"Twice." He called out without turning back. "Get on the phone. Find out why Magne and Spinner aren't here yet. We need to regroup." He was not going to prove the old man right in the first ten minutes.
"On it, boss! I'LL REACH THEM IMMEDIATELY! THEY'RE DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO ANSWER!"
Twice yanked his phone out and jammed it against the side of his mask. "Let's see if the lizards are still alive ...."
TWIP.
Several metallic objects sliced through the air. A customized tracking dart shot out of the dark perimeter weeds, burying itself directly into Twice's right thigh.
"What the —" Twice looked down at his thigh, seeing the tranquilized dart above the knee, feathered with a fluorescent orange tail. "Hey. Hey. That's in me. That's ... that's actually in me ..."
TWIP
Rappa reached out, swinging his fists. Numerous darts heading for him and Shigaraki were smacked away before they could reach.
"DOWN!"
Shigaraki yelled at the sight.
The next moment, a laser beam shot towards them from the distance, blasting a hole in the earth.
BOOM
High above, a man wearing blue clothing and a red cloak immediately yelled.
"Suppression fire ... Now."
RATATATATATATAT! Gunfire erupted as bullets bounced off the rusted metal.
Sparks exploded around the abandoned rail yard as Compress grabbed Toga and vanished behind an overturned carriage.
Rappa's teeth bared into a massive, bloodthirsty grin. "Oh ho! Finally! A real greeting!"
"What the hell?!" Toga squeaked, her switchblade snapping open in her palm as she hid behind cover.
"It's probably the police," Dabi said from behind his own pillar, his eyes narrowing as the relentless gunfire continued to pelt their positions, chipping away at the rusted infrastructure. "Either that or some local trash trying to make a name for themselves. We've been targeted either way."
Shigaraki's face darkened. They had secured the area previously. No one was present before they were warped away to see the doctor. It had only been a few minutes. How in hell did this happen?
"Hey guys .. I'm feeling pretty woozy right now ... What's going on?" In a corner, twice murmured, the anesthetic starting to kick in.
"We're under attack you idiot. Can't you tell?"
"Huh? How did they find us? No wait .. Does it matter right now?!" Twice said, clutching his leg with one hand and his phone with the other.
"Who cares how." Dabi's right hand was already burning.
Following which, he lunged out from behind his refuge, his right arm completely engulfed in a blinding torrent of blue flames. A massive, wide-range blast was unleashed toward the southern tree line, turning the incoming bullets into molten drops and setting the overgrown brush ablaze in a roaring inferno.
"Incoming."
The problem hero X less hurriedly signaled before diving out of the way. The area was engulfed the following second.
"Heh." He smiled but it disappeared quickly. "So, leader. What's our next move?" Dabi turned his head away.
"Don't tell me you .."
He never finished the sentence as a white and silver blur shot right for him across the tops of the abandoned trains.
Dabi was hit straight in the face before he could even register what happened. The sheer physical force of the impact shattered his guard instantly, sending him flying backward through the air like a ragdoll before he crashed violently into a distant storage shed.
BOOM!
The corrugated iron collapsed him.
"EEEEHHH?!"Toga exclaimed.
The remaining villains watched in absolute shock as a massive gust of wind kicked up by the velocity blew across the clearing, instantly scattering the smoke and parting the blue flames.
On the opposite end, right on the edge of the rusted roof Dabi had just been leaning against, a figure landed lightly on her hands and feet.
"Well well. Isn't this a surprise. And here I was worried you guys would escape before I got here, leading to a lot of wasted effort." The figure stood on her feet, resting a hand on her hip.
"Dammit. That lady just sent Dabi flying." Twice yelled in disbelief at the new arrival. She was tall. Muscular. Had white hair fluttering wildly and long rabbit ears pointed proudly toward the sky.
"Just my luck. I've been looking to do that for a long time. Though that hit came a bit too hard." She cracked her neck. Golden eyes swept across the League. Then a savage grin spread across her face."But with everything you've done, "I don't really feel all that bad about it."
Her grin widened.
The Rabbit Hero, Mirko.
"Shit, Heroes." Compress yelled, his voice dropping all theatricality as his hand darted into his coat pocket. The next, multiple small marbles appeared between his fingers. "Shigaraki, we ..."
BOOM.
Compress never finished the sentence. A white flash blurred across the gravel, and before the magician could even raise a hand to compress himself, Mirko's heel planted itself squarely into his sternum.
"BLERGH!" Compress spat out a mouthful of blood. The sound of cracking bones echoed for a moment as the air was violently blasted from his lungs.
'My body.'
"Heh. No talking when the fight's on!" Mirko barked, twisting her torso mid-air to pivot off his collapsing form.
Raising her head, the first thing she saw was a barrage of fists heading right in her direction. "Can it rabbit!" Rappa roared and threw a punch.
The attacks hit.
BOOM!
The freight train behind was demolished with consecutive hits. As for the target in question however? 'She dodged.' Rappa raised his head, only to see Mirko leaping backward along the rusted roof of a passenger car, her long rabbit ears twitching as she prepared to drop down on Toga. Her feet landed on the roof, ready to switch to her next attack.
Then, her footing slipped. 'Ugh ..' Before Mirko could realize what was going on, the world tilted violently to the left. A sudden, nauseating wave of vertigo hit her brain, making the rusted metal beneath her feet spin. "What the ..." Her eyes swept the clearing in an instant.
Through the smoke and the spinning world, she quickly found her target in a split second. 'It's him.' Deidoro Sakaki, slumped against a collapsed railing at the far end of the yard, somehow upright and holding two fistfuls of knives between his fingers. 'So for these new guys, one can shoot fire, another can throw rapid punches. And the third's quirk can cause dizziness..'
Meanwhile, "Die." The ex Yakuza member threw the blades towards her with all his might. Mirko twisted her body in midair, easily weaving through the volley of spinning knives.
Following which, the blades carved through the space where her torso had been a full second prior. 'Heh. How lame.'
She clicked her tongue. "Using that kind of trick against me?" Her golden eyes narrowed on Deidoro. "You better have something else ..."
The rabbit hero was mid sentence when a torrent of azure flames swallowed the entire battlefield.
The rusted railcars disappeared behind an ocean of blue, consuming everything in its path.
Mirko's eyes widened.
'Again?!' She had personally sent the fire user flying.
There shouldn't have been a second attack. So how had he managed to get up from that so quickly? The flames engulfed the entire area without waiting for her answer.
"I did it."
Twice muttered weakly before blacking out. The last drops of mud flowed away from his hands, joining the body of a newly created Dabi double clone. "Tch. You guys really can't do anything without me."
On the sides, Toga knelt beside Mr. Compress's body. "He's unconscious. What do we do Handyman?"
Tomura frowned, eyes darting around the direction of Dabi's flames.
Sure enough ... BOOM! A figure burst out from the center of the firestorm, looking completely untouched.
Mirko exploded through the flames like a cannonball. The instant she emerged, her trajectory changed.
"Dammit."
The new Dabi retreated. Only to discover he was never the target to begin with as Mirko moved not toward the new Dabi. But rather toward Deidoro.
The ex-yakuza barely widened his eyes. Anything else was too late to accomplish.
WHAM! Mirko's knee buried itself straight into his chest.
The sound of ribs shattering echoed across the rail yard. Deidoro coughed blood as his body folded around her knee. Before he could even scream ...
BOOM!
Mirko drove him into the ground. "So, that one can make duplicates."
The vertigo cleared from her eyes in a second.
The rabbit grinned viciously as she turned her gaze, then pivoted without breaking her momentum. BANG!
The earth shattered beneath her feet. Following which, she disappeared without warning and appeared right before her target.
The Dabi clone's eyes widened.
'Fast .... !' BOOM!
Mirko's kick tore straight through his torso.
The mud clone exploded apart instantly. Mirko's momentum was barely diminished as she charged towards Shigaraki behind him.
'Dammit!' Shigaraki raised his hands, his bare fingers extended, waiting for the exact microsecond her body crossed his path to turn her to dust.
He was clearly overthinking as his actions didn't matter. The sheer disparity in reaction speed was a chasm the current him was unable to bridge. 'I can't ..' Before his hand could drop, Mirko's leg kicked forward.
CRACK!
The force sent Shigaraki rocketing backward through the air, crashing violently through the wooden sidebars of an overturned freight carriage. The wood splintered into toothpicks around him as he tumbled into the dark interior.
"Heh." Watching Shigaraki get blasted into the distance, Mirko huffed, brushing a stray speck of dust off her shoulder as she stood tall in the center of the clearing. "Four down. One more to go ..."
TWITCH. Her long rabbit ears snapped back, catching a violent displacement of air behind her.
Mirko didn't even bother turning around. Her legs instinctively flexed, launching her straight up into the air as a massive, brass-knuckled fist tore through the exact patch of empty space she previously occupied. The sheer kinetic wind of the punch blew the surrounding dust into a miniature cyclone.
"DON'T YOU IGNORE ME, RABBIT!" Rappa roared, his eyes bloodshot with frantic excitement.
"Heh ... You don't seem to care that your team just got dismantled, do you?" She landed a distance away, eyes wide with a grin.
The reply she got was a straightforward attack.
BANG! It missed once again. The wind pressure so violent it tore a trench into the dirt, but Mirko was already gone. The next second, the rail yard became a blur of silver and white.
Countless white flashes zipped around in all directions. Mirko utilized the rusted train carriages as a pinball machine, her powerful legs launching her from a collapsed freight car to the side of a locomotive, then down to a steel rail line.
Rappa pivoted wildly, throwing blind, heavy haymakers at the shifting shadows, but his eyes simply couldn't track her trajectory. Every time he swung, he was hitting nothing but the afterimage of her mocking grin. The sound of her boots hammering against the steel carriages echoed from everywhere at once, completely scrambling his senses.
"Over here! No, over here! Wow, you're really slow on the uptake, aren't you?!" Her voice echoed tauntingly through the yard.
"Stand still and fight like a man you coward!" Rappa bellowed, swinging a massive horizontal hook that sheared the entire door off an abandoned train car.
"I'm not a man." The voice echoed as the former Yakuza was slammed into yet again after leaving another opening. "... And I'm up here you dummy."
"Huh?" His gaze moved upwards. Mirko was descending directly toward him. Her muscular legs coiled like massive steel springs, and her face was split into a savage, predatory grin.
"If you can't even keep your eyes on your opponent, you've already lost!" Mirko roared, her voice booming over the wind as she flipped upside down, her powerful thighs spreading wide. "Now take a good look at how a real hero wraps things up!" Then slamming right into Rappa's head. "Luna Tijeras!"
