[3rd POV]
(The Hokage's Office)
The curtain was closed inside the Hokage's office, and the door was also tightly shut. The Hokage sat at his table and he was surrounded by seven jonins.
And these jonins were not like your average jonins either; they were the best in their own respective fields, the most elite individuals the village had to offer.
And all these exceptional figures were looking at the table of the Hokage. What was on there was, without a doubt, the most important treasure in the village.
The children, the academy students who just graduated to genins. They were the future of the Leaf Village.
"The graduates this year are quite the exceptional bunch," Kurenai commented while looking at the crystal.
The crystal belonged to the Hokage; it was a valuable artifact that could be used for scouting. And right now, it showed the live footage of the classroom full of students that graduated this year.
"The heir of the major clans is this year. The Nara clan heir, the Yamanaka clan heir, the Akimichi clan heir, and even the sole survivor of the Uchiha massacre," Asuma said while looking at the faces of the students.
"And even Naruto Uzumaki. One of the few remaining Uzumaki and the Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki," he said.
"And that is exactly why I have gathered you all to be the leaders of these teams. I cannot have any random shinobi guide such important children," Hiruzen said.
The crystal flew over the other notable students until it came to a stop under a blue-haired kid.
"And who is that?" Kurenai asked.
"Suyou Hoshigawa, the first-ranked student of this year," the Hokage answered.
"He must be quite the talent then, able to perform the best in a class full of heirs," Hiruzen said.
"That is indeed correct. But there is also something more to him than meets the eye," Hiruzen said while puffing out smoke, his eyes holding a glint like he knew just how special he was.
Suyou had not been too secretive with his training. Even if said training involved practising his Susanoo with his clone last night.
How could such a thing be hidden from the Hokage's eyes?
"I have plans of my own for him," Hiruzen said before panning the crystal away and focusing on the student sitting next to him, Naruto Uzumaki.
"We need to be most careful with Naruto, so I am leaving him in your hands, Kakashi," Hiruzen said.
Kakashi gave a lazy nod.
"We must all do our best for these kids," the Hokage said, "For our future lies with them. Protect them, guide them well."
"Yes, Lord Hokage," the jonins answered.
But then again, the Hokage's eyes could not leave young Suyou. He had lived enough to tell potential at a glance, and the boy had shown no limit.
From the second-ranked student to being so far above his peers in the span of a week's training, where he finally tried.
He had plans for such talent.

[1st POV]
Holy shit, my jonin teacher is even later than Kakashi.
At this point, I was starting to lose hope that I even had a jonin teacher. Did they really just forget about my existence altogether?
"Oh man, what a waste of time," I said while slumping into my chair.
Maybe I should leave a shadow clone here so that I could train elsewhere. There were so many things I would rather do than just sit still.
I picked up a pencil and let it stick to my open hand with my chakra control. That was not all, I let the pencil roll around and flip between my fingers without moving a single muscle. It was pure chakra control.
I took out two more pencils to make the task even harder. Now I had three pencils rolling around my hand, flipping between my fingers without anything clashing. It took a bit of focus and concentration to hold.
A few more minutes passed by in a flash, and the door of the class slid open. That broke me out of my focus, and the pencils fell from my hand.
When I excitedly looked towards the door, hoping to see my jonin teacher, I saw someone I never expected to see.
Jiraiya!!
Just kidding, although that would be cool.
"Lord Hokage?" I said, my eyes wide and stupefied.
Hiruzen gave me a smirk, "Good afternoon, young Suyou. I hope I was not too late. I was caught up with some stuff in the office."
"No, not at all," I said while standing up, "I reckoned maintaining the village is a busy task."
"That you are right," he said. "You must be confused right now, but we have come to a problem regarding you. There is no team you can fit in. We are at peace right now, so fortunately, we have not lost a genin even among the teams that graduated last year."
"So I have decided to step up and become your jonin teacher. Well, a Hokage teacher, if you will. I hope you don't mind learning from this old man," he said.
My eyes widened. This was... great!! It was such a great turn of events that I wouldn't have wished for this even in my wildest dreams.
"Of course not, having you as a teacher would be great!" I said, perhaps sounding more excited than I would've liked.
"That's good then," he said. He put down his Hokage hat onto the table and walked up to me, clearly showing that he was not going to be the Hokage whenever we interacted, but my jonin teacher.
I couldn't help my excitement. He was really the perfect teacher for me. I was someone with full stats on potential. That meant I could learn almost everything. And Hiruzen was a shinobi who mastered everything.
Be it ninjutsu, taijutsu, fuinjutsu, genjutsu, he knew them all. He was known as the Professor for a reason.
"Although we already know each other, let's go over our introduction, shall we?" he said and stopped in front of me.
"My name is Hiruzen Sarutobi, my favourite colour is red, my hobby is looking after the village, although in my youth I used to be quite popular with girls. What I hate are people who betray their loved ones. And my only hope and dream for the future is the prosperity of the village," he said.
"Now it's your turn," he said.
"O-Okay," I said and coughed, "My name is Suyou Hoshigawa, my favourite colour is green, my hobby is training, and I don't like people who are selfish and think only about themselves."
"My dream for the future is..." I gathered my thoughts for a minute, "To die having achieved all I can, and having reasons to regret dying."
"Hmm?" he said while rubbing his beard, "What a peculiar dream to have."
"Now that the introductions are over, you can go, but make sure to meet me on the Hokage Mountain first thing in the morning. I, too, will make room in my schedule," he said.
"Thank you, Lord Hokage," I said.
"No, not the Hokage. You can refer to me as Hiruzen-sensei."
"I see, I will keep that in mind," I said.
And so my day was over.
What a surprise it was. I never thought I would have the Hokage of all people as my teacher.

Author: The MC has not read all the fanfictions where Hiruzen is portrayed as a plotting old villain.
And in my book, I follow the canon story, and Hiruzen is not evil nor does he wish harm to the MC.
