Chapter 6 - The first floor

[You have entered the Tower of Trials for the first time]

[After completing the floor requirements the User will be able to access the next floor or return to the last major zone. If you decide to return, you will have to re-complete all floor levels consecutively until the next major zone is unlocked]

[When a major zone is unlocked, all lower floors are able to be visited at will]

[Floor 1-9 is set in a restricted area. Movement is restricted to a certain area until the current floor quest is complete. Once complete, the area for movement will be expanded and a new floor quest generated]

[Floor 1 mission requirements - Survive 3 nights]

(Inside the tower I'm going to try and do a PoV shift - let me know if you think it's worth continuing)

I opened my eyes to a dense forest. No roads, tracks or visible landmarks to use for navigation.

'I know about the forst two floor quests thanks to the information I got from working at Scarlett's place, more than that is just'

'With the new knowledge afforded by the Outdoorsman skill, I knew what my priorities were. Build shelter, get water, get food. Anything else is secondary'

With that in mind I listened for running water. If he needed to build a camp, a watering hole or pond would be my best bet, I wanted to have some of the bare necessities. Finding water would double as a potential place to find animals attracted to the water source.

'I'm not hearing anything, random direction it is'

Not having a compass or a sense of general cardinal directions, I could only guess and listen out for water or look for animal tracks later.

Usually the direction of the sun would be useful, but as I'm in a different world, the direction of the rising/setting sun may be different.

2 hours of dense bushes and muddy slopes later, a small green imp and I stumbled to a small clearing with a creek not far away covered in mud and leaves.

'This will have to do if I want a decent camp by night fall'

"Go grab some rocks and sticks"

During the 2 hour journey, I summoned my first symbiont, the lesser goblin.

It was around 3 foot with skinny arms and legs holding an equally small wooden club not dissimilar to my own. It didn't give off the strong or reliable vibe that I hoped it would, but rocking a massive yellowish mohawk, who cares?

As long as it can fight then it can be forgiven.

'I wasn't expecting a whole lot but I still feel a little let down by my first symbiant. Doesn't have a conciousness either by that dead fish look in it's eyes, whether that will change with stronger monsters I have no clue'

If the goblin had some level of intelligence or conciousness then I decided to name it, however the goblin only had enough 'smarts' to understand basic orders.

Another 2 and a half hours of resource collecting and building later, a small camp with a fire, two sheltered beds and some traps around the creek rested in the clearing.

"It hasnt been able to do any complex tasks like buidling, it also hasn't shown signs of fatigue. Whether that means it can be fatigued is something I will need to find out eventually, but not now" poking at the idle goblin.

The small second bed was built for exactly this reason, if something got attracted to them in the night and both the goblin and I were exhausted then it was game over.
