Nonna Anita's POV
I sat beside Charles' still unconscious body. I thought that he would be awake by now but he is still out.
"You need to take a break from taking care of my brother." Williams said behind me, placing a hand on my shoulders.
"I can't sleep. I don't know what to do, I feel like if I take my eyes off him, something bad might happen."
"Stop beating yourself over what happened to him. He told you to leave after discovering your real identity. There was nothing that you could do."
"I know but still, maybe if I was there then he would still be okay. I should have known that Volk would do something stupid just to get back into power. He always hated Charles' guys."
"Charles took the keys of this city from him. He would definitely want him out of the way. He knew that Charles was alone at this point."
I went silent because he was right. Charles was all alone and there was no one there anymore. I have never trusted Maria because she is one greedy person.
