One wrong decision of mine destroyed the life of an innocent, and because of that sin, I now stand here as a demon, guarding this bell. My battle will test your sense of justice. I will present to you the same unfinished case, and you must deliver the correct judgment based on your traditions, culture, and societal values."
Claire took a deep breath and suppressed her fear. "Ask, Vardas. I am ready."
Vardas closed his eyes, as though turning the pages of memories that were centuries old. Then he began his tale.
