Chapter 4 - First Day At School

Mylo clutches his backpack tightly as he watches the back of his father's car disappear in the corner of the street.

He wants to stalk around to lament and hate his life but he knows better than to waste his time on the impossible.

He immediately takes out his school files and he pulls out the campus map before he cross-hang his backpack over his body.

"Stay invisible," Mylo repeats his father's words, his eyes on the ground and on the map as he begins on his steps. Already used to the feeling of being alone everywhere he goes, he can do this.

It's just that he faces a big problem, he is lost. He has walked to four different blocks for the last forty five minutes, unable to find the administration office and he doesn't dare to ask any of the students.

He looks around tiredly, wiping sweat off his face with the back of hand. This school is so large and the buildings looks almost the same. How is he supposed to easily navigate his way?

Mylo looks around again, watching how everyone is walking freely in pairs and in groups to different buildings.

"I can do this!" He fixes his clothes and focuses on studying the map in his hand again and in less than ten minutes he was standing inside the administrative office.

"So you are transferred from the University Of Pentoville?" The office man looks at Mylo's files and then at the computer, his glasses on his nose.

"You are lucky that Northern Lantern City University only admits students with perfect straight A results or someone like you would not stand a chance of transferring here from such a poor school."

If Mylo is uncomfortable with the man's tone, he doesn't show it. He simply nods politely, agreeing to him.

He looks up at Mylo, "How old are you? What year did you finish high school? You look too young to begin the university."

He picks up a stamp and places it on one of Mylo's papers, not necessarily interested in Mylo answering his questions as he continues, "Your student ID will be ready in two days, come back then."

He waves Mylo off, and then added, "Pick up your time table at that shelf on your way out."

Mylo politely bows, "Thank you, Sir."

He hides his confusion at the man's state of mind. He asked him a lot of questions and then quickly dismissed him. Mylo quietly picks up the time table on his way out, not without glancing at the wall clock.

It was 9:55. It seems he might have already missed his first lectures according to the time table. So he decides he is going to get acquainted with the buildings and also search for his lecture hall.

But another problem arises and Mylo wants to pee and he wants to go badly.

He doesn't know where exactly he is but from the map in his hands he is on floor 3 on god knows which building. He was not sure and there were not many students passing through this floor.

Even the hallway was almost empty.

Thankfully, when he looks to the left side, he immediately noticed the restroom sign for males and quickly goes there.

He held onto the doorknob and suddenly he feels very reluctant to open the door.

Something is telling him from his inside not to open the door.

He repeats to himself again, "Stay invisible."

He can control his bladder, he could hold in the urine for a few more hours. What is there?

He decided to trust his guts and let go of the doorknob and he is about to walk away when a loud thud lands on the door from the inside.

Mylo jumps, frightened.

All the students who were nearby did not spare a second glance to the door as they all began running, murmuring something among themselves.

Mylo stares at the door curiously, confused, wondering. He blinks repeatedly, his feet pulling him towards the door.

He places his hand on the doorknob and turns it, opening the door but he could not push it open as someone's body weight was resting against the door from the inside.

Mylo decides to put an effort in pushing open the door but before he could do that the person behind the door moves away and he forcefully pulls himself inside, falling face flat on the bathroom floor.

A loud boo followed in the large bathroom at Mylo's epic entrance, followed by cries and sad whimpering.

Mylo instantly stands up on his feet, keeping his eyes on the ground as it immediately sinks into him what he has gotten himself into.

There was a boy beaten to a near death in the center of the room where he was under the feet of a figure in a black lace-less ankle boot.

The same figure had three more people accompanying him by his side.

Mylo looked left to see four boys bending over to touch their toes in just underwear. Their clothes were neatly folded on their backpack in front of them.

They were three more figures standing behind him, with one of them leaning against the door he came in from.

Mylo immediately knew at this moment that he had fucked up really badly. He had crossed over to the wilderness and he was going to be skinned alive.

But he did not want to allow this situation to deter him because he has had a fair share of bullies throughout his life in high school and at home. He was going to exercise his faith, mind his business and stay invisible.

He clutches his on backpack and bows to all of them silently, walking into the toilet as he locked the door.

He opens his trouser to take a pee but nothing comes out as his body already recognizes that he could be dead at any moment from now.

He could recognize the silence outside and how their eyes were boring into him when he was standing there.

Mylo flushes the toilet even when he doesn't use it and steps outside to the sink. He washes his hands, feigning nonchalant in his attitude and expression.

He bows again to them when he was done and he is about to walk back to the door when the figure in front of it walks toward him, blocking him from leaving.

"Where does this brat thinks he is going?"

The two figures behind him laughed seriously.

One of the figures laughing behind says, "Is he new?"

"Hey," The one blocking the door pushes Mylo on the shoulders, "Are you mute?" Then pushes him on his forehead, "You have some serious nerves, don't you think?"

Mylo immediately bows, his hands on his knees, "Please I don't want any trouble. I just wanted to use the restroom."

"He said he doesn't want trouble," One of the figures laughs, running his hand through his hair as he turns to the figure in the middle of the room.

"Alpha Ryker, the boy says we smell like trouble. What should we do to him?"

The silence in the room grows thick at the mention of the name and Mylo's chest suddenly gets too tight.

Ryker gets up from his seat, standing on the back of the boy under his feet.

The boy groans, his bloody face squeezing in pain as he stays still, being a good footmat for the Alpha.

With no care in the world, Ryker dash forward, leaning towards Mylo's neck from behind. He takes a long sniff, causing Mylo to jump from the contact and instantly turn around to face him but he falls on his butt instead.

Ryker doesn't help Mylo even though he is close enough to stop him from falling down.

He takes a step backward, his hands in his pockets as he watches Mylo curiously, his blue eyes searching for something on the boy's face.

Mylo does not dare to look up at this person. He does not even wish to look him in the eyes. It seems like he is the leader of this group and Mylo knows better not to offend him.

He gets up on his feet, cleaning his dirty hands on the side of his trousers, "I did not mean to offend any of you. I just needed to use the restroom."

A loud smack lands on Mylo's head from the back, "Watch your tone, you twink!"

Mylo doesn't react, he clenches his fist, and gathers his courage and lifted up his head to look at Alpha Ryker in the eyes.

A gasp immediately escapes his lips. He blink away from Alpha Ryker's gaze his entire body shaking with fear.

"I did not do anything wrong. This is the school premises and all I did was use the restroom. If anything, you and your friends are wrong. Both in the eyes of man and that of God," Mylo swallows dryly, his heart beating fast, "I'm going to report all of you to the professor."

A loud laughter erupted in the room, causing Ryker to scoffs. He shakes his head ridiculously at the mere threat and walks out of Mylo to everyone ultimate surprised.

"Alpha, are you not going to teach this brat a lesson? He broke your rules."

Ryker stops on his steps and looks over his shoulder, his eyes taking in Mylo again, "Let him go, Lenn."

He walks out, leaving Mylo and everyone totally speechless.
