Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Contemplating

"Oh no," Diamond gasped, "I'm doomed!"

Before she could think, she saw herself being dragged upstairs by Tanya.

"Alright, alright, I'm coming," Diamond said, adjusting herself before continuing her journey upstairs.

They both went to Tanya's room where they would get dressed.

She suddenly shivered at the atmosphere of Tanya's room.

Tanya had left her AC on, and now the room was as cold as cold could be.

"Tanya, you left your AC on again."

"Sorry, my bad," Tanya said and quickly turned it off before they would freeze.

Diamond could finally relax as warmth slowly seeped in.

Tanya swiftly moved toward her wardrobe, solely focused on looking for clothes for her, meanwhile Diamond scanned the room like an eagle, taking in every detail.

Tanya's room was impressively furnished.

It had a beautiful interior design. The walls were painted a light blue, the floor covered with a black and white fluffy rug, and the ceiling covered with white P.O.P which had a chandelier hanging from its center.

The room's decor was simple yet so beautiful. It said much about Tanya's taste for beautiful things.

"Uh-huh! This one," Diamond was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts by Tanya's voice.

She looked up to see Tanya holding up a beautiful pink-colored dress.

"No doubt, it's beautiful, but I can't wear that," Diamond said, looking at the length of the dress.

"Oh, come on, it's not bad. Just a little exposure won't hurt."

"You call that little? Unbelievable!"

"We are going clubbing, not some kind of church. See this as an opportunity to be free and relax. After all, you deserve it."

Diamond took a really deep breath and spoke, "Alright."

Tanya squealed in joy and handed the dress to Diamond.

Collecting the dress, Diamond swiftly removed her clothes and comfortably slipped into the dress Tanya had given her.

The dress clung to her like it was made for her body, accentuating her shape and revealing her thighs.

"Tanya," she called, feeling a little uncomfortable.

Tanya suddenly walked into the room with a fruit bowl in her hand when she stopped and her jaw dropped, revealing the already munched fruits that filled her mouth.

"What?" Diamond said, uncomfortably adjusting the dress.

Tanya swallowed hard and then she spoke.

"Diamond, you look extraordinarily beautiful. Wow, we are definitely going with this dress."

Diamond shot Tanya a death stare before going to the full-length mirror.

Her face suddenly softened as she took sight of her reflection.

"I look good though."

"Yes, you do," Tanya replied.

"Well, I can manage for today."

"That's my girl," Tanya said happily before handing Diamond the pair of heels.

Diamond took the heels from Tanya and put them on before going to the makeup station to do her hair and makeup.

Her hair was initially in waves, but now, Diamond had put it in a half bun and then let the rest flow down in beautiful waves with two curls dangling on each side of her face.

She then applied blush to her cheeks and mascara to her eyelashes.

"I'm ready," she said before glancing at Tanya.

Tanya wore a black body-fitted sequin dress. The neck was adorned with stones and beads.

Diamond's brows suddenly furrowed at the length. It was way shorter than hers, revealing a whole lot of her thighs.

"How do I look?" Tanya said while spinning to give Diamond a better view.

"Good, but the length," Diamond pointed.

Tanya waved her hands nonchalantly while rolling her eyes and walking toward the makeup station to put on some makeup.

"Won't you get some makeup on?" Tanya said, still concentrating on her face.

"I already did," Diamond said.

"Oh, I forgot. Always keeping it simple," Tanya said, picking up her cell phone. "I'm done. Let's go," she called out.

Diamond quickly put her cell phone into her bag before trailing off behind Tanya, and decided to go check on the house appliances.

She was suddenly startled by the sound of Tanya's voice.

"Diamond, where are you? Our cab is here," Tanya yelled out.

"I'm coming," Diamond yelled back. Taking one last look at the appliances, she picked up her bag and sprinted down the stairs and to the entrance.

Diamond finally let out a deep breath once she was inside the cab.

"Where were you?" Tanya asked while checking her appearance with her cell phone.

"Cleaning up your mess. Tanya, you need to be more careful. It's not a good habit to leave the house without switching off the house appliances."

Tanya knew she had just stirred up Diamond's bad memories. "I'm sorry," she said. "I... I just..."

"Forget?" She was suddenly cut off by Diamond.

"Yeah, I forget. But I'll try to remember from now on."

Diamond let out a faint smile and Tanya squeezed her hand gently.

Suddenly the cab stopped. Getting out, Diamond was met by a very lively and intimidating atmosphere.

"Oh Father," she gasped.
