Shota sat bound tightly by Kushina's adamantine chains. He could not move even a single limb. The chains wrapped around his arms, legs, torso, and neck, holding his head facing backward.
He could not turn to look at his attacker and use his Erasure. He tried to break through the chain through sheer power but the chains felt unbreakable.
Even when he tried to flex his muscles and reinforce his body with what little chakra he could gather, the chains did not budge. They tightened slightly in response, like they were alive and warning him not to struggle.
Teuchi stood behind the counter with a worried look on his face. He glanced between Kushina and Shota. His hands hovered over a pot of boiling broth. He did not know what to do.
A small child in civilian clothes was suddenly bound by chains. Hokage's wife and one of his most regular customers had attacked him.
Kakashi too stood with the binding cloth tight around his arm and legs. He could not move freely. He spoke to answer Kushina's question of what was going on.
"Kushina-san, he is a Suna nin. He is the infamous Eraserhead of Suna. It seems like he snuck inside Konoha."
Shota screamed inside his mind.
'You little rascal. I was having my ramen in peace. And snuck inside? Your fucking Hokage invited us!'
He wanted to shout it out loud. He wanted to tell Kakashi that the Kazekage and himself was a guest. That the Hokage had welcomed them. That this was an official visit. But the chains pressed against his throat. He stayed silent. He did not want to make the situation worse.
Kushina looked at Kakashi and nodded.
"Of course, I know it. Minato told me about him. Why do you think that I had bound everything, even his head? I can't have him looking at me and erasing my chakra after all."
Shota could feel his chakra being suppressed by the adamantine chains. The chains were famous for a reason. They had held back the Nine-Tails. They had made the Uzumaki clan feared.
'No wonder other villages had hunted them down. This is the infamous Uzumaki clan's adamantine chains. No wonder they could suppress the Nine-Tails. They feel unbreakable even if I used chakra to reinforce my body and strength.'
To everyone else, Shota looked helpless. He could not move. He could not use chakra as the chains seemed to be suppressing it.
But Shota knew something they did not.
His Erasure did not work on chakra. It worked on his stamina. It was after all a quirk that had been changed to erase people using this world's chakra. When he used Erasure, it was his stamina that reduces and not his chakra.
And even though he could not use it right now because his head was turned backward, he could still use the secondary function of his ability.
The anti-gravity field that made his hair float when he activated Erasure. He focused on that field now and since it did not require chakra, it would not be something that Kushina would expect for him to use.
The binding cloth around Kakashi's arm moved upward. It slid silently toward Kakashi's neck. Kakashi grunted in surprise as the cloth tightened around his neck.
Shota spoke through gritted teeth. A small smile appeared on his face. Bits of vegetables from the ramen stuck between his teeth. Only Teuchi could see it from behind the counter.
"Release me or I will break his neck. Let's see who breaks the neck faster. You mine or I break that little rascal's."
A burst of chakra erupted from Kushina. The pressure pushed down on Shota like a heavy weight. She muttered angrily.
"You…"
Teuchi had enough. He slammed his ladle on the counter. The sound was loud in the small stand.
"Kushina, release the boy at once. A shinobi from another village or not, the kid came here to eat and he will eat it. So release him. And you, Suna boy, you release Kakashi at once."
His voice was firm. It was the voice of a man who had dealt with angry shinobi before. It said that if anyone objected, they would get no more ramen. Ever.
Shota released the binding cloth immediately. It unwound from Kakashi's neck and arm and returned to its normal scarf shape around Shota's neck.
Kushina hesitated for a second. Then she released the chains. They retracted back into her body.
Shota rubbed his neck and sat back down on the stool. He picked up his chopsticks and took another bite of ramen like nothing had happened.
Konoha ANBU arrived at the scene. They appeared in a body flicker. They looked at the situation. Kushina. Kakashi. Shota eating ramen calmly. Teuchi glaring at everyone.
Shota looked at them and spoke in his usual flat voice.
"You are late. Well, better late than never. Explain them the situation so that I can have my meal in peace."
One ANBU stepped forward and muttered something quietly to Kushina. Kushina's face turned red with embarrassment. She looked at Shota.
"I am sorry, kid. I did not know you were on official business here. And last I heard you were in ANBU, so seeing you in civilian clothes made me think that you infiltrated the village. And then you attacked Kakashi…"
Shota interrupted her there.
"He attacked me first with a sword strike at my neck."
Kakashi turned his head sideways. His visible eye looked embarrassed. He rubbed the back of his neck.
Kushina looked between them.
"Oh well. Let me buy you another bowl of ramen to make it up for you."
Shota thought internally.
'A bowl of ramen for… going after my life? What kind of deal is that? At least give a secret Uzumaki jutsu or some secret Fuinjutsu knowledge.'
Outwardly he said in a dry voice.
"Troublesome Konoha people."
