. The beam of light projected onto the ceiling comes from this eye.
Beneath this purple-gold eye, a smaller crystal was embedded. Its surface was cut with many facets, making it equally dazzling, like a purple diamond.
"Wow!"
Amy's mouth dropped open, her face filled with surprise as she stared at the magic wand in the box. Her large, bright blue eyes sparkled. After a moment, she looked up at Yulian with disbelief and asked, "This...this is really for me?"
"Of course, we made it especially for Little Amy." Yulian smiled. Although it had taken a lot of time and effort to make this little magic wand, but seeing Amy's delighted expression made it all worthwhile.
"What a beautiful magic wand! And...is it made of black-purple magic crystal? It's known as the most magic-friendly material for top-tier magic wands, there are fewer than three made from it on the entire continent. Combined with the eyes of the purple-gold flaming bird...this magic wand is simply unbelievable!" Xi Xi couldn't help but exclaim in amazement.
"Little Amy, pick up the magic wand and silently recite the spell I taught you today. That's the correct way to use this magic wand." Crassus said with a smile.
"Okay, I'll try." Amy carefully took the magic wand out of the box. The wand, about the thickness of a thumb, felt warm and cool to the touch, with a substantial weight, yet it wasn't heavy at all, allowing for easy wielding.
The light projected from the flaming bird's eyes faded after Amy grasped the wand, the purplish-gold light receded into its eyeballs, as if an electric current was converging at the center.
"In my name, unseal this staff..." Amy closed her eyes and silently chanted in her heart. A dazzling purple-gold light shone from the eyes of the flaming bird, almost completely enveloping Amy.
Amy stopped chanting, and the light immediately faded, revealing a nearly two meters tall purple mage staff in her hand, like a pillar supporting the sky.
