Chapter 171 - Expeditionary Fleet

"Alright, Sister Mobius."

Delta nodded.

"Such a good girl!"

Mobius chuckled as she patted Delta's head.

"Sister Mobius, will Kyuusyou come with me?" Delta tilted her head and asked.

"That little one Kyuusyou will be taken care of by someone else. You can meet anytime you want, so there's no need to worry."

Mobius explained.

"Oh."

Delta nodded again.

"I'll take her away first. Finish this world as soon as possible!"

Mobius turned to the Queen of Blades and said. She had used her authority to enter this assessment world midway.

Excessive interference would affect the Queen of Blades' evaluation results.

"Mm, I'll resolve it as quickly as I can."

The Queen of Blades nodded in agreement.

Mobius gave a slight nod.

"Sister Mobius... may I ask you a question?"

Delta looked at Mobius, her eyes shining with longing.

Mobius was slightly startled by her expression, then smiled gently. "What is it? Go ahead."

"If people die in this world, can they be revived?"

"After the assessment ends, this world will be reset. Aside from the unnecessary trash, everyone else will be revived."

Mobius replied.

"Oh... so that's how it is..."

Delta murmured softly.

"No more questions? Let's go."

"Mm."

Mobius took Delta's small hand.

Their figures vanished from the tree house in a flash of teleportation.

...

Houkai Universe.

Kiana watched as Mobius took Delta away.

I wonder if Mobius knows how to take care of a child.

Judging by the Queen of Blades' personality, it felt a little subtle.

That kind of superiority complex—contempt from those above toward those below.

It wasn't limited to the Queen of Blades.

The Raiden Mei from another Honkai world, who stayed with Elysia and her own Kiki clone, was nothing like the gentle and virtuous Mei from Honkai Impact 3rd. Instead, she carried a contradictory, intriguing blend of extreme pride and self-restraint.

Or perhaps that was Raiden Mei's true personality to begin with. It was only after the isolation incident at Chiba Academy that she turned into the cooking housewife of the Honkai Impact 3rd storyline.

Forget it. Thinking about this now had no meaning.

Just minor issues of altered character fates.

Kiana's gaze shifted toward the Finality Empire.

Ever since she and Kallen disappeared, the Finality Empires across various universes had fallen into chaos. It was manageable at first, but later on, dictators who had grown strong enough launched secessionist rebellions, breaking away to establish their own regimes.

Before Kiana left, the AI systems that managed the Empire's planets had already received an order: if the majority opposed the Empire, evacuation procedures were to begin.

As long as the rebels gained majority support on a planet, they could achieve independence.

They only succeeded because she allowed them to succeed. Otherwise, how could mere flesh-and-blood mortals withstand techniques like Chibaku Tensei or neutron annihilation?

Of course, there was another reason they dared to rebel.

The loyalist Astartes had launched an operation known as the Redemption Crusade, taking the vast majority of the Astartes and the Imperial Navy fleet to search for the missing Divine Emperor and Regent.

This had drastically weakened loyalist forces.

Most of their search consisted of wandering aimlessly through the cosmos, attacking any aliens they encountered while searching.

Only a small portion found the correct direction, following the inter-universal passage she had left behind into other universes.

Even so, they were merely roaming among the interconnected universes of the Empire.

"The time is almost here."

Kiana's gaze settled upon an Imperial Redemption Fleet composed of over three thousand warships.

At this moment, the fleet was traveling through a cosmic passage.

With a mere thought from her—

The entire Redemption Fleet was instantly pulled out of the passage and into the solar system of a parallel Honkai universe.

In this parallel world's timeline, it was the year 1477. In just a few days, Saint Kallen would be executed by hanging.

Suddenly dragged out of the passage and assuming they had suffered an unknown attack, the Redemption Fleet immediately activated their shields. After waiting for a while without sustaining any further assault, they switched to quantum stealth mode.

The entire fleet vanished from the cosmos.

Redemption Fleet.

Aboard the battleship Saint's Prayer.

The fleet AI, the Fleet Commander, the Chapter Master, and other high-ranking officials gathered to discuss the incident.

They had encountered sudden attacks many times while traversing other universes.

But being forcibly pulled out mid-transit from the cosmic webway was a first.

"This solar system is registering abnormal Honkai energy fluctuations. The source appears to be the Moon."

The fleet AI projected a star map and marked the anomaly.

"Can you confirm whether it's a creation of Her Majesty the Divine Emperor?"

The Fleet Commander asked.

During their search across universes, they occasionally encountered relics left behind by the Divine Emperor—objects whose purposes were unknown.

Approach them recklessly, and no matter who you were, you would be attacked.

"Unable to confirm. I cannot establish communication with it."

The fleet AI shook its head.

"Deploy a probe first."

After a moment of thought, the Chapter Master proposed.

"If it is one of Her creations, we must proceed with caution."

The Fleet Commander said solemnly.

Without permission, tampering with Her belongings never ended well.

A droplet-shaped probe shot toward the blue planet.

...

In front of the Schicksal Cathedral.

Kallen Kaslana stood upon the wooden execution platform. Rough shackles bound her wrists, and dirt stains marred her white nun's habit.

The square below was packed with people. Some held wooden signs reading "Execute the traitor." Some wept quietly. More wore expressions of numbness and confusion.

"Proceed with the execution."

The executioner's cold voice shattered the silence. Two armored guards stepped forward and placed the noose around Kallen's neck.

Kallen allowed them to do so. She closed her eyes and let out a long breath.

Everything was over.

Suddenly—

Boom!

A deafening explosion erupted in the distance. The southeastern corner of the city wall collapsed with a thunderous crash. Black Honkai energy surged forth like a tide, accompanied by shrill roars. Three massive Honkai Beasts smashed through the defensive fortifications, their crimson eyes sweeping over the panicked crowd.

"Honkai Beasts!"

Someone screamed and fled. The crowd descended into chaos. The guards drew their weapons, but they were no match for the Beasts' claws.

Kallen's heart sank.

Otto.

To save her, he had released the Honkai Beasts imprisoned by Schicksal.

At that moment, Otto's figure appeared, walking toward the execution platform.

"Kallen, come with me! These people don't understand you. Schicksal has no right to judge you! I'll destroy this place. We'll go somewhere no one can disturb us!"

"Otto! Look at what you've done!"

Kallen exerted force with both hands. The shackles shattered. She struck Otto hard across the face.

"Kallen, we have to go."

"No. I'm not going with you! I am a Kaslana. I am the people's shield."

Kallen broke free from Otto's grasp.

She chose to fight the Honkai Beasts and protect the civilians.

A little girl fell to the ground, about to be pierced by a Beast's claw.

Kallen dashed forward, throwing herself in front of the child. Her own body suffered a fatal wound.

Kallen!

Seeing this, Otto was overwhelmed with grief.

Wham!

A blue beam of light descended from the sky.

The Honkai Beasts were instantly reduced to ash.

The sky darkened.

Otto looked up.

Warships materialized one after another, hovering overhead.

Then white, black, and golden figures descended like blades falling from the heavens.

While descending, the Astartes adjusted their posture. In their hands, gauss rifles fired with precision. Coherent beams pierced through the armor of the Honkai Beasts.

Every Beast that had been released was annihilated.

The Astartes landed one after another.

Thud!

Heavy boots struck the stone pavement. Power armor collided with brick and stone, producing deep, resonant impacts.

"Quick, save her!"

"Is she really Lady Kallen?"

"Doesn't matter—save her first!"

...

The Astartes Apothecaries pulled out vials and forced medicine into Kallen's mouth. Librarians cast healing spells. Others used cellular reconstruction beams and various advanced technologies.

Every possible method was employed.

"..."

Saint Kallen was dragged back from the brink of death in a daze.

"???"

She slowly sat up, staring down at her abdomen—completely restored. Then she looked up at the layers upon layers of Astartes surrounding her.

Her head buzzed.

"Who are you people?!"
