Chapter 185 — Estefania Dresses Up Just for William
Inside the container, William opened the Arms Dealer System and pulled out the list Nando had given him from his storage space.
Following it item by item, he began materializing standard U.S. Army crates.
Each box contained exactly what Nando had ordered.
Before long, firearms worth over a million dollars filled the container.
Of course, William himself had spent a few hundred thousand as cost.
But that money had come from the MCU world anyway—so feeding it back into the system here was practically "stimulating the economy."
Soon, the entire container was packed to the brim with weapons.
Honestly, a truck like this wouldn't make it through a single checkpoint in Chicago.
Transporting this volume of arms required specialized logistics teams.
Of course, "specialized" really just meant privilege.
Same everywhere in the world.
At the end of the day, it was still just trucks moving goods.
Leaving it here meant Nando would have to put in some serious effort to move everything out of Chicago.
And that, in itself, was part of William's display of power.
If he wanted to operate in this world, he needed a steady source of income.
Arms dealing worked just fine.
With that thought, William stepped out, shut the container doors, and locked them with a heavy-duty padlock he'd prepared earlier.
Then he returned to his AMG and picked up his phone.
Meanwhile—North Side, Estefania's apartment.
Estefania lay naked on her bed as usual, lazily scrolling through her phone.
She opened Tinder… then quickly lost interest.
After her experience with William, her standards had skyrocketed.
She wanted something more intense.
But everyone on Tinder felt… ordinary.
No one came close to him.
"So damn boring…" she muttered, rolling over.
Steve wasn't home.
Not that it mattered—his presence didn't make much difference to her anyway.
"That useless guy… just seeing him annoys me."
She flipped onto her back, restless.
"Ugh… why hasn't William called me yet?"
Just as she was complaining—
Her phone vibrated.
Buzz. Buzz.
"Fuck, who is it now—" she snapped, irritated at being interrupted.
But the moment she saw the caller ID—
She shot upright in bed.
"Hello~ William! What do you need?"
Her face flushed slightly—though it wasn't obvious under her sun-kissed skin.
On the call, William asked whether Steve was home.
"No, he's not! Don't worry, he won't be back. Just come over!"
William smiled faintly and hung up.
He scribbled the parking lot address and the truck's license plate onto a piece of paper, then stored both the note and the keys in his storage space.
The AMG roared to life, and he headed toward Chicago's North Side.
About twenty minutes later—
William parked outside Estefania's upscale apartment building.
He glanced up at it and shook his head.
No matter how luxurious these high-end apartments were—with cleaning services, gyms, pools, even private chefs—
something about them just never appealed to him.
The building also had full security, along with dedicated staff to maintain the landscaping.
But at heart, William still preferred traditional courtyard homes.
He had a deep attachment to the idea of a standalone house with a private yard—something that truly belonged to him.
That said, it wasn't just about luxury that made Americans and Japanese people favor high-end apartments.
Plenty of them would actually prefer houses too.
But property taxes, along with city and state regulations, made owning a standalone home extremely expensive.
For some, annual property taxes alone could run into tens of thousands of dollars.
And if you wanted services like housekeeping?
In countries where labor costs are high, hiring private, on-demand help could be shockingly expensive.
So over time, these upscale apartment complexes became the preferred choice for many wealthy people—
Lower ownership costs, with comprehensive services included.
Of course, the place Estefania lived in wasn't even the top tier.
The fact that she still had to share a floor with other residents meant it wasn't the most elite building in Chicago.
Passing through the lobby, William took the elevator upstairs.
Soon, he arrived at her floor and knocked on the door.
Inside—
Estefania sat at her vanity, completely bare, carefully applying makeup.
There was no helping it—William had set the bar that high.
Hearing the knock, she hurried to finish the final touches.
Once her eyeliner was done, she set the pencil aside, moved to the bed, and slipped into a deliberately seductive black, semi-transparent silk nightdress she had picked out earlier.
Then she stepped in front of the mirror, checking herself over.
Satisfied, she adjusted the neckline slightly, letting one shoulder slip free—exposing her collarbone.
She was confident no man could resist her like this.
With everything in place, she walked to the door and opened it.
"Looks like the wait was worth it," William said, pausing as he took in her appearance.
His gaze swept over her, and he couldn't help but admire it.
She had the body of a supermodel and the face of a star.
Her skin was a healthy wheat tone—not too dark, just enough to carry a sun-kissed glow.
More than acceptable—
in fact, very much to his taste.
"Well? Do you like it?" Estefania asked.
She rarely went to such lengths for any man.
Not even when she'd been with Marco had she put in this much effort.
Come to think of it, Marco's fate had changed too—thanks, indirectly, to William, he'd been dealt with by Nando much earlier.
And Estefania had avoided all the abuse that might have followed.
In a way, she owed William for that.
"You're asking me?" William stroked his chin, circling her slowly.
"I like it," he said with a grin. "Like it enough to want you."
With that, he stepped forward and wrapped an arm around her waist from behind.
