Chapter 114 – As Expected, Not Every Woman Comes With a Reward
William's words now carried more weight than an imperial decree.
Amelia slowly rose to her feet, but her head remained slightly lowered in a posture of reverence.
William walked toward the inner carriage.
The vampires kneeling on the floor quietly shifted aside, opening a path for him. They remained on both sides, still kneeling, still humble.
Truthfully, in both his past life and this one, William had never witnessed a scene like this.
But he stayed composed.
A prophet had to maintain presence. No room for awkwardness.
Soon, he led Amelia into the innermost luxury carriage. It resembled a private hotel suite — a bed, a sofa set, dining table, wardrobe, and lavish European decor.
The entire compartment reeked of ancient nobility, wealth… and decadence.
"Close the carriage door."
As Amelia's private carriage, the soundproofing and privacy were excellent. Once the door shut, no one outside could see or hear anything happening inside.
"Amelia. Remove your clothes."
She looked up at him.
If anyone else had made that request, she would have struck them down instantly.
But this was William — the mortal vessel of a god.
And in his eyes, she saw no lust. Only calm detachment.
After a brief pause, she slowly removed her gown and stood before him completely bare.
William gave her figure a brief, clinical look.
To be fair — aside from her face, Amelia's body was stunning. Full where it should be, lean where it should be. No excess, no flaw.
William sat on the edge of the bed and beckoned.
"Come here."
Amelia walked over to William.
His head was roughly level with the space between her chest and stomach.
"Kneel."
She slowly lowered herself to her knees, until she had to tilt her chin slightly upward to meet his eyes.
"Amelia, are you willing to devote yourself to me completely?"
William's tone was solemn, almost like he was delivering a sacred vow.
Amelia couldn't quite grasp the situation, but remembering the miracle she had just experienced, she bowed her head devoutly.
"Your subject, your believer, Amelia, is willing to serve you with all her heart."
"Good. Devout children shall receive my blessing.
Now, show me your devotion.
If I am satisfied, you shall receive the power granted by the Father."
As he spoke, William slowly removed his own clothes.
At the word blessing, Amelia looked up at him, eyes filled with anticipation.
For someone who had lived fifteen centuries, there was little left to pursue in this world beyond power and strength.
___
William waited, but the system notification never came.
He sighed inwardly.
"Looks like I got too used to receiving rewards from female characters. Built a dependency there."
Still, since he had already put on the act, he had to follow through.
Luckily, in his Disease Space, he still had a strain of [Undying · X Subtype] — the mutated virus carrying the Metal Manipulation and Regeneration genes.
William placed a hand on Amelia's head.
"Receive my blessing."
He activated Disease Transfer, implanting the [Undying · X Subtype] into her.
"Feel the metal objects around you. Like this."
He demonstrated, raising a hand. A metal fork on the dining table floated up, hovered before them, then gently settled into his palm.
He handed it to Amelia.
Unlike Selene, Amelia trusted William far more deeply, so she didn't doubt herself as much.
She grasped the basics of metal manipulation much faster.
The mysterious power quickly captivated her.
Moments later, she dropped to her knees again, prostrating herself.
"Thank you for the Father's gift. I shall serve, worship, and believe in the Father for eternity."
At that moment, she crossed into the realm of fanatic devotion.
"Get up, Amelia. Test your limits — maximum weight, and range."
William had forgotten to run this test on Selene earlier.
He still didn't know whether the Undying virus amplified or weakened X-genes, and that needed research.
Soon, the results were clear.
Amelia could manipulate about 200 kilograms — roughly two-thirds of William's 300 kg limit. Her control range was also about one-third shorter.
Still, William knew his own metal manipulation wasn't very strong yet. It was only Level 3. Abilities based on genetic traits could grow with training. Maybe someday he could reach Magneto-level feats.
This confirmed something important:
Genes transmitted through viral vectors degraded.
On the surface, that seemed bad.
For William, it was excellent.
It meant any subordinates he created this way would never surpass him.
As long as he kept improving, they would always remain beneath him.
William suddenly asked, "Amelia, have you heard of Magneto?"
Since this was a hybrid Underworld–MCU universe, mutants might exist.
"I have not met him, but I have heard of such a being."
"Have your kind ever tried gaining mutant abilities through feeding?"
Amelia shook her head.
"My Lord, once we learned of mutants, experiments were conducted. All failed."
"Failed?"
"Yes. Aside from reading fragments of memory from their blood, their powers cannot be acquired that way."
William rubbed his chin.
"Then have you tried creating vampire–mutant hybrids, Amelia?"
