Chapter 402: Descent of a God! The Dual World-Ending Meteors

Akainu Sakazuki took a heavy step forward, the rock beneath his boot instantly melting into a pool of glowing, crimson liquid. He glared fixedly at the figure looking down on all creatures, the fury in his eyes threatening to erupt. As a strong contender for the position of Navy Fleet Admiral, he absolutely refused to accept any so-called "god" placing themselves above Justice.

"Nothing but a pirate playing parlor tricks! I don't care what you are, before Absolute Justice, you will burn to ash! Great Eruption!"

Boom!

Akainu held nothing back. His right arm swelled into a miniature erupting volcano. A colossal fist of magma, carrying an apocalyptic heatwave, roared toward Uchiha Madara in the sky like an angry crimson dragon. The sheer thermal energy warped and twisted the very space around it.

Yet, the white-robed man didn't even blink. He merely floated there, arms crossed, the nine ink-black spheres behind him revolving slowly as if alive.

"Too slow."

Madara's voice was soft, yet it pierced clearly into everyone's ears, dripping with an arrogance and isolation carved directly into his bones.

Hum!

Just as the giant magma fist was about to consume him, one of the black Truth-Seeking Orbs moved. It didn't expand, nor did it emit any brilliant light; it simply floated forward like an ordinary dark marble to meet the steel-melting magma. There was no violent explosion as expected. No earth-shattering shockwave. The tiny black orb touched the magma, and like an eraser wiping away pencil marks, that terrifying Great Eruption silently vanished. It didn't even leave behind a wisp of smoke.

"What?!" For the first time, a look of pure bewilderment crossed Akainu's hardened face. Where was his magma? That was the absolute peak temperature of the Magma-Magma fruit, the strongest offensive power of any Logia! How could it just disappear like an illusion?

"Is this the power you take such pride in?" Madara finally lowered his head, his Rinnegan coldly sweeping over the five "ants" below. "Such rudimentary chakra control is inferior to a three-year-old Uchiha. As dancers meant to entertain me, you are sorely lacking."

Humiliation. Naked humiliation.

"You bastard!!" Akainu flew into a complete rage, his entire body turning into churning magma as he prepared to blast into the sky.

"Oya oya~ Sakazuki, it seems your bag of tricks won't work here," a drawling, lazy voice called out. Kizaru Borsalino transformed into countless motes of light, vanishing instantly from the ground. Despite his sarcastic tone, the eyes hidden behind his sunglasses were horrifyingly sharp. If power was going to be bizarrely neutralized by those black spheres, then he would settle this with speed.

"Light Speed Kick!"

In the next fraction of a second, Kizaru appeared directly behind and to the side of Madara. His long leg, shining with blinding golden light and carrying enough kinetic energy to shatter an island, swept viciously toward Madara's neck. At this distance. At this speed. No one could react in time! Kizaru's mouth had already hooked into a triumphant smirk.

Thud!

A dull impact echoed through the air. Kizaru's smile froze. His leg had stopped mid-air. He hadn't struck Uchiha Madara's body; instead, half a meter away from his target, he had crashed into an invisible wall. No. Not a wall. Kizaru's Observation Haki scanned frantically, but he couldn't sense anything at all. Yet in his field of vision, Uchiha Madara maintained his arms-crossed posture, not even bothering to turn his head.

"Is this the limit of your speed?" Madara's voice carried a hint of disappointment.

Before Kizaru could process the meaning of his words, a massive force suddenly erupted from the void.

Bang!

As if swatted by an invisible giant's hand, Kizaru was launched downward like a golden meteor, crashing straight into the earth.

Boom!

The ground fractured, kicking up a massive plume of dust and smoke. A bottomless, human-shaped crater had appeared on the surface. Kizaru lay at the bottom, the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth a stark contrast to his pale face. Half of his sunglasses were shattered. He stared blankly at the sky. What exactly had just hit him? He couldn't see it, he couldn't touch it, and his Observation Haki couldn't even detect it.

"Borsalino!" Sengoku's heart plummeted to rock bottom.

It had only been one exchange. Akainu, wielding the highest offensive power, had his attack bizarrely erased. Kizaru, boasting the fastest speed, had been instantly swatted out of the sky by an unseen strike. And the man named Uchiha Madara hadn't so much as lifted a finger!

"Hey, Sengoku," Garp said, rolling his wrists as he shrugged off his Marine coat—the heavy mantle representing Justice falling to the dirt. The old man's muscles coiled tight, and terrifying Armament Haki encased his fists like black armor. "Looks like we old bones are really gonna have to put our lives on the line this time."

Garp bared his white teeth in a grin that was laced with absolute ruthlessness. "If we don't bring the same fire we used to fight Rocks back in the day, we're all going to die right here."

"Yeah, I know," Sengoku breathed out heavily, taking off his glasses and tossing them aside. A golden radiance began to erupt from his body. The tactical mastermind Sengoku vanished, replaced by a towering, heaven-spanning golden Buddha! Human-Human Fruit, Mythical Type, Model: Daibutsu!

A massive golden palm slammed into the earth, the resulting shockwave blowing away the lingering dust. The five highest fighting forces of the Navy finally shed all of their underestimation. They formed a tight circle, standing back-to-back, facing a monumental, sweeping danger.

High in the sky, Uchiha Madara looked down at the sudden surges of power. A flicker of genuine interest finally graced his apathetic face. "Oh? Do you finally wish to dance?"

Madara slowly extended a hand, palm facing upward, and the nine Truth-Seeking Orbs behind him began to dance joyfully. "Since you are in such high spirits, I suppose I should take this a bit more seriously. After all, it has been quite some time since I was loosening my joints."

Madara hooked a single finger.

Rumble—!

The sky darkened. It wasn't the darkness of storm clouds, nor was it the setting sun. Sengoku and the others looked up in horror. Ten thousand meters above them, a meteorite so unimaginably massive it blotted out their entire field of vision was slowly descending, radiating an aura of total annihilation. Its sheer volume dwarfed Marineford several times over! The friction of its descent ignited the atmosphere, dyeing the sky blood red. The suffocating despair of facing the literal end of the world turned everyone's blood to ice.

"Are… are you joking…" Akainu, who had been shouting about incinerating everything moments ago, stood with his mouth agape, completely oblivious to his cigar dropping to the dirt. Was this something a human could do? Casually summoning a meteor? This was divine punishment!

"Tengai Shinsei." Uchiha Madara's voice rolled across the heavens like the judgment of the Grim Reaper. "Now then, guests from another world. Tell me, how will you deal with this? Of course…"

A cruel smirk curved Madara's lips. "If one is not enough… What will you do about the second one?"

As his words fell, the cloud layer was violently torn apart again. In the first meteor's wake, a second one of equal magnitude shattered the atmosphere, bringing with it an even more terrifying weight! A double meteor strike!

Despair. True, unadulterated despair.

Aokiji let out a bitter chuckle. This was the "danger" he had warned them about. But in the face of such godlike power, words felt utterly meaningless.

"Snap out of it!" Sengoku's giant Buddha form let out a furious roar, his voice vibrating the very rocks around them. "Block it! Even if we can't, we have to! We are the Navy, the bearers of 'Justice'! If we fall here, where does that leave the honor of the Marines?! Garp! Borsalino! Sakazuki! Kuzan! Attack together!!"

Boom!

Five silhouettes, burning with an aura that accepted death, charged upward toward the falling apocalypse. Like five moths diving into a roaring inferno. Beneath those two colossal meteors, Uchiha Madara maintained his crossed arms, silently watching the spectacle. He looked like a bored deity observing ants trying to push a boulder.

"I hope you can entertain me, even just a little," he murmured. "After all, this game has only just begun."
