The two elite guards stationed deep inside the cavernous, gem-lit tunnel greeted, respectfully bowing their heads. Even in the dim, bioluminescent glow, the tension radiating from the Mermaid Queen was palpable.
"Red alert! Go to the General and show him this." Seraphina's voice lost all traces of the warm, doting aunt from the garden, instantly replaced by the ruthless, absolute authority of a monarch facing a siege. She snapped her fingers, and a heavy silver token materialized before her, clearly the royal token.
"Tell him, Red Alert, every single warrior should get ready to defend the city! Go now!"
"Yes, My Queen!!"
The two guards quickly nodded their heads, hearing the absolute, chilling urgency in the Queen's tone. They understood that a Red Alert meant the survival of their entire species was on the line. They carefully took the token, their hands trembling slightly, and swam away, moving with incredible, desperate speed back toward the Silver City.
